I teach preschool and you need to celebrate all the victories you get. I have noticed that one great week celebrated transitions into another great week and so on. It's all about your mindset. I’m a first-year teacher as well! We were going to start in the hybrid model, but last minute moved to starting in virtual, but the kids are still split up. I totally get how the two groups feel SO different!! And it’s really weird to get through two days and then repeat yourself. I can never remember what I already told them or not. Haha! Thanks for sharing your week! ☺️

May I suggest (as a new teacher) that you always put their name and the year on all their “special” artwork. Us moms appreciate that as we save and archive their schoolwork. 😍😍😍

Most of the time first day of teaching is really exciting because you will meet another set of kids. I am also a teacher from Philippines for nine years and all of them were fruitful years. I really like the decoration of your classrooms.

With the school that I'm student teaching at, we had 7 kids in group A and 6 kids in group B so I get what you mean with how strange it is and how much faster you can get through material. You are amazing and I needed to hear your end-of-video Ted Talk before I start this crazy year! One note of caution - be careful what you do for UA-cam during school hours (when the kids are at special or recess). Of course I don't know your district's rules, but my district really cracked down on teachers not doing things directly related to school or planning during that time. Just a caring thought so you don't get in trouble! :) Don't ever lose your mindset... you will do great things, and so will your students!
Your classroom looks great and most importantly, it functions for you and your students! 💜 I can't wait to have kids in my room again after covid and finish my classroom set up videos!
I used the junior teacher method as well! I love having a go to student during the day and they all get to feel the love!! Our theme is race cars this year so I call them my "Crew Chief" :)
Are there no windows in your classroom? I find it soo bizarre! Do you need to get the kids outside a lot through day to get them fresh air and in tune with a bit of nature/natural light?

how do the kids feel about hybrid? i was just thinking that they are maybe sad that they don’t come back until next week. we’re online until further notice + our principal has said that he personally doesn’t think we’ll come back at all :/
