I believe one of his quotes was: "Some of our fans have stopped listening to us because of our change in direction, but only come to our shows for the visuals and our appearance. Those fans can stop coming." And I agree with him 100%.
DIR EN GREY is the already a legend and they are the definition of J-rock. On another note, Ain't Afraid to Die is one of the most powerful songs I have ever heard in my life.
me hace llorar es increible el sentimiento que me invade inexplicable, no se que peroesto es la perfección misma , ellos siente la musica en todo su esplendor , que saben transmitirla y saben llegarte de verdad . magnifica interpretación magnifica banda .
this song makes me cry, so beatiful....full of emotion, the part of the solo its incredible...Kaoru and Die are a great duo. ..... The voice of Kyo .......The bass of Toshiya ........and the drums of Shinya The best song
It must be the 20th time that I'm watching this video, and for the 20th time I'm amazed, for the 20th time it thrills me, for the 20th time it makes me cry inside...
I don't understand how other fans could be disappointed with this, I found it to be a beyond beautiful performance... All who have gotten the honor to see them live are very lucky! And just to add on, it's so cool how their personalities emerge as the perform, (Die going crazy there with everyone else remaining so calm was quite entertaining) xP
Thank you so much uploader.....I love this song..I love Dir En Grey......I love Kyo and I still love him and his band all time...This song can make me cry...It's so sad..I don't to see his tear....
wow I absoulutely love this song, It is so amazing, I love this live version, It's on the special edition, I wish i had the special edition on ebut it's to expensive and nowhere in england, oh wells, I think it's nice how you've devoted it to someone
Yes, this concert may not be the best, yet kyo can still seem to make everything perfect. This song is beautiful and the emotions he puts in it is amzing!
I'm so maaaad!! I was at this tour in LA, and we didn't get any oldies :( We did, however, get Akuro No Oka. But this! I would have sobbed like a fucking baby because it's so fucking beautiful. Uuuuugh.
I hope so too, they're always changing their style, so i wonder where they'll go from Uroboros. I'd like to think they'll get a bit softer rather than improve things like Gaika Chinmoku......
Oh my. I can't believe this was played in Rose Trims Again. o.o I love this. But I think there's little chance that they'll ever play Taiyou no Ao (my personal fav) again.
waterdolphin - They played it for the -Japanese- part of Rose Trims Again, not the American part of the tour, which makes it a little less surprising. If they had played this on a U.S. tour, I'd be more impressed at them for taking a risk. They seem to think that their older songs aren't "metal" enough for U.S. set lists or something...
FoochaChan - Don't let the title of the DVD fool you, it wasn't the American part of The Rose Trims Again tour that was recorded but rather the Japanese part of the tour instead (and the DVD costs $80, so good luck ever getting ahold of it) Dir en grey will probably never play songs like Ain't Afraid to Die, Mushi, or Embryo on an American tour, and it's a shame.... cuz they really are such magnificent and touching songs and their U.S. fans would go nuts if they ever played them here.
lol that is because his voice is developing from then since your vocal chords are muscles you can't really take them back to where they used to be and his are getting a lot stronger, also singing from the "belly" I think you mean the diaphragm but he sings very high pitch in the other songs which you have to sing from the head (falsetto) so he gets used to that setting and then can't use the diaphragm after so much really. (I also sing and have tried going from a high to a low song)
does anyone know where i can find just the music of this song with no vocals? like with the orchestra and everything at the end? i have been looking for ages and have yet to find anything,...
@daniphenton Why does everyone say that? I can't go watch a single old Diru vid without 1 person saying "The old DEG is better" or "the new Diru sucks". Honestly, I enjoy both old and new Dir en Grey. I may listen to Dir en Grey's newer stuff, but doesn't stop me from enjoying their older stuff. Kyo said himself that he does not care about what people say about them or the fact they left Visual Kei. "That was 10 years ago, and people are still giving us crap?" Kyo said.
His voice does sound different, but it has always been changing through the decade. =/ Same goes for his screams/growls. Maybe he sings like this because it's more comfortable? But to me personally, his voice sounds more nostalgic, and his previous voice sounds like, he's living through the pain right then and there. In general though, his voice just sounds a tad deeper. Or of course, like the default answer, he was sick or damaged his voice.
Pisses me off they won't play songs like this, Embryo (Kisou version) and -Mushi- on their American tours. It's not like they'd lose their "brutalness" if they did. And it isn't like none of their U.S. fans ever listened to the albums before Withering To Death.
i love this song, this song makes me fell in love with Diru..but hearing this one, i still believe that the one he sang in 5 Ugly Kingdom is much better than this...but still,i'm kinda love this new change...
Kyo's voice is amazing but in this concert it was somehow not that good. Seems he was having problems with it. About the performance, amazing as always.
He was just having vocal problems for this specific live. Im sure he can hit the old highs still. Theres no questioning the fact that his voice is not as great anymore but its still good.
Nothing will ever compare to their 5 ugly Kingdom performance of this song. I saw DEG live in the front row and paid a crap load of money too.. they are awesome live and their hard stuff was awesome, but this song made me fall in love with them.. Best lines ever: A tear falls reality is cruel, isn't it? You saw the season's final colors The four seasons and your colors too soon will disappear The snow melts, on the street corner, the flowers bloom You saw the "hues" softly dissolving

This has always been one of my favorites and live it is just amazing.
I will always be a Diru fan.
*sniff sniff,.. not crying... just got something in my eye.
me hace llorar es increible el sentimiento que me invade inexplicable, no se que peroesto es la perfección misma , ellos siente la musica en todo su esplendor , que saben transmitirla y saben llegarte de verdad . magnifica interpretación magnifica banda .
my god... they could still play it..... just amazing
It's so amazing to see them perform this song again after such a long time.
this song makes me cry, so beatiful....full of emotion, the part of the solo its incredible...Kaoru and Die are a great duo.
..... The voice of Kyo
.......The bass of Toshiya
........and the drums of Shinya
The best song
aintはこのLIVEのが一番好きだなぁ・・・
去年の国フォもよかったけど、やっぱりこの城ホ
such a beautiful song!! most of the live-performances of dir en grey are better than the music-videos... and toshiya looks AWESOME!!! *-*
It must be the 20th time that I'm watching this video, and for the 20th time I'm amazed, for the 20th time it thrills me, for the 20th time it makes me cry inside...

he's just amazing, THEY ARE just amazing, damn! *speechless*
This song never fails to send chills up my spine and/or get me just the tiniest bit choked up.
I love how respectful the audience is, those moments of silence before Karou plays and the piano at the end stops your heart.
Dir en grey is only band that can made me cry like this. Hell I didn't even notice I was crying until my uncle told me so.
This used to be one of my biggest favs in old Dir En Grey days. It's still pretty cool. :)
Thank you so much uploader.....I love this song..I love Dir En Grey......I love Kyo and I still love him and his band all time...This song can make me cry...It's so sad..I don't to see his tear....
they still play it!!! hell yeah!!
im very happy that they played this song, i thought they scrapped all their old songs.
wow I absoulutely love this song, It is so amazing, I love this live version, It's on the special edition, I wish i had the special edition on ebut it's to expensive and nowhere in england, oh wells, I think it's nice how you've devoted it to someone
Kyo's voice FOREVER.
I love this song so much.
He sido el Like 1,000
YO >U< GENIAL
no siempre sucede y menos en un vídeo de mi grupo favorito TUT
Amazing guitar solo variation
Yes, this concert may not be the best, yet kyo can still seem to make everything perfect. This song is beautiful and the emotions he puts in it is amzing!
I finally got the DVD. Amazing.
Damn... this song makes me want to cry.
Most beautiful song in the world

This is soooo amazing
I will always love Direngrey
wow. i had no idea he said that. it sounds like he would say it.
La primera vez que escuche esta cancion llore, es demasiado triste y hermosa T.T
I'm so maaaad!! I was at this tour in LA, and we didn't get any oldies :( We did, however, get Akuro No Oka. But this! I would have sobbed like a fucking baby because it's so fucking beautiful. Uuuuugh.

Omfg. If they ever play Garden or Cage again I think I might have a stroke of happiness.
4:22 - 5:42
How he can still sing that part so perfectly? O.O
The greatest dir's song ever. =]
Sorry bad english.
Oh my. I can't believe this was played in Rose Trims Again. o.o I love this. But I think there's little chance that they'll ever play Taiyou no Ao (my personal fav) again.

ohh no problem ^^ i feel very happy at listened in this new dvd

That Kaoru solo seriously killed me..
asdsadas *^*
pero que adorable la cancion >.
I just realised that Kauro's guitar is the guitar he used in the original Macabre Tour and they used a similar light show Ooo
Where and when did they play this? I seen them in pontiac and they didn't do this :( it's one of my favorite songs too.
lol that is because his voice is developing from then since your vocal chords are muscles you can't really take them back to where they used to be and his are getting a lot stronger, also singing from the "belly" I think you mean the diaphragm but he sings very high pitch in the other songs which you have to sing from the head (falsetto) so he gets used to that setting and then can't use the diaphragm after so much really. Holy shit Dai's mini solo kicked Kaoru's in the ass. ahaha! Wow, he added such pretty little fancy work to it. xD
omg EPIC!
does anyone know where i can find just the music of this song with no vocals? like with the orchestra and everything at the end? i have been looking for ages and have yet to find anything,...
Oh my god, I just realized he messed up the lyrics at the end xD
But it doesn't matter, it's still amazing!
This song is simply AMAZING! la canto pensando en vos Vale ^^)
killer solo

They changed so much...
I think this was only on the limited edition.
Yeah... I realized that this was Uroboros -breathing- in Osaka-jo after I wrote that comment... But at least they played it period.
Fuck.. die handles that guitar during the solo.

Yay a year ago since i loaded this video ^^ and i still dedicating to them :)
@Adienne16 :) no problem
Yo también *00*
i love this song, this song makes me fell in love with Diru..but hearing this one, i still believe that the one he sang in 5 Ugly Kingdom is much better than this...but still,i'm kinda love this new change...
totchi's head is epic
Kyo's voice is amazing but in this concert it was somehow not that good. Seems he was having problems with it. About the performance, amazing as always.
@Xtelavalo Yo también! LOL
"Phase"?
Kyo's always had the angry thing going on. It's not a recent occurrence.
Besides, it's not like this is a particularly "happy" song anyway.
he smokes too you know....
wow, kaorus solos where better on 5ugly kingdom o.O whats wrong?
He was just having vocal problems for this specific live. Im sure he can hit the old highs still. Theres no questioning the fact that his voice is not as great anymore but its still good.
modern day freddy mercury
これ明らかに無理なアレンジの歌詞すぎて最後自分で笑っちゃってるだろw
