Tina clearly realised what a fantastic talent she'd found in John. He was a brilliant musician with a fantastic voice. And he wrote 'Music was my first love' , one of the best songs ever written!
He was so wonderful. Tina knew how to pick the best to be in the show and John was the best
Tina and John. Sing and rock together again now wherever you are now 🎙🎸
Thank you for the "Music" John. Remember him in the John Miles Set touring the clubs of North East England in the Seventies. He got the success he deserved.
I was lucky enough to see and meet John Miles when he was in Tina Turner's backing group in 1987 when thanks to Radio Clyde I won a weekend in London including the Wembley gig and we stayed in the same Mayfair hotel as the band. I last saw John in a BBC show at Edinburgh Castle in 2014 when he closed the evening in style with his fantastic 'Music'. Rest in Peace.

Tina and John singing Try a Little Tenderness, was really special. Mr. Miles was a very talented musician and wrote some great songs. The classic, Music, is one of my all-time favourite songs. John will definitely be missed

@@donspringstead1649 I've searched and searched and can only find reference to "a short illness" and that he died in his sleep with his family around him, so was expected and imminent.

There is this so perfect duet, from one Otis Redding's song, Try a little tenderness, recorded for always in our hearts, as if it was significative about their respectul relationship : profesional and friendly at the same time. John Miles the most underrated musician in the UK. He was different class. So talented , could play any genre, Brilliant with Tina and Joe Cocker, he so deserved more recognition in the UK. Europe loved him. Rip John Miles your music is played more than any other artist by me since seeing you in Glasgow 1978. 🙏

Apart from the Internet there's hardly been a thing on TV about him. He was a class musician, could play any genre. I play his stuff everyday whether its by himself ,Tina or Joe. Sad loss Rip John.

I am and have always been a real john miles fan. His albums, rebel, stranger in the city and zaragon are still my favourites after all these years. So glad he made it big time with tina.....shame more people didnt make it happen for him on his own. So so talented. When you loose someone so young springs to mind. Havent felt like this since Freddie mercury passed. He was a a part of my life although i never met him. Lots of love to the family. An amazing musician. Truely truely special. Gods speed xxxxxx

A lovely tribute to Mr Music. I remember John singing "Nutbush City Limits" live on stage back in 1984...that would be a few years before he toured with TT. He had the perfect pitch. Maybe that was the precursor.

Remember me and wife going to see Tina at Gateshead stadium. Being a Sunday we had a few beers in Dolly Peel. My wife was getting anxious and pestering me to hurry up. No problem pet! The guitarist is over in the corner; he’s the one that says when show starts.
