- Russia launched a massive aerial attack on Ukraine overnight, targeting energy infrastructure in Kyiv and Lviv cities. 76 cruise missiles and Shahed drones were used in the latest series of Russian strikes on the war-torn country's infrastructure. Ukraine's energy operator said it could impose new shutdowns "due to new damage to the equipment of Ukrainian power plants caused by Russian strikes." An eight-year-old child was wounded in the central Kirovograd region, while falling debris wounded two in the region surrounding Kyiv. Watch for more details.

Ukraine is a large country, you cannot carpet bombs with 55 missiles and 22 drones.
You will need more than a thousand missiles and 1000 drones to cover significant areas of Ukraine . Even with 80% of Ukraine left, it still is a bigger country compared to many European countries .

This is a misleading headline. "Carpet bombing" is one thing and "Bombing the energy sector" is something else. Carpet bombing is what Germany did to London and what Britain and the US did to Germany during WW2 and the US/NAT* did to Mosul and Raqqa more recently. The Russians have been trying to minimise civilian casualties during the war in Ukraine and the civilian Deaths in the time since Feb. 2022, have been less that the civilian casualties in Gaza, in the first two weeks of the present war there. Present day Gaza is an example of REAL "Carpet Bombing".
