Love what he has to say. I will copy one of Tangerine Dream's songs every once in a while just to see how the song is structured. However, I have 60 albums of my own original synthesizer music. Yes, I said Sixty. My favorite TD years was from 1979 to 1987. I create music to make my ears happy... Not much music can do that these days.... I do love the S-A-W album "Iconic." Wonderful music on it.

Pour me souvenir...

I just realised my favourite TD years are when Johannes was with them.

Great to see and hear Johannes. Such an unassuming guy and great musician. When he joined TD the music did indeed become more multi-layered and complex... listen to Tangram! What an amazingly beautiful record. You can really tell what Johannes brought to TD in terms of proper composition and more jazzier chords... I bought all his solo albims up to White Out (incredible CD) but lost touch after 1990 or so...

Yes, the way Tangram Set 1 unfolds during the first 6-7 minutes is reminiscent of a classical composition and obviously owed a lot to Johannes. I suspect so do many of the shorter pieces, such as Choronzon and the singles from Poland. And of course the single White Eagle

it's funny that Johannes talks about making new music and in the background there is White Eagle, first recorded in 1982

It is a good remark. Kurt Ader released an album PRIORITY and this version appears on it. It looks like a reprise between the two musicians using the Kronos.

Yes, I have sometimes felt JS's style is stuck somewhere in the 1980s, good though it is

@@piglet5287 Don't get me wrong, there is still a lot to explore within older styles.

Uhm... but I can drive a car without understanding how the engine works! :o

That's because modern cars are very easy to drive, and forgive many driving errors. I think the best drivers do understand how their cars work

Absolutely agree with his comment about the immediacy of Kronos- as with its predecessor, the M3, I found it, despite its complexity, very inspirational and one can knock out entire albums ranging across many soundworlds quite seamlessly. The inter-connected engines and the sequencer makes the creative process sometimes scarily powerful :)

I too loved my Kronos for the years I had it but could not get on with that touch screen. but yep an amazing engine.... I do miss it but heck it was one heck of a deep machine! I wonder what Kprg will bring in the future Kronos wise?
