So many people talk about (and TO) Latter Day Saints in such negative and hateful ways that is very hurtful. Just like those who believe differently, has a different skin color or nationality hurts when hate is spewed, it can also be very harmful. Thank you for helping to spread the love that our Savior Jesus Christ would want us to have. Greg, I thoroughly enjoy the information that you share on your show! You have so much knowledge! Thank you for being bold enough to stand up and speak! Please continue to share power through your program!

That was an awesome interview. Thank you both of you for getting Christians unified instead of divided.

    I wish everyone would approach "the other" in this way: respectful and searching for what we have in common. It's what the world needs. It always makes me scratch my head when Christians attack other groups of Christians... Aren't we all working toward the same thing?

      Good points. The respect and friendship is very essential for us to learn. He has taught us how we should act when we're in unfamiliar territory. And a good man. When we run into people that don't agree with our view we can emulate how to act from this.
      There's a natural reaction sometimes when we are around others to have a gut reaction. The gut reactions can be dangerous because they can easily offend, but also wreck our credibility.

    Thankyou both Greg and Jeff for the work you both do and share.
    At 30 years old I became a convert to the church.
    I came to know and love the "man" Jesus Christ in the New Testament. I wanted to know if He really was the Son of God and if He really existed. I had studied with Jehovahs Witnesses, 7th Day Adventists, World Wide Church of GOD, Pentacostals. It wasn't til I met with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints missionaries ( with great fear tremblig and prayer)
    that I had pure knowledge that burned into every fibre of my being that Jesus was The Christ THE SON of GOD and that He lived and now still lives and that He loves me and every single person ever born on this earth. I KNEW that his love permeated in through and around this earth and universe and that He loved everyone exactly the same and it didn't matter good or bad, white or black or
    race or religion or even
    didn't believe in him. If every one could taste of that love it would change the world..... if all would only truly seek HIM they would know for themselves.
    I have always maintained The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is either Christs true Church or the church of the devil...... BUT AS I READ THE BOOK OF MORMON THE TRUTHFULNESS OF IT IS BORN WITNESS TO MY SOUL EVERY TIME. And when I listen to General Conference and the Prophets and Apostles most everything they say makes sense and rings true...... God bless everyone searching for truth and bringing it to light to others.

      @Jack Fuller I live in the South, I am totally understanding to this comment. Other denominations come after us in full swing... as if they're fearful of us. You should see a new temple opening in the South. 😳 Folks crawl out if the woodwork to slam everyone and anyone who visits the Temple open houses. It's frightening what people say to others visiting, whom aren't even members. I had to step back and realize that possibly, they are fearful of us BECAUSE they do not have knowledge of who we are.

    What a brilliant conversation! Very much appreciate Pastor Jeff's open heart and respect he's willing to show - truly Christlike. I wish we Latter-day Saints and our Evangelical cousins could have more discussions like this. We have much to learn from each other.

  • @mikecarver8166
    @mikecarver8166 Рік тому +33

    I appreciate this conversation. I've had so many so called "Christians" and evangelicals tell me I'm not Christian or I don't believe in their Jesus so I'm damned. That left a really bad taste in my mouth. I'm sure they are sincere but when you condemn me you lose me. I know the Savior. I've experienced his love and tender mercies in my life. So anyone who wants to tell me otherwise I will question their Christianity and faith.
    Having said that, perhaps Latter Day Saints need to be more approachable and open in our sharing and most of all - listening. I believe there are good men like Jeff who can do a lot more good in the world finding commonalities between us, and I believe Jesus would do the same, then condemning each other. Isaiah speaks of reasoning and as a faithful latter day Saint who longs for strength I believe we can pull together as believers in christ and help this chaotic society. Too much ink has been spilled on "Are Mormons Christians" instead of locking arms together and bringing all to our Savior regardless of our individual worship of him. I appreciate and support any effort to do that.
    LDS article of Faith number 11: "We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may."

    • @acuerdo3
      @acuerdo3 Рік тому

      Thank you for your message ! I agree ! It is crucial that as Christians, we ne to lock arms together and serve together. Too often, we look at our differences and forget our similarities. Christ wants us (Christians) to help one another and be there for one another, not fight against one another. I truly respect Pastor Jeff for his work and willingness to build on common grounds. As Christians, we can do so much together but we need to focus on our similarities and do what Christ would have us do for His glory and to help people come unto Christ and be healed.
      I too have heard so many times people saying that I wasn’t a Christian because of I’m from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. So I am very grateful for Pastor Jeff and the bridge he is building between Christian’s because coming from an LDS, it would be well received but coming from him, it would be easier for evangelist or other religion to see that we too are Christians.
      I must admit that since Pastor Jeff has started his channel, my heart has soften towards the evangelical church. I was so hurt and by all the comments said against the church. We might not agree on everything but that’s okay. As long as we look up in the same direction, which is Christ and strive to love and serve one another and see one another the way that God sees us, regardless of our religion, we can do much good (together) in this world.

    Greg, one of the VERY best discussions of our faith and the differences...which seemed to be rather minor, all being said...between what Jeff believes. Only thing I wish had been pointed out to him, and maybe it already has been, was that we open all temples to the general public before they are dedicated to the LORD. Outstanding job, very enjoyable listen and SO worth my time. Wish this could happen this way with Southern Baptists and other faiths that are so "anti-LDS". I think the thing that helped me the most, in understanding the Temple ritual, was already understanding the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, and their relationships with Heavenly Father, Jesus/Jehovah, and satan. I had been told that story my whole life, so seeing it portrayed in the Temple was very familiar to me. Then the promises and blessings just came, and they were not weird or strange at all. Also, to me the way we got these blessings/promises/covenants is less important than the fact that we have them, and they are beautiful. They are promises that come with very special, beautiful, and powerful blessings for our lives both in this life and the life hereafter. The garments are for our protection. The covenants are to protect us. To me, that’s all that matters.

      Also pertinent to the discussion on masonry and the temple is an understanding of where the mason’s got their rites. Seeing a restoration of the true rites should bolster confidence in our temple covenants instead of seeing a conflict with what masons practice. Joseph didn’t copy masonry and the proof of that is that his enemies (those who were masons and left the church) never claimed that Joseph copied masonry.

    I enjoy watching Jef'fs HellloSaints because for years I have wondered what it would be like to have a conversation with an evangelical about what they believe and what I believe as a Latter-day Saint. With both sides having zero interest of converting. Jeff's video fill that desire.

    I love Hello Saints and Jeff's honest quest to get to know who we are! It falls right in line with how I have been thinking for many years. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints I LOVE to share my belief in Jesus Christ with others and I appreciate where others are coming from in their own belief. I totally listen to every Christian band and performer out there because their music resonates with my soul and I am also a huge fan of The Chosen....appreciating the feeling I get from how Dallas put human situations and personality in the biblical stories. I love how Latter Day Saints have been involved in that and are bridging the gap between the "us verses them" whole scenario we have seen for decades. It really is not a matter of us verses anyone, in my perspective. I am a convert of now 30 years(21 when I was baptized) so I have had experience with many different denominations. I just think our purpose and mission on this earth is to unite with Jesus, not divide because we think we are right and everyone else is wrong. Platform's like youtube are a blessing and a curse in this regard but channel's like Jeff's (and Greg's)are awesome and very much how I see the future of all the religions...seeing each other with different and new eyes. The culmination of these new friendships and kindness and love are yet one more sign we are moving much closer to the return of our Lord and King, Jesus Christ! It is exciting! I love the friendships and trust that are being built! It is that much closer to Zion! Yay!
    Thank you Jeff for doing what you are doing, for being honest and brave and for building bridges of friendship and love!!! It is inspiring! Thank you Greg for all that you do.

I learned in my career that to get respect you have to give that respect and it's one of the things that's most distinct about him is that he absolutely extends that respect first and he does, absolutely! Respect, brother. Total respect. Ya can't gripe about ANYTHING he does. He's a modern embodiment of how faiths should interact and converse. It's great. Check out his channel. Great interview! Thank you for inviting Pastor Jeff to come talk to you. I had seen his videos of what happened to him when he went to one of our General Conferences and enjoyed his take on it, but I had moved on with other things and forgot about him. I'm interested in how he responds to his continual reading of the Book of Mormon, and it's good to see that he appears to appreciate it on some level as being from the House of Ephraim, and is reading the book for "educational pursuits"; at least he's reading it! I like his take on those evangelicals who think that "Christianity" is lining up and shouting at the attendees of General Conference and how he does not agree with those tactics. Like I said, I really liked this interview and feel that it was fair, and illustrates the many commonalities we have and also provides a brief explanation of those things that "make him recoil"! I just hope that (if he reads these comments) he knows that we're not so different, and are all on the path back to our Father.

      @Michael Parry You have an interesting perspective on what it takes to “get” someone to join the LDS church. I can promise you that there isn’t a single member of this church capable of changing someone’s heart and/or their beliefs - that change or conversion can only come from the Holy Ghost.
      We would be presumptuous (to say the least) to believe we do the converting or “getting”, we are simply instruments in Gods hands… He does the converting through the power of the Holy Ghost.
      It is wonderful to listen to someone like Jeff who has a sincere desire to understand the differences without him feeling pressured or without the need to bash.
      Watching Greg and Jeff communicate today is an example of true Christianity and brotherly love, something this world is sadly lacking.
      Also Michael, I would be remiss if I didn’t thank you for your kind and respectful comment, clearly you are a great representative of our Savior Jesus Christ😇

    • @michaelparry1383
      @michaelparry1383 Рік тому +3

      @@BarbieHitsBack First of all, I appreciate what you say and your are 100% correct. People don't convert or "get" people to come to the Lord. You are absolutely correct in stating that the "Holy Ghost" is the one that touched one's heart just at the right time to open the door.
      Now, I should have not used part of that comment "Be carejul - this is how they get you" This is the rest of the story. I heard second or third hand, true or not, that a message on a church's reader board had a message such as "Do not read the Book of Mormon, this is how they get you"
      I usually never look at videos when others discuss the LDS Church. I did watch one of Jeff's "Hello Saints" videos. , then another, and then another. He is taking the correct approach to find out all he can in the correct way and sharing his experience with others.
      Jeff may not realize it, but I believe he is removing the rocks, tilling the soil, and adding the nutrients to prepare for that day the Gospel seeds will be planted.
      Have a very Merry Christmas and enjoy the Gift of the Savior.

    I have always wondered why the creedal Christian’s get very defensive towards the Church of Jesus Christ and it’s members when Jesus Christ gives his opinions toward those who love Him but may have some differences sighted both in Mark 9:38-41 and Luke 9:50.
    IMHO the days are on the horizon where believers in Christ regardless of sect are going to have to link arms and stand for Christ.

    Thanks, Jeff, for your thoughtful and Christ-like approach to understanding those who may have different beliefs.
    One small point concerning judgment and eternal destiny: I believe our eternal destiny hinges on what we have become, what our character is, not which boxes we may have checked, what works we may have done, or what knowledge we have acquired. "What we have become" includes our premortal experience, our mortal experience, and to some degree our post-mortal experience. (There is also the concept of "eternal progression", which is not well understood.) There are two aspects of character that seem foundational: love and truth, where love becomes the motivation for all we do - same as God. Maybe also an absolute respect for agency.

    Thanks for having Jeff on. I've seen several of his videos and I appreciate the respect he shows the church. I myself sometimes attend our local bible church and I love the pastor's knowledge of the scriptures. My first time attending, he taught about prophets, the restoration of the priesthood, and the restoration of the temple prior to Christ's second coming. All of this from the Bible.
    At the same time, he has called the LDS church a cult and as a member of this church, I am hurt by that as I know better and find it odd that in our church with a very educated US membership, that we are all just seemingly blindly by a false prophet. Which of course we don't believe.
    I share all of this to say, the mutual respect Jeff shows is very appreciated. I think we have more in common with our understanding and belief in the Bible and Christ as our personal Savior.
    Thank you Jeff for not labeling us a cult and saying we are all going to hell. It doesn't comport with the God I have come to know and worship. That God loves all of His children, whether they be muslim, Hindu, or born again. He loves us all and we believe we will all be given the opportunity to accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, whether in this life or the next. God loves us all, and thank goodness He does.
