I see you found the turn I mentioned yesterday 😊. Yes when people who don't know St. Thomas talk about our parish they often don't expect us to have taste and style because we "come from the bush" but little do they know. St. Thomas residents are proud people. We work hard and we do what we can to actualize our dreams, which most often start with having a beautiful place to call home😊
I was born and raised in St. Thomas, and I am shocked when I hear other Jamaicans talk about St. Thomas. You would think that we all live under trees and eat dirt. I hear other Jamaicans, who have never been to St. Thomas say they would never go to St. Thomas. what they need to do is look up the history. St. Thomas was a thriving, beautiful and rich parish. We had the Goodyear tire factory, the banana wharf sugarcane, piece, and button factories people were and still is hard-working. People were building concrete homes from the late 60s in St Thomas. These neighborhoods are not new. St. Thomas people are ambitious and they help each other. They save their money throw their partner and help each other build homes. I don’t know anywhere else in Jamaica where this is done. Other parishes also benefit from our resources like water and sand. Yes, the government ignores the parish when it comes to roads and other development but we’re not sitting around waiting to be saved. And here is something that will shock some people, St. Thomas people go to foreign too. and we take care of our families I could go on and on, but before you continue to speak negatively of St. Thomas, take a trip there and get to know the people and the communities.
We always hear those same things said about St Thomas. Madge grew in St Thomas before going to foreign. Tom grew in America before choosing to live in St Thomas. We love St Thomas. ❤️❤️🇯🇲❤️

Love the homes, they have such hugh landscapes, no matter what parishes you venture in Jamaica you will be breath taken by beauty homes.

The beach access beside Whispering Bamboo Cove is a place the public can access. It is not closed off. I keep family cookouts there sometimes. I am not sure who owns the lot but so far they have not barred us😊 In Jamaica if you own property that is on the beach the beach still belongs to the public but with corruption this is not often enforced and people lose access to to the beaches. I am still grateful for areas like that little spot.

Be careful with the swimming though. The hurricanes have done a number on our beaches so there are strong undercurrents, sink holes etc. The barrier reefs have been eroded along the coast from Harbour View all the way up to us here in the east. Cow Bay in Yallahs is the deepest part of the sea in the Americas so I can just imagine how much more so that is since the passage of Hurricane Ivan. I say all that to say the sea is inviting but be cautious.
We appreciate the warning. Madge doesn’t swim, and although I can swim I’ve no experience with ocean currents. We’ll be careful! Bless up ❤️🇯🇲
Good evening my beautiful friends, fantastic drive out through retreat, what a little gem of a area, some magnificent houses there , i particularly loved the castle house and the bamboo lodge , amd the beautiful Caribbean Sea peaking through the trees, absolutely loved this rural oasis thank you so much for sharing brother amd s huge amen to Madge 👍🇦🇺🇯🇲👍🏿

Had no idea St. Thomas has such nice homes. I heard of many places in Kingston, Montego Bay, St. Andrew etc.
St thomas has alot of mansions plus we're hard working & ambitious

We did Google it when we got home and are considering staying there for a day or so. It looks really peaceful there. 🕊️
