Both of you are right. Eye contact can’t be considered a factor if she likes you or not simply because it’s a personality thing. If she’s a masculine woman, she will look at your eyes. If not she will avoid your eyes.
I disagree with the whole masculinity thing if she gives you eye contact. Eye contact is as much of a cultural thing as it is an attraction sign. Some women look away because a man is intimidating, but she's also attracted to him. And some women just don't give eye contact because she doesn't give eye contact to anyone at all and she's not even shy. She just talks looking away.
