One is expected to not have any bending moment or shear action in truss elements, since they are 1D elements. Looking at your example it doesn't appear so, can you discuss that issue?

You are right. This model considers all the joints as welds. Use truss elements as it considers the joints to be pin joints.
Why do you apply forces on fixed supports? It doesn't make any sense.
A truss is supposed to be only in traction/compression, how can I do that?
How did you make it act like truss while you didn't explicitly tell the program to connect all elements with pin joints??
ahaaaaaaaMaybe because the element size in your model is larger than the largest truss bar
