    "When I left Princeton, Minnesota in 1973 in a 1978 Impala..." Not only is Bob Backlund an inspiration and a pro wrestling legend, but he can also TRAVEL THROUGH TIME!!!

    Bruno is a good guy and stands by his principles. A lot of stuff happened between him and WWE, but contrary to popular belief, he's not a bitter man at all. He's very happy in his life and just stands up for what he believes in.

    Sad to say, a lot of modern fans say Backlund is boring because he wrestled in an era where the matches had more pure psychology and took a longer time between "high spots", and in some cases had no "high spots". For pure wrestling, he was on a par with the true greats like Thesz, Gagne, Angle, Lesnar, Flair and others who came from amateur wrestling and were great at it. Bob truly deserves the Hall of Fame.

    Rick Martel broke Ted DiBiase's RR record the following year,Ric Flair had broken Martel's longevity record in the RR match the following year even after that and won the WWF Title,which was the highly coveted prize of that RR as opposed to a mere title shot at Wrestlemania.Bob Backlund had actually broken Ric Flair's duration record in the ring the following year after that by only a few minutes despite being eliminated by Yokozuna.

    After watching a couple Bob Backlund and Darren Young segments I had to kno if Mr Backlund actually yelled like that when he talked. I'm not new to wrestling and I remember Bret Hart and his crazy feud back in like '94 when he wouldn't let go of the cross face chicken wing and he acted like that back so u can understand why I'm only used to seeing him in character. It's nice to see him like this but he has always cracked me up when he's acting crazy :-)

    This is a great interview. I do find Bob Backlund a both a fascinating and inspiring man. He is an eccentric in some ways but I mean it's great to see a legit icon not be in the all too familiar road of jake roberts, scott hall etc. The man is at terrific shape and looks great for his age.
    It was awkward at the end but why did the interviewer ask for final words then ask him another question?

  • @TheSportsCourier
    @TheSportsCourier  11 років тому +1

    In the fans' defense, I heard from multiple people she went way, way too long when listing the Backlund facts to the point where they started booing, but were respectful towards the legend himself. Plus, they paid their money, so they can cheer/boo. Just gotta roll with the punches like Donald Trump did.

    This is the real Bob. Wish he did more straight interviews. I'm sure he's got some great stories. Unfortunetly his hall of fame induction was a big unfunny skit. I was hoping he would give a "bret hart" style HOF speech.

  • @MPDUBMPDUB

    I was at the HOF ceremony he played us all. People were booing Maria because she did in fact go on way way way too long. Every sentence it seemed started with Bob Backlund this and Bob Backlund that. I get she was a fan but she went on way too long for an induction speech.
