I was surprised by [Numbers 35: 16-21], where God allows capital punishment for murder. I had always thought of the Ten Commandments where "Thou shall not murder." [Exodus 20:13] would have forbid capital punishment. I understand now from this reading that there is a distinct difference between the murder of another individual with enmity and that of capital punishment.
