Sounds like a great plot for a movie. It happened around Christmas time so even more distressing for those men's families. It seems a giant wave would have washed the crates away, too, and there should have been plenty of other evidence for such an event.

My theory is that one man went out and saw something in the water next to the cliff. He accidently slipped and the others heard him screaming. The other two knew they had raincoats to help them to float in the water. The other guys maby tried to climb but noticed that it was to steep to climb and they swam instead to the first man reather then climbing but they got attacked by some sea animal. And maby they sadly drowned. Thats my story

As they say they saw some strange lights those they didn't seen in last 20 years. That's make sense to believe some one or something is observing them. In my theory that day something like a spaceship landed on the water causing big waves surrounding light house. Two man gone out to see what is causing to make those heavy waves after that they caught by those strange things and in fear thay screams so loudly, hearing that remaining person run outside of the lighthouse quickly from the chair and forget about coat,because of that chair loses balance & fall down. After three of got controlled by those strange things and disappeared. This my theory...

Those on the land claim no rain in the area - but if could have stormed terribly on the island and dissipated before it reached land. (Just a weird thought). Then a rouge wave got them on the 15th. I support the rouge wave theory.
