Like many Viet Nam combat veterans, my GF started hookup before I even landed at Saigon, I couldn't help a tear shed for Robert for what he is going thru. My GF didn't even have the guts to send me a "Dear John" letter and only found out by calling over an overseas phone call. Before I was drafted, I was even propositioned by a woman whose husband was a Marine getting the hell beat out of him at Khe Sanh. I declined. The lesson is no EM should be attached to a woman while being deployed as they almost always cheat out of supposedly "lonliness".

I think it was more a mind defense mechanism of disbelief rather than outright stupidity but I agree if your daughter is tearfully calling you ain’t no really disputing that unless ya kid is a known liar, brainwashed at a really young age or one of those people who make up lies for fun I don’t think they would lie to u their parent about it
