Hi! I’m Valeria, and I’m a Ukrainian expat and digital nomad, currently living in Italy. I first came here without speaking the language and being totally unprepared, but pretty sure this is gonna be an adventure of a lifetime! Im sorry you had to deal with that. While my experience in Italy was very limited, short vacation only, I found the people Italy so welcoming and warm.
I am grateful for the video you posted as its so very true! If a person is not happy with themselves- they wont be happy ANYWHERE! As you said, there is good and bad in all places and in and at various times of life for all people! Love yourself- be grateful and love life regardless of WHERE you are!

So sorry to hear about these negative comments! You’re full of positivity and happy! Don’t worry about these people who are telling you such bad comments! You are making your life in Italy and as an expat from France living in the US, many years later I still get some negative comments as I should go back to my country! I used to be offended but I realized that some people can’t help themselves to be mean and putting people down!! Just ignore these comments, don’t pay attention to these mean people!! They are probably jealous about you making a good life for yourself!! I love your positivity and great videos!! Dear, most of those comments are probably from people who never traveled or spent a significant amount of time anywhere abroad and didn't really understand that you were proposing a topic of discussion. Moving abroad for the first time or when you change countries, especially the first time, totally blows your mind and makes you question everything that you were programmed to believe in your home country. Moving from America to China back in 2012, for the first time, totally blew my mind and completely gave me a new perspective, and I am so happy for that. I love living abroad in new countries. Those people are projecting their own stuff onto you. I'm glad that you could explain yourself, sill, don't let their ignorance and judgement get you down. Many people who have never lived or spent a significant time abroad are living in a bubble and have difficulty seeing any other perspective. Many people are just looking for reasons to get offended. Keep doing you!

I'm a UA-camr too so I'm gonna be very honest (we'll see if you leave this up.) In the video you talk about you did CLICKBAIT: a dramatic title- to attract attention and get views, so please don't blame folks for their knee jerk response. Even in this video your title is meant deliberately TO ATTRACT ATTENTION. So I'm getting a bit meta but I know UA-cam behind the scenes...I find it odd that you blame folks for their reaction to something you put out in order to get attention. I'm sorry you were not ready for the negative response.

First time I came to Italy in 1999 and Italy stole my heart I ♥️ Italy never mind the haters they don't even like themselves how do you expect them to you 🤣
It’s the same as ‘if you’re not happy single, you won’t be happy in a relationship’ of course your surroundings, experience, etc have an effect but your happiness is also down to your own headspace. It’s also down to how you can take inspiration. Went to Florence in 2017, saw a lot of people cycling and appearing carefree, so went back in the U.K. sold my car and bought a cycle, felt a lot less stressed (and had more money to do more travelling). 😎

My opinion, for what it’s worth: 1. Maybe be a little more careful when choosing video titles… Maybe don’t go so hard on the Clickbait-ness, especially if you already know how many people on UA-cam comment solely on the title without even watching a video. Sensationalism is a double edged sword, and as you have seen, it could come back to bite you in the butt 2. : don’t give so much attention to people who make comments about content they haven’t watched based on the title. If it were me, I definitely would not be making a video to address the haters who had bashed me on a video they didn’t even bother to watch. Delete those comments, and move on. Don’t make a whole video addressing haters who probably aren’t watching this video either

just ignore them. They`re typical of nowadays mentality,. Meanig it`s all about showing off at any cost, judging without beforehand properly founding any opinion they might have (which in the case, would mean paying proper attention to what you say on the video and, more importantly...see it through). The result is, as you`ve seen a lot of rubbish. So, just ignore them. And please, keep up what is clearly a great work on your part. Best regards.

One month in Bologna and I find the people loud and pushy and generally rude. I witnessed three shouting matches /fights - one in a grocery store and two in cafes. Also, definitely feel the anti-American sentiment. I fully understand "when in Rome do as the Romans" I have learned Italian phrases, am patient but it doesn't seem to matter. IMO and as I have experienced there are many more civilized and enjoyable countries to visit.

Ok so just not done with this video. Ok 1st of all thanks for keeping it real. No matter where you live there will be good and bad things about it. That's just the way it is. No where is perfect in the world. That's impossible. So I'm just not going to finish this video. Not because I don't want to but to allow my voice to be heard. Don't mind them. I'm Italian living overseas, the video was pretty clear. It wasn't insulting to my country, I didn't feel offended by it and your followers know you're not ungrateful to Italy. It's about idealization and disappointment, cultural shock, stuff like that. Like you've said, one thing is to visit Italy as a tourist, now moving in Italy is an entirely different thing and that rule applies to all countries in the world.

But let me say this: choosing a thumbnail with a strong negative statement as "you won't be happy in italy" it's been a bit of a risky move. I'm thumbing down this video for the completely irrelevant title. I'm not a subscriber; I've never watched your videos before (and now probably never will). If you want to make a video addressing the contents or comments of another video, indicate that in the title.
Several people already addressed this issue and I am here to emphasize it again - pls be careful with using clickbait titles. They might give you a few seconds of fame but it is not sustainable. People who are really curious about your experience of what your title indicated (like myself!!) are gonna waste their time on the content that's not relevant at all. I disapprove of the internet bullies, but I am also not a fan of clickbait titles that add no value. Please focus on making content for your genuine viewers, instead of putting your energy and time on those haters who just wanna forget about their misery by commenting.
Italy hadn’t ruined you, you did it to yourself. There are countless videos of people going overseas & talking about their experiences good or bad. You need to understand that you will have people who will follow you or destroy you, the amount of negativity that people say about other countries is appalling you cant expect being a foreigner going into someone else’s country & bringing down the way they live. The first comment that you read was if you dont like it go back home. Which wouldnt be a bad idea just understand what you put out there people are watching & it can be dangerous if they know where you are. This low persona of vlogging is dying nobody cares what YOU think to others italy is beautiful. People dont need to hear what your doing just live there & enjoy for good or bad. I don’t think it is a good reason to move to another country because you just love the place. Because A) you will have to leave things that truly matter to you, such as family and friends and B) Just because you love the country, it doesn’t mean that you will have a good time as well….

I knew beforehand that Italy is not perfect, but I did a lot of research before I moved so I would be better prepared for some of its challenges. I also cannot stand racism in any form and this is one of the other reasons that I decided to leave the US. I simply just don't understand the hatefulness in too many peoples minds. Being a subscriber to your channel, I know of your love for Italy. From watching your videos I can tell that you are an intelligent, kind, and thoughtful young woman. This is cowardice, for sure, and it makes it no less disgusting, but the majority of people I encounter on a daily basis are kind and welcoming ❤️
