The great challenge for every believer is transferring the head knowledge (which is so rich here) to the heart and feel it. Sometimes I feel like I'm not a Christian because of Christian hedonism. I understand we must be born again and God is sovereign, but boy I feel more sorrow than joy. I wonder and hope Mr Piper consistently grows and experiences what he preaches. Daniel Knight I know what you’re saying. I hope you are doing well on your journey. We will never find joy by looking for a feeling. It’s really counterintuitive. Joy is found not by looking for it, but by enjoying God. If we don’t enjoy him we don’t know him quite well enough yet.

Centuries have passed with scripture quoting. Alas! Still so many are stone hearted. Let lives be lived like some Paul's and some Piper's that speak of Jesus. And let that draw the stone hearted to God. No matter how much I debate, if my life doesn't glorify God, my words even by the scriptures will fall to deaf ears.

Many people assert this and that about Piper but when it comes to attention to the Scriptures and exegetical rigor, he leaves them by the wayside.

After much failure on my part (despite great efforts) to make this transfer, I no longer believe it is my ability but God's gift.
