Clayton 104 was absolutely brilliant, no one saw that coming. Ive never seen it finished like that before. Simply sensational. The match itself was so intriguing. Didnt know who was gonna win until the final dart went in.
That finish put a big smile on my face.

His 122 also made me gasp with shock. Two treble 18s followed by a pig of a double to hit, double 7. Simply brilliant.

Soooo many great games over the past couple of days. I freaking love this game.
Rock is gonna be a real problem for a long time. He has a fantastic attitude as well. Very gracious in defeat and more than willing to accept loss to grow his own game.

Rocks going to win a world in time and many many tournaments you can see the talent doubles let him down today but the way he congratulated Clayton and took it in his stride was impressive and he’s a all round top lad

I liked seeing that bit of petulance from Clayton at the end of the fourth set, and those smouldering looks to camera. He often appears rather too mild mannered. A class performance against Rock. 👌

Wow josh went cold on the doubles at the wrong time... 6 straight legs to end the match damn that's hard to do at the stage. Had a feeling it was going 7 sets. Surprised I got that matchup correct haha!

Rock cracked under pressure a bit. Clayton isn't my favourite but I did enjoy the way he was playing and was acting in this match.

Josh rock was what? 26% on his doubles. Johnny is world now mate he's not pinching anything on his day Clayton can beat anyone. Trebles for show doubles for dough. There aren't many better at pressure finishing than clayton in the game.
@@kristianburton6811 Agree with all you say, apart from doubles Johnny was completely outplayed for the 1st 3 sets, broken twice in the 1st set, lost it 3-0 in quick time.
He knew he was in a battle, yep he won it, but it could have easily been a loss

We need different characters in the game. You'd have hated prime Bristow because when it came to arrogance there was nobody like him.
Price has backed it up, you don't win what he has and become world no.1. I think he's a misunderstood player and most of his antics are in reaction to a hostile crowd who are willing him to miss.

You can’t miss that many doubles and get away with it against a player like Clayton. Rock has so much talent but he’s got a lot to learn and experience. Plenty of time to do it, but today is not his day.
And as for Gerwyn Price… he’d better prepare for a battering at the hands of Michael Smith unless he gets his act together. Clemens or Soutar can’t beat him, but Smith can.
Don't you think you're predicting way too far into the future, mate?🤣Cause let me tell you, with what we've seen so far, nothing is guarenteed. This tournament is so far filled with nothing but shockers. Kim beating Wright, Bunting beating Chizzy, Clayton beating Rock, Williams beating Wade, Dobey beating Anderson, Soutar beating Noppert, Shindler almost beating Smith, Cullen storming through Heta....Just a reminder that no one should be underestimated and by no means should you leave out Clemens, Soutar, Cullen, Humphries and Bunting.
I'd say Soutar will beat him. Even if he can't outscore him he's good at punishing mistakes and sloppy legs
I'm sure all these players , ACTUALLY , playing in the World Championship will take your sage like advice on board......
Not sold on rock yet in particular he seems a little cocky considering he’s done very little on the big stage.

Rock was overhyped going in to this, there's been no new players come through in recent years so people got excited a young guy was looking good
I'd say the hype was justified. He's been one of the top performers this year. Maybe consistency on the big stage is missing
@@adambrough7969 has he though? Yes he won a pro tour event and he had a few ridiculous averages on floor events but there is no pressure in that. You'd think the way they're hyping him up that he'd won a few TV majors and yet he's only played in a handful of TV events.
Set play is a completely different format too and requires a different mental approach. It's the hardest format to win because you can win more legs but it's the pressure checkouts that find you out.
Rock is a good prospect but that's all he is right now. I've seen many young players be hyped up and fail to deliver down the years. There are no guarantees in sport, he could very easily succumb to the pressure of expectation and darts is definitely a battle of your emotions.
Statistically Damon Heta should have been more hyped up as he's been the most consistent player in pro tour events. Yet he's another player who's form doesn't transfer to the bigger events. He has had some massive averages too but cannot do it when it matters. So in future, don't fall for the hype.
Anyone offended by Price' reaction to missing a 180? I really hope Price gets knocked out, can't stand the guy. Jonny Clayton, a gentleman by comparison and has a good shot at the title now.
You must find life difficult if that kind of thing offends you.

In terms of overall tournament averages it's one of the worst up until the last couple of days.
Sure there has been some drama but that's been because the matches have been closely contested. Only one match so far have both players averaged over a ton, that proves standard wise is not the best.
