Fernando Valenzuela is the personification of charisma. I still can't wrap my mind of how a humble boy from a little town in the middle of nowhere in Mexico was able to handle such pressure: in 1981 He paralyzed the whole of Los Angeles and the whole Nation that is and Mexico and the rest of Latin America and Japan most likely. His every pitch was being watches by millions! YET he played as if he was in his backyard throwing some pitches! For me that pressure is equal as the one the Beatles felt when they were presented in the Ed Sullivan Show! Yet he was never full of himself, he still was the same Fernando that came from Etchohuaquila. We will miss you champ and thanks for all the happy times you gave us!
I was 13 yrs old when I first heard of this guy & started admiring him.Mr.Valenzuela thanks for being my hero as a kid & still to this day, hello(ya'at'eeh) from the Northwestern edge of the Navajo Nation,Page/Lake Powell,Az.
QPD
Fernando Valenzuela!!!!gone to soon but not forgotten! You brought your talent as a young baseball player to Los Angeles! Thank You! Watching you play with my family as a Yankee fan I loved to watch you play!❤
It was important for the City of Angels to have a personality like ✝️Fernando Valenzuela✝️. It was the only way to bring the Latino community back into Dodger Stadium to help semi-forget that fateful year of 1958 in Chavez Ravine. Smart but sad 😢 move.
Glad Fernando got his flowers while he is still alive!
