I won't lie, I almost expected him to go for Kuni. But hey, his Katarina is pretty good.
Arslan didn’t even need to pull out kunimitsu or kazumi. Doesn’t even need a coach for the grand finals. Cbm is just one of the Koreans who’s not used to fighting Pakistans like knee, jeonding or ulsan.
Kuni is a bad match up against noctis thags why arslan didn't picked her.

@@beam5655Arslan is just fundemantaly the best in the world. No one can utilize those movements and timings as accurate as he does no matter what tekken game he plays. He used to dominate tag 2 and tekken 6 back in pakistan. He is the undisputed goat of tekken.

So like, what's up with Noctis? Back when I was playing 7 more regularly some time ago I remember most top players thinking he was pretty underwhelming/mid to low-mid tier. Did he just get crazy buffs, or is CBM just cracked?

He actually received a few nerfs. To be honest most pro players don’t really know every character. This is often a myth many people like to believe. If you look back at may pro player’s tier list from season one, many of them placed Akuma in C tier.
Also pro players kept saying Dragonuv was top tier season one when you had Akuma who hadn’t received any nerfs and was at his most broken state. You also had normal characters like Paul who had better tracking moves, mids, lows, and better damage output.
I also remember those same pro players saying Kazumi was dead after she received a couple of big nerfs in season 2. Many of them saying she was now A tier or even as low as B tier. Then Arslan shows up and defeats Knee. Then many pro players start saying Kazumi is really good and maybe even broken.
The truth is pro players only know what they have experience with.

Grand finale felt a bit anticlimactic. Not to downplay CBM but damm arslan vs ulsan were one of the tightest matches. Also the trophy ceremony lacked budget in comparision to the last TWT. Probably saving it for tekken 8. Ggs to all.

CBM got there on his own merit. Cant really complain since we got to see something other than kuni or zafina in the grand finale. Though it was a bit anticlimactic and ulsan would've been a better opponent.
