Thank you, Taranki one my favourite locations, it's got what it takes ... Kiwi humour, a scenic coastline, an awesome mountain and a pleasant micro-climate. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Cheers. Tim.
Another awesome video on your trip. Good to see another video from you. Hope all is well with you and your family. Thank you for sharing. God bless and keep you and your family.
Hi, nice to hear from you, I hope you are keeping well in these challenging times. I am posting fewer videos at the moment because editing this trip around New Zealand useing old and new video showing some of my favourite places is very time consuming, much of it was filmed before I even knew that UA-cam existed. Over the years cameras have used a number of formats ranging from DVD tapes, Mini DVD tapes, internal hard drives and various memory cards. My early cameras didn’t have floating lenses or steady software, requiring the use of steady software when processing the footage to try and achieve the best result. I enjoy doing it as it reminds me of some of the wonderful places I’ve been lucky enough to visit. Take care. Tim.
Hello Mike, it was nice to have your virtual company, if I were to move to New Zealand it would be a close call between Wellington and New Plymouth, they are two of the best cities I have ever had the pleasure to visit, so much to see and do.
@@Timsvideochannel1 When I was a school boy I lived in Plymouth and the local authority set us up with pen friends in New Plymouth. I have always wondered what the place was like!
@@ADMIRALSCORNER Now you have a better idea, the two places have a lot in common, both being set in beautiful parts of the world, surrounded by a magnificent coastline, ideal for surfing and creating happy holiday memories. Did you stay in contact with your pen friend?
Tim, another classic, high quality compilation. Stunning views - particularly the helicopter flight! But the steam train and river steamer combination were up there with atmosphere and high quality presence. Not forgetting the traction engine symphony! Beautifully shot and edited again. Peter
Hi Peter, I enjoyed editing this one as it gave me the opportunity to re-visit some memorable moments, such as the train ride, the cruise in an old Isle of Wight lifeboat and that stunning helicopter ride. Taranaki is a truly wonderful part of the world, it’s got the lot ... Kiwi humour, a scenic coastline, an awesome mountain and a pleasant micro-climate. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Cheers. Tim.
Hi Christopher, I'm glad you enjoyed it. New Plymouth is an apt name, as the Taranaki region has a lot in common with Cornwall, a wonderful coastline and pretty inland scenery, only the volcano is missing, although the landscape created by the china clay workings can look a bit like some of New Zealand's thermal areas 😉
Hello Tim! You told me in the last email that this video took up a lot of time. You can see that immediately because it turned out great. The whistle concert for the big boys was very nice at the beginning. I also know the two nice people at minute 7:43 quite by chance👌. The helicopter shots are impressive. Very nice for me, because you know that I won't get on any more sky tractors. With this in mind, Tim, stay healthy and put on your gas mask. Hopefully this Corona Theater will be over soon. Best regards from Hans from the Mühlviertel and Cheers. 🍻🇦🇹
Hello Hans, you were observant to recognise me with my sister reflected in the mirror surface of the metal sphere at 7:43. Some parts were filmed before I even knew that UA-cam existed. Over the years cameras have used a number of formats ranging from full size video tapes, DVD tapes, Mini DVD tapes, internal hard drives, along with various shapes and sizes of memory cards. My early cameras didn’t have floating lenses or steady software, requiring the use of steady software when processing the footage to try and achieve the best result. It is worth the effort because it reminds me of some of the wonderful places I’ve been lucky enough to visit. I am being careful to obey the lock-down rules, hopefully it won’t be too long before the Vaccine allows a steady return to normal living. Take care and stay safe. Tim.
@@Timsvideochannel1 All right, Tim! I guess I didn't look very closely. I saw you in the mirror and thought your wife was standing by. Can happen, I was a little distracted because I stuffed cigarettes next to it (JPS). In the last 20 to 30 years the technology of data storage has changed so much that it is almost impossible to keep up. The good thing is, it's all gotten a lot faster, better, and cheaper. My first computer in 1995 cost the equivalent of € 1700 and was a sleeping pill. Today they'll throw you a tablet for € 200, and that's nimble as a weasel. And it can be 10 times as much. A lot has happened there. Best regards Tim and Cheers 🍻.
Hi James, this is the part of New Zealand, New Zealanders keep to themselves, it really is a little bit of paradise in an otherwise mad world. Foreign holiday makers skip New Plymouth because it's not on the way to somewhere else, it is a destination in itself.
Hi, being in quarantine can be very tedious, here in the UK were are in lock-down until at least the end of February, I can't wait to get my freedom back, I really miss travelling. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Take care and stay safe. Tim.
Hi Tim. Thanks for this video. Nice to travel behind Steam Incs J Class loco for a change. And I wondered what the summit of Mt Egmont / Taranaki looked like. I suppose you are finding Covid-19 has clipped your wings for a while.
Thank you, I'm pleased you enjoyed it. It was a good day out with Steam Inc, they are really nice people, I try to visit NZ when they have a tour running. Mount Taranaki dominates the skyline, the views from the top are breathtaking. I live in the UK and most restrictions have now been dropped or eased making it possible for museums, heritage railways and other visitor attractions to open with almost no restrictions. I have my first overseas trip to Germany booked for January 2022, sadly it's going to be a while before I get to see my granddaughter in NZ.

Hi, I hope you are keeping well. Taranaki is a ideal place for people who love the great outdoors, surf riding, fishing, trekking the mountain paths and rock climbing. Take care. Tim.
South Island is very scenic, North Island has more volcanic activity, I'll be publishing more videos showing North Island in the coming months, the one I am working on at the moment shows the "Forgotten World" a truly prehistoric landscape, not normally visited by world tourists, although popular with New Zealanders. It will take another week or two to finish and publish it, I'm sure it will make the choice between North or South Island more difficult.
Hello Neil, this video was shot over a ten year period, although it was also part of my 2019 tour. There is something special about this piece of New Zealand, it really is a happy place with its stunning coastline and magnificent mountain, surrounded by pristine native forest. There is nothing not to like about Taranaki.
Thanks for sharing our little paradise to the rest of the world. Beautiful video and once again thank you.
Thank you, I'm really pleased you enjoyed it.
Thanks for a thorough visit to this area of New Zealand, including a flight over the volcano! Excellent video!

Beautiful! January in the summer! Here in Canada, winter!
Canada is beautiful in all seasons, it's an awesome country. Vancouver is also a noticeably happy city, even in January.

Mount taranaki is that one Volcano Tim?
