    Our process has evolved from the traditional 2 bucket using a single mitt method to using 1 bucket with 12 presoaked Autofiber Double Flip Microfiber Towels to wash. They are 4 sided in 1,100gsm in size 8"x8" $13.95/3 pack. We rotate 4 sets of (12) for mobile exterior washes. 2 are always ready to use. 1 on standby in garage and 1 usually soaking in an APC rinse ready to be washed.

      Good reply. I love rinseless washes for my truck and car. Unfortunately for some people (like myself) that have nerve damage with their hands/arms its easier for us to use a thick microfiber wash pad and/or rinseless sponge. Either way, I've been pure rinseless for nearly a year and haven't had marring or scratches with one bucket microfiber/sponge since then. fyi, living in PA I wash weekly regardless of the the weather.

    I’ve actually had superior results with rinseless than traditional two bucket or soap method. I always pre treat the vehicle with the treated water and the dirt just melts off with the sponge. Be careful not to use too much ceramic drying aid as it will leave streaks. Less is more. I use one spray per panel and works to perfection.

    • @epap1375

      Absolutely no rinseless wash has the cleaning power to remove stubborn road film especially on the lower panels. This is usually a oily/grease film and you really need something alkaline and/or strong surfactants to break it down. The rinseless can’t encapsulate this stuff like regular dirt it’s just sits on top and then you pick it up with the drying towel spreading it everywhere.

    im in the process of starting up my detailing business, I live in Vancouver bc (well greater Vancouver area anyway) and the eco restrictions if actually followed (most of the wash guys out here aren't lol ) are pretty intensive.. I'm trying to set myself apart from the beginning, a being eco and allergy friendly , and b working on semis since transport is a huge industry here (in fact I'm a driver currently) I like the rinse less wash idea for cars, but how well do you think they would deal with heavily soiled vehicles and greasy and extremely dirty semis? my second question is what in your opinion sets the diy stuff apart from something like onr or the other rinse less wash products that are out there...
    couldn't you do the same thing by using onr and tech choice ceramic spray?

    • @StaySlick
      @StaySlick Рік тому

      That was proposed for the original sponge made “Big Red Sponge” as a way to counter its stiffness,it would essentially soften it up and make it much more pliable.

  • @Hardcaslte
    @Hardcaslte Рік тому +2

    The thing I don't understand about the black sponge is that it's counter intuitive. It's black, how do I know if it's dirty? The McKee's yellow sponge makes the most sense, you'll immediately see any possibly dirt that might be in the sponge.
    Do we wash our cars with black wash mitts? No, that doesn't make any sense, and that's actually why when I bought microfiber wash mitts from the rag company I didn't buy the grey ones. Dirt looks grey on the mitt, I don't want a mitt that already looks like dirt. I don't get it. At that level you're 100% relying on the soap/rinseless wash to protect you, because you can't rely on your eyes at all.

    • @StaySlick
      @StaySlick Рік тому +1

      That makes sense. The problem I have is when I had the red sponge it became permanently dingy after the first couple washes so I was in the same boat anyways. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @Hardcaslte
      @Hardcaslte Рік тому +1

      @@StaySlick Lol I haven't done enough rinseless washes to see what will happen to my yellow sponge. I'm trying to force myself to do rinseless washes and know it won't scratch. I've only done it twice so far.
      I'd be interested to see your take on rinseless washing a car that hasn't been washed in a long time. My brothers white Tesla was ceramic coated 8 months ago and he never washed it afterwards, he brought it over for me to wash and the power washer didn't even move the dirt on the car. Out of curiosity I sprayed N914 on it and it pretty much just rolled over the top of the dirt and didn't do anything. The type of dirty where the car was still white, but you'd swipe once with the wash pad. flip it, swipe once, and rinse it out. The dirt was just stuck onto the paint.

    • @StaySlick
      @StaySlick Рік тому +1

      @@Hardcaslte yeah that’s tough man because we need to make sure we are getting proper maintenance especially on ceramic coated vehicles. In that situation you’re gonna have to use a higher pH soap such as carpro descale, Gyeon restart or chemical guys clean slate to loosen that kind of dirt. Another thing you could do is do an APC rinse on the vehicle ahead of your contact wash. Here’s the thing I am a proponent of rinse us washing on vehicles that aren’t too neglected. For example, if I went through some mud and did a few donuts that dirt is still fresh, so I would do a thorough pre-rents, and then a rinseless wash if I was dead, set on using rinseless wash. When contaminants have been sitting on the paint for months and months and months at a time, rinseless is not gonna cut it in my opinion.

    • @Hardcaslte
      @Hardcaslte Рік тому

      @@StaySlick Yeah and actually on my car as my maintenance wash I just use Gyeon Q2M Foam and it cleans the car like crazy with no contact wash. The only thing it sometimes has issues with is if it's been raining and I get the little black dried spots behind the wheels, otherwise everything is like a contact wash, even the brake dust is completely off the wheels.
      Looking back I should've done that on my brother's car, it's the only thing where I think back and say why didn't I do that?
      For the rinseless wash on a car like that, you're right about the APC wash. I've seen videos of people doing that, for some reason it just seems super weird to me to flood your paint with APC lol. But that's only an extreme situation anyway.
      Anyway, thanks for the vids and replying! I always love watching detailing videos and learning more about this crazy hobby. Everything has changed since I started cleaning my cars properly 7 years ago, it's crazy.

      I think that rinseless washes add more lubrication and encapsulates the dirt while lifting is better than traditional soap and of course a muddy vehicle is a example of something you hit with a pressure washer first and then go in with your solution

    • @StaySlick
      @StaySlick Рік тому

      Exactly

    • @StaySlick
      @StaySlick Рік тому +2

      Yeah bro 100% here’s the problem rinseless wash lifts dirt off better than soap it does but soap also does a great job if it’s formulated correctly. Where the scratching is induced though is the drying if people don’t use a drying aid, then they are scratching it while they dry, not so much while they’re washing it. Rinseless solves this problem because rinseless has lubrication in it and you are literally just drying up the solution, which has a ton of lubrication. I’ll be honest most days. I’m doing nothing but foam washes with a drying aid, but I am also a big fan of rinseless when it is necessary at the end of the day customers are paying for an end result not a process.
