Subtitles? Didn't even know they had subtitles. I'm talking about that damn 'thump thump thump....thump thump thump thump thump....thump thump thump" that continues through the whole video. Someone is typing on something right by the mic.
***** It is most likely the handheld microphone lying on the table that has not been turned off. The noise starts each time he bumps the table, causing it to rock.
I suppose I was a little frustrated. Plus i should mention that I have nerve deafness so drumming noises drown out a lot of the conversational level sounds. So for me this was a whole video of that typing noise. Was like the audio version of water torture or something.
Great video. Typing didn’t annoy me at all :) Learned quite a bit. Interesting that the initial machine translated compiler was so much slower than the original handwritten C, e.g. for loops converted to iterators with closures. This wouldn’t be a problem with a language that gave you closures with no overhead. Makes you realise how important it is to write “good” code in Go to be fast. Very interesting trade offs.
The noise isn't typing, it's the microphone bouncing around or some sort of interference whenever Rob touches the podium. Could use various AI audio programs to filter it out and clean up the audio.
Whoever is typing totally ruined this video. That typing is maddening.
***** I think the sub-titles are computer generated...

Sounds like typing to me. Its rapid and constant.

I'm a huge fan of Rob Pike but he dresses really weird! A carrot-coloured suit with a turquoise T-shirt? WTF!
Who the fuck cares...?
