Dear Sir, Is it possible to give a customized imperfection profile rather than assuming a buckling shape as an imperfection profile? Although I am aware that mode-shaped imperfection gives the least capacity of a member, I had a doubt for a long time how can we input a customized profile of experimentally measured imperfection. Thanks in Advance.
By experimental analysis ,measuring the surface deformations of the structure using techniques such as laser scanning, photogrammetry , or strain gauges, and then using this data to create the imperfection profile and this method is expensive and during design we assume worst case scenario of the structure thats why we use mode shapes.
@@bankrupteducator Thank you for your reply. Just Hypothetically, I am asking if I have to compare large circular tank experimental results with numerical ones. In a design scenario, it is convenient to go for the worst case which is mode shape. But if it comes to an accurate representation of the experiment and numerical analysis would it be wise to go for representing the imperfection profile as it is ( same as the one measured after forming or fabrication). In such an event can you say how to do it... I too am trying the same if I come up with anything, I shall post it in the comment. Thanks in advance.
I'm trying to verify this paper but unfortunately I didn't get results like the paper (the ultimate load and deformation shape ) could you please make another video and get the ultimate load in the paper
Yes it was... But here main objective is to validate your research... So for that you need to replicate it in your method... If you r using same static riks then you can go with it...
i did not find any video of belled pile foundation using abaqus
i want video on validation of belled pile foundation in Abaqus.

I think you had mailed me and i cleared everything. If it wasn't clear reach me again
I think it's in the paper was static riks not static general
