The last video. Miss you, Ed. Please keep the channel going, Jim!
Thanks Jim for honoring Ed’s request guessing as it’s been 4 days this might of been the last video you’ll had in the backlog. They helped us greatly in this time.
To anyone just discovering the channel the good news is there’s over 1500s great videos where they deep dive into comics like no other channel. As well as better in depth interviews with creators. No other interviews are like theirs as they ask the questions no other UA-camr has. Plus they’re usually an hour long instead of the few mins people upload from cons.
Probably the dopest thing they started doing was going through some of the books with the creators themselves. A lot to the early Turtles books have videos like this giving insight no documentary has. Rob Liefeld also went through a few as well. So much great content in their back catalogue to look at here. I’m sure I and many Kayfabers will be watching all the videos we’ve missed as well as rewatching many more.
I hope when Jim’s ready or up to it he does continue the channel in some way as no other UA-cam channel did what they did. Most Comicbook channels mainly just complain about the current state of comicbooks. Others just like to cover books as they relate to movies or shows. And others just like to talk about what’s the current “hot book” in regards to selling them online. None do the deep dive commentary like they did. Not only about the story but the craft of making the comics and the people behind them. It’s just to special to the history of the media to end even if no one can ever come close to filling Ed’s shoes. Totally understand Jim’s decision whatever it is. And if he does continue it there is no pressure to keep it daily that is a lot to ask. I’d suggest it could become weekly instead where he features different guest hosts going through their favorite books that inspired them as well as their own books.
Long Live Kayfabe!

Very well said
RIP Ed Piskor.
Hearing Ed’s excitement about future books got me right in the heart. Its going to be so heavy when the uploads stop. Thanks for the memories.
It took me a few months to be able to finally watch this video. RIP Ed Piskor.
Thanks for the shout out homies. Miss you Ed! I'm actually out of these my friends. I could get more, but packing and shipping them is just too sad. So there's that. Maybe one day I'll hit up Press Pop for more, but not yet.
End of an era. What a journey. I akways joked watching these videos was an education but i meant it. I wish you well, Jim. And to all my other Kayfabers, thanks for the recommendations and laughs. It's been real. Rest well, Ed.
Rest well Ed. Thanks for uploading the rest of the videos yall recorded Jim. I’m assuming this is the last one. End of an era.
I guess this is the last video. Thanks Jim, Ed, and Tom. Jim & Tom good luck and many blessings to all your future endeavors. Ed RIP and once again many prayers to the Piskor family. Thanks for the info, the variety of comics you all looked at, the humor. Thanks, and wish things didn't go the way they did. However if this isnt the last video, this comment can be disregarded. Once again many thanks, also thanks for the Shoot interviews really dug them. ✌️
Cartoonist Kayfabe will never be the same without Ed, but it will always be remembered for the fantastic team up that it was. This is hard to say... but maybe it should remain as it was even though letting it go seems impossible to imagine. Jim, so many people have expressed their gratitude, I hope you know that you are appreciated. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into CK for all of these years, so many episodes, so much inspiration, what an epic undertaking - and what an amazing gift to all of us who have appreciated it so much. If nothing else, it would be good to hear what your intentions for CK might be... even if that is undecided at this time. Peace, healing and all the best to you... and thank you again.
Cartoonist Kayfabe was such a huge part of my life for the last few years, this is just heartbreaking. I’ll always watch this content as long as it’s available to watch. ❤
Been a few days now, so guessing this was the last vid. Thank you for uploading all of these, Jim.
I worked in the industry for a brief time as a colourist. Was part of the Satellite Soda crew and my first colouring work was for Image’s Popgun anthologies, which I’m positive you were also a part of. After that I got asked to colour that Obama issue of Savage Dragon, the cover to volume six of Scott Pilgrim and a heap of other cool stuff.
In the early 2010’s, I unfortunately did nerve and muscle damage to my drawing hand. Had to dip on all the projects I was involved with at the time, which lead to a dip in my mental health and me dipping out of comics and falling out of love with comics all together. I still bought stuff but it wasn’t the same, was just out of habit.
Nearly a decade later though and Kayfabe brought back that love during a really tough time in my life. The two of you being around the same age as me, breaking down and loving a ton of the same artists and comics I loved as a kid, going through those Basic Training sections of Wizard; it brought my love of comics flooding back when I very much needed it. I don’t know if I can go back to working professionally but it feels amazing to be drawing, colouring and being creative just for myself.
I had genuinely forgotten how much I loved it all. I will be forever thankful to Kayfabe for helping me find that love again.
That an amazing journey. Stay creative.
I really appreciate you, Jim. Thank you for continuing to share these videos with us, and for being there for Ed's family.
I'm happy that such a cool and personal book was the last one. Love you Ed and you too Jim.
Jim's adhouse Street Angel is one my favorite print jobs, never would've guessed it wasn't pink paper, and turned me on to him early as someone to watch.
Hard to process what's happened, wish I found Cartoonist Kayfabe sooner because it's nothing short of amazing.
Thank you for sitting down and sharing your thoughts in so many videos, it's very therapeutic and appreciated.
Best wishes to Jim and the Piskor family, RIP Ed.
Just found out today. God fucking dammit. Thank you guys so so so much. Thank you for bringing my love for comics back. Poor Ed. So sorry. Fuck. What he did was amazing. His legacy will live on and inspire. Godspeed
Much love and respect to Jim Rugg and the Piskor family. Thank you for this wealth of comic book insight. No matter what you decide to do with the channel moving forward, you've already created an exceptional tribute to the medium we all love.
Woa the paper color is a brilliant idea. Ive seen similar stuff on small format books but at this scale its glorious.
rip Ed, you will be missed.
It was a great run. Thanks cartoonist kayfabe
Jim, thank you for showing love to my zine back at DCAZ ‘22, you guys showed me so much cool stuff and I would’ve never gotten back into comics without you and Ed. I hope you are at peace and I hope Ed’s legacy as a creator and curator is maintained. If this indeed the last upload, I also get the gesture of retiring the channel to honor his legacy. Take care.
Rip Ed
I'm so glad I was able to get a copy when this was first announced! Rip ❤
Japan Book Hunter did a nice tribute to Ed. He had several copies of the Japanese Omni at the time. He's sold out now.
Seeing that this is more or likely the last post on the channel I want to thank you Jim for uploading the back catalog and all your contributions to make this podcast. I stumbled on this channel late last year with your guys video of the Crumb Sketchbooks seeing the name of the channel and that y'all did "shoot style" interviews with other artists I knew I was in for a treat. At times it felt like this was created for me with all the niche things intertwined from Ed's music taste and dark horror comics to Jim's love for wrestling and badass skater ninja comics I knew I had found a new favorite channel. There's so much more shit I could keep yapping about but honestly all I want to say is thank the both of you for deeping my knowledge and love for this shit and introducing me to so many great comics and artists. R.I.P. EDDIE P
Ed we will always love you RIP
Jim we hope you are doing OK
Mr Jim Rugg, please keep KAYFABE running!!!
Picked this up a little while back. It's pretty awesome.
damn it, for purely selfish reason i wish Ed was still around and y'all lads were still doing ya thing. I don't exactly know how to properly express my feelings, all i can say is i'm gonna miss these two boys talking comics something terrible. Good luck Jim and rip Ed
I’ve watched videos from this channel from time to time since the beginning of last year. Not really a comics guy, but I enjoyed how they broke down the art in some books. Even got me to buy the Sin City curators edition. Just found how ten minutes ago that Ed died. What a world we live in. Rest in peace.
We miss ya Ed ❤️
I really hope Jim continues the show later on down the line, in some sort of way. Of course, I'll always appreciate Ed's insights and recommendations. But, I'm sure there are still countless of comics worthy of Jim's commentary, either as stand alone, or with Tom Scioli (who by the way also has a great channel). I just got back in to comics a few months ago and I was literally just starting to learn about the best of them. But nevertheless they pointed me in a direction that I'm grateful for finding. Thanks guys, you're work here is unparalleled.
Damn, I guess this was it. Miss you Ed.
Rest in Power, Ed. Thank you for all the knowledge.
Thank you.
Thank you Jim, I became a fan under unfortunate circumstances and wanted to say I appreciate you honoring your collaborators' wishes. Truly respect the body of work you guys did. I wish I could have discovered this channel sooner. 😢

Thank you both for the knowledge
Just hearing Ed's talking about him making future books it's just devastating. He should still be here. Rip Eddie. Long live cartoonist kayfabe
What an awesome book!
Why is wouldn’t Ed just fake his death and move to Japan, do work under a pseudonym.
Love you guys - thanks for all the videos
I miss this channel so much.
A stunning work of art!
I miss Ed Piskor aligned in brotherhood and sharing insights with Jim Rugg. The Most Dynamic Duo.
Thanks for everything, Ed. Give 'em their marching orders, Jimmy...
Mr Jim Rugg, please keep KAYFABE running!!!
RIP Ed

really fucked up what happened to Ed . Rip
Is this the final video?
That is what I thought, good one to end with. But let's hope that Jim can find a way to deal with it all and continue.
❤
Well it's been a few days without a video. Is it time for the solo adventures of Jim Rugg?
Miss you ed
I hope you're doing okay Jim, you're a good friend for uploading these last videos for Ed. I sincerely hope you continue on, CK is one of my favourite channels and has helped educate me on so much comic history (I can't be the only one)
Rest in Peace Ed! This book is so dope and I hope to someday own it!
Japan book hunter did a viewing of Ed's Hip Hop Studio edition. ua-cam.com/video/1YzggIeNsA8/v-deo.html. It's really touching. Thanks Ed, miss ya homie! Kayfabe forever!
🤘
Cool manga.
RIP Eddie P
Rest in peace, Ed
thank you
Was this the last Episode? So sad.
This was by far the best thing on UA-cam. Ed and Jim got me into so many comics. It’s so sad to see it go. If it does.
Please keep it going in some way. Get Ed to 100000.
Miss you Ed, and thank you Jim I hope you're doing well, we miss you
Kind of bittersweet for the Kayfabe Effect to strike on this book.
Those colored pages are real cool
Keep the channel alive Jim! Don't let THEM destroy what you built!
🔥💙🔥
Dude, may need to pick this up to complement by HHFT omnibus.
I just bought some back issues of Ed's and Jim's work, which are excellent as always. Also donated a small amount to Ed's gofundme.
My sincerest condolences.
Jim, this work is important.
Will this be the last video for the channel?
Yes but if you’re subscribed they are posting the Patreon videos. So they will have about 60 of those until they end. There’s a lot of great content between the videos are recorded. I’m going to revisit from the beginning all the videos , I started about 3 ish years ago so there’s another two year worth of videos so visit.

Drake on some ed piskor vibe
You’re like school in the summertime…no class.
False accusations
You really wanna bring up schools… btw i love this channel and and i wish ed were still with us.
Hoping @japanbookhunter can get together another run.
I was able to order a copy from Presspop’s website. Looks like they started selling it outside of Japan after Ed’s passing.
I just saw his video where he was planning on one more run of them soon. He said it bitter sweet for him to have them after Eddies passing.
❤
