It's hard and time-consuming to train a dog, but if you can't do it, either find someone else who can train the dog for you - or give the dog to someone else who will love it and train it. She shot a puppy for the "crime" of being a puppy. It sounds like she has anger control issues.

How about this, if you don’t have time to train the puppy or you don’t like the puppy, then just give it to someone who will. People who kill innocent, defenseless animals like this are likely to kill people too, and that’s exactly what she’s trying to tell Trump.

When city people want chicken for dinner they go to the grocery store.
When people that grow their own food want chicken they go outside, kill, and pluck a chicken.
City people name their dog. Rural people staple numbers in the eats of their livestock.
I’m glad that I am a kind, soft hearted city guy that pampers my cat who doesn’t do anything his whole life.
Farmers have to be more hard hearted - livestock have to earn their keep.
When my T shirt wears out, I discard it. When something on a ranch is not helping the family survive, then … well they don’t have the luxury of being too nice.

That is not true. There are definitely bad dogs, but they aren't identified by being fourteen months old and not wanting to hunt.

Avoids them as much as she can but if they start following her around yipping at her, we’ve had to pry a couple dogs out of her mouth before she could shake them like a ketchup bottle

If she can't deal with a 14 month old puppy trying to enjoy it's life, how would she treat the sick, elderly and less fortunate Americans? She thinks this shows her as capable of handling tough situations. I think it's just the opposite. What would she do if she had a serious situation arise with another country? Start a war?

Ever since I read the article about her shooting this poor puppy, I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. My heart hurts so much for an innocent pup who was never given the time and training to become who he could've been. Not only did she kill the puppy, she also killed a billy goat because it smelled bad and butted her children and dirtied their clothing. She only wounded it with the first shot and had to run after it to shoot it again. She also wrote about how she killed three horses who had been with them for 25 years. As much as I love Stephen and his writers, I think this one missed the boat, and the subject matter is not something to laugh about. Just my opinion.
There is nothing funny or humorous in the monologue. I look forward to Colbert show but this was heartbreaking. Colbert made it worse. I’ve been crying since the story first broke and Colbert monologue started my heart to break in a million pieces. My puppy is 17 years and 6 months. He has accidents every now and again. I could never be upset with him. I always tell him , it ok Baby don’t worry. I just hope there’s a special place in hell for her.

Yes, I agree. It's a tough situation to know a public figure abused an animal and nothing happens except jokes.
However, humor is a real way to express our focus on what's important. Just look at it that way. You and I don't have to laugh.
@@MyOutsideSocks Comedy is the medium to deliver the message. But no, I don't laugh at everything that's joked about. Political cartoons are similar; as sometimes it's just irony, and sometimes you can laugh.
OTOH, I laughed out loud at the recent revelations about the widespread conspiracy to overthrow the 2020 election with 18 new indictments in Arizona. Ridiculous crimes. Yep, comic relief.
Well, jokes are one way of ridiculing something as well as highlighting the inappropriateness of it. Juxtaposing one thing against another can be funny, and it can also help us realise just how inappropriate something is. I know most people would realise pretty much straight away that it's grossly inappropriate, but using humour made it easier to share more details of the story to show just how horrible it was. Still, I bet the writer's room was a difficult place to be when they were putting that one together.
