I think I make better drinks doing it in my particular way. It's similar to the official beverage sequence, but I like to do it reversed. Pump the flavors in the cup, pull shots while steaming and pour milk afterwards. In all honesty, I feel like the current beverage sequence was made up by higher officials who think we have all the time in the world. Honestly, WHY is it okay to let shots sit in the syrups for cold drinks, but not in the hot ones? WHY does it matter? There's inconsistencies in beverage quality it just annoys me. Also, now that I think about it, the beverage sequence might explain why more than HALF THE TIME baristas forget to add my vanilla to my espresso shots! That's why I put the syrup FIRST and then the shots! SO I DON'T FORGET THE FLAVOR! And if Starbucks revises it to the way I make it, I'm gonna SCREAM!!
this is so helpful thanks! -new and struggling barista :)
