it's so refreshing to hear a watercolour artist talk about yellow-magenta-cyan colour theory, I usually only see it used by digital artists! I have always found red-yellow-blue to make my colours muddier than I like them to be. very comprehensive video and not over-complicated, thank you!
Great! Learnt a lot! Thankyou!
Like magic!
Great exercise with a limited pallet, thank you! 💛❤️💙
I use poster color and HIMI gouache. My favorite combo for using dark blacks is Prussian blue, which is a muted cyan, and burnt sienna, which is a muted red orange. I have tested with CMY mixing before, and whenever I mix a black using CMY, it ends up with gray instead of black. My cyan gouaches had added white on it, and my only deep cyan is a phthalo blue watercolor, and my most favored magenta is an opera rose color. For mixing "blacks", is is it okay for me use phthalo blue watercolor to go with my gouache, or would Prussian blue be a good substitute?
Adore these color mixes 🎉. I may have to make myself a mini palette using these 3 colors. The mixes are MY colors ❤
Hi Kristin! Where can we find cyan watercolor?
My favorite “cyan” is cerulean
Thank you and what are your yellow and magenta colors and brands please?
The link for the longer version of the video does not work. I’ve looked through your channel and I can’t find this particular color theory chart. Can you help out with the name of the video or where I might find it. Thank you, honey.
Very nice! Thank you fro another wonderful video!👍❤
oops! *for😅
I tried to do this but kept on getting ugly brown instead of gray. How do I know which paints in my color palette are actually complementary to each other?
Well iam back again iam from SHERMAN, TEXAS❤
Great lesson. Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
It's so interesting 😁👌 Thanks so much for this video ! It's so interesting... again 👋😁🌞🌈
Hi hi. What yellow please?
Well now I know what yellow not to use … Windsor Yellow Deep. That was a frustrating exercise; not a single black from the 50/50 mix of complimentary colours. I learned a lot however. I’m guessing PY3 is the pigment to use which is Hansa Yellow Light. I’ll give it a go tomorrow 😜
Amazing video thanks for sharing my friend 💫✨🙏🥰
