I've been to NYC several times. First was 100% as a tourist...all the museums and bus tour, it was exhausting and so much zipping around, I hardly remember any of it!!!Once on new years eve. It was so loud and crowded with everyone pushing I couldn't enjoy anything. I'm short so i felt like i was going to sufficate, or be trampled, or get separated grom my group. The last time I went in 2003 with my sister and her friend. They had never been, and I had been before. They did the normal tourist stuff and I sat on the steps, in the park, or coffee shop and people watched!!! That was the best of all my visits there. I won't ever go again!
College football all the way! Don’t be afraid to join in at a tailgate! Say hi and explain that it is your first game and make some new friends! Everyone is just having fun and meeting new people, and I guarantee they will be happy to feed you and offer you a beer!
American football evolved in the United States, originating from the sports of soccer and rugby. The first American football match was played on November 6, 1869, between two college teams, Rutgers and Princeton, using rules based on the rules of soccer at the time.
Ive been to countless big time NFL and college games. College is 10 times for amped up and exciting. Half of an NFL crowd now is rich people are eith in suites, close to the field, or around the 50 yard line. College games is just madness coming from every seat!!! I think NHL has the most exciting pro atmosphere. I have a friend with 4 season tickets to the best seats where the St. Louis blues play! Free alcohol and food and first row up against glass right behind goalie. Best seats ive ever been in
the basic most important things to know about Football are there's 2 end zones....one for each team....each team defends & tries to reach the endzones....theres an offensive & defensive team....most common penalty flags are holding & facemask & unsportsmanlike behavior & false starts & offsides....you get points for a touchdown which is running into the endzones & kicking a field goal
@@garycamara9955 You forgot the extra one point kicked through the goal's crossbars, AFTER scoring a tourchdown. OR 2 points if you decide to RUN the ball again into the end zone (instead of kicking for one point) AFTER scoring a Touchdown also called a "TD"
I think they are maybe outlawing beer during the game and in the stadium in Europe and England because they seem to have no control and get plastered, leading to a lot of people fighting the opposition fans. They are extremely more aggressive with their fandom than we are here in the USA.
I grew up a Giants fan as that was my father's favorite team and we didn't get coverage of the "local" team, the New England Patriots. I didn't get a change to watch the Patriots on a regular basis until I moved to southern New Hampshire.

So far, I have seen only one post mentioning high school football. I live in Texas, where Friday nights are high school football nights. There was even a movie made about high school football madness in Texas, called FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS.
Ah The rules… Well, there are A LOT of rules and they are adjusted from year to year. Basically the ball is in play until you fall down and an opponent touches you, if not you get up and keep going. If the ball is thrown to you and you don’t catch it and it hits the ground, it’s dead. If you are holding the ball and you can get it over any part of the end zone plane before your knees touch the ground, you score. That’s the basic principle, many other rules, few other ways to score.
I would imagine the difference between whether you want to experience a college or NFL game is a lot like whether you would rather watch a world cup soccer match or a premier or la liga match. In depends on the experience you want. NFL gets you the ability to watch the biggest stars for the biggest stakes and experiencing the sport at the highest level. College gets you the more passionate, intense environment especially when its a big rivalry game. But remember it can depend on where you are going and the matchup you would be attending. Its easy to say go to a college game for sure but if the timing of your visit means seeing a game of 2 college teams who are really bad that season or a game where they are playing a low level non conference team you wont get that experience you want. Same will go for the NFL You have to do homework...make sure you know teams and rivalries and be open to possibly going to both to get the best experiences.
The Giants were dominant in the '50s and better than average since. They have their rough years but are pretty good to watch most of the time. Continue on with your wish. Many get tickets to games but don't use them.
Living across the border I am with you in Southwestern Ontario the Lions have a good fan base as well until you get down to Toronto then it is a lot of Buffalo fans
It is the Detroit Lions. Definitely not the Frogs, though that could almost make sense if someone referring to the team wasn't really fond of the French, since Frog is a derogatory term for a French person and the area where Detroit is was originally settled by the French when Europe came to the Americas. A Frenchman named Antoine Laumet founded the settlement of Fort Pontchartrain which became Detroit. Antoine was a bit of a fraud, a commoner in France who took the opportunity to give himself a new identity to elevate his perceived position. He added a fancy sounding title to his name after coming to the Americas and became Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, which is where the Cadillac car company, founded in Detroit, got its name from.
I sincerely hope you get your chance to visit New York City. I have been there several times but only in the airports. LA, Chicago, Dallas, Kansas City, Denver, etc. are enough for me. Totally agree with you. SEC (Southeastern Conference) Football is the best. I am from Kentucky (GO WILDCATS!!!). Better teams in SEC is Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, Tennessee Vols. But tons of really good teams.
Pro football is much superior to college. The Detroit Lions used to be bad, but they are very good now. You should visit Chicago for a lot of great food (including Chicago barbeque (ribs)), Mexican food, and great museums. The team is the Chicago Bears.
Truth, My friend and I TMED it once when watching our Cleveland Browns at a sports bar. Timed it from the time the ball was snapped, until the play was called dead. That game was about 13 minutes of ACTUAL playing.
I grew up in Wisconsin, they have the Green Bay Packers. It’s actually kind of hard to get tickets because people own their seats every year until they decide they don’t want to go anymore. Their stadium is Lambeau Field, which is in a smaller city, but has a grand history in the world of football. I started to get into football finally in my 20s, watching the Packers in the 90s, when Brett Favre was playing and they had a really good team at the time. I had never been to a football game before, and my dad decided I needed to go at least once. He had a friend who had season tickets, so we made the 2 hour drive to Lambeau Field. It was Fall, not super cold. But the stadium is right next to Lake Michigan. The people next to us were so nice. They went every weekend and always brought extra coats and gloves and hats for strangers who had never been there. Because the wind off the lake makes it really cold, and they know people don’t expect it. They were so kind to borrow me a coat and hat lol it was a great game. Very close because Favre threw more than one interception… as usual, but that made it exciting lol That was the one and only time I’ve gone to a live game. Now I have a teenager who is in the high school marching band, so we go to high school football games. And you know, it’s just as fun, if not more so. ❤ from Minnesota
I watched Shaun's vid years ago and my only issue was that he bought the cheapest ticket available to sit 80 miles up in the bleachers so you're never going to get an awesome experience at ANY game of ANY sport like that. Those guys are massive on the field but they look like ants from where he sat. And u cant follow the game at all from that far away
I agree that college football is better. I've only been to one NFL game over 15 years ago (Patriots @ Bengals) and never bothered again. All I do every Saturday is watch as many games as I possibly can. Sometimes I have 3 games on 3 TVs😂 I'm a college football nut!
American NFL football: A play is made. Somebody complains about the play that was just made. An examination of the play is made. A decision on the play is made. More complaints about the decision on the play that was made. 20 minutes of commercials. Repeat. College football is more interesting. Especially if you attend it instead of watch it on TV.
No one in the state claims the Giants as New York's team, because they are in New Jersey. Luckily football fans in NY have the Buffalo Bills to support which are actually in NY, specifically in Orchard Park where they are currently building a brand new stadium across the street from their current one. Andre, the Cowboys are the second worst team in the nation, only the Detroit Lions are worse.
American NFL stadiums are amazing and so much more modern than college.. most cost billions of dollars with amazing retractable roofs thousands of feet of big screen LED 4k big screens hanging over stadium field/pitch and or on top of stadium.. this stafium and the giants are not a good team in the last 20 years…. Much better tsasiumd. Tailgates and better fans.. ny have a lot of teams and so less fans for each team instead of a citynwithmonenteam..mits crazy like Cleveland, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Kansas City and green bay , right now Dallas andLA, MIN, INDY prob have best stadiums right now as far as modern amenities and beauty bc they are brand new with retractable roofs etc.. but each has its own charm wherever ya go…even Cleveland a smaller city has amazing fan tailgating and passion and they are getting a dome and or retractable roof.. which sucks bc the weather is a great part.. especially up north on the lakes Great Lakes.. they get feet of snow and the game is fun to watch in the snow and domes take that away.. home field advantage goes away a bit too bc of that in my opinion. Just a little bit of info from a person who, goes to allot of games

College football seems better if you’re in or near a college that has a team. But professional football playoffs are more straightforward, games are primarily on Sundays. And most of America is not near a college town. So, although many college football fans are adamant that college football is better, college fans also follow professional teams, but many more people who follow professional football do not follow college football. Just look at the stats. Having known players from both I can also say there is a professionalism in professional football that makes it apples and oranges. People who went to college, or are going now, are very passionate about it. For many, it’s the best time of their lives. Just like college is different than actually working a job. However, the number of blue collar and working class people who don’t have that experience, but are there for and love their team- based not on their school but other reasons- join in this American sport. And professional football in America brings everyone, like or not, together.
For atmosphere, college football is better. For performance, it isn't close. The NFL is a mans league, and the players are some of the greatest athletes in the world.
I definitely agree that college football is better ❤😊!
💯
Yep! The experience of college football is definitely better👍
Way better
Maybe so but there’s like hundreds of college teams all over the country. Plus the ranking system screws over some teams.
Yes but it's not true across the board. The Big 10 in the Midwest and the especially the SEC schools are absolutely out of their minds.

You’ll get very few people to disagree with you about college football, I stopped watching NFL but I’ll watch college football every Saturday
LAST city I would choose to see my 1st game in the US, lol.
49ers‼️‼️‼️⭐️☑️
It would be funny if he said " im here in China Town to get a Scottish breakfast"😂😂😂😂😂
Shaun does a much later video where he does tail-gaiting because he is sorry he did not try it before.
Should watch Australian Football.
It's Detroit Lions
My only problem with college football is you never really know who the best team is.
@André, you know Shaun's wife is Brazilian, right?
No 🤯
@@european-reacts yep, she is ☺
American NFL football: A play is made. Somebody complains about the play that was just made. An examination of the play is made. A decision on the play is made. More complaints about the decision on the play that was made. 20 minutes of commercials. Repeat. College football is more interesting. Especially if you attend it instead of watch it on TV.
There is an important intellectual aspect to American football and baseball, too, but not everyone gets it. 😊
Detroit is the Lions not the frogs.
It's the Detroit Lions. Not frogs.....
College football, PENN STATE, 110,000 seats.
Also Penn State: Always 10-2, never 11-1 😂
You weren't expecting "Asian food" in Chinatown???? China being in Asia, what else would you expect there? Now I'm confused.😵💫
Kansas City has Taylor Swift
Go Steelers!!!
My father was a running back.
European as you say! My Friend of all Cities to visit in the USA New York City is Completely the Wrong One to Pick!
This is Metlife Stadium. It is one of the largest stadiums in the NFL with a capacity of 82,500. MetLife Stadium hosts the world's biggest events on the world's biggest stage and will serve as host stadium for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ By comparison the bigger college stadiums are larger.

You will need binoculars up there.
