Apple just released iOS 17.5 Beta 1 to registered developers and soon to Public Beta testers.
This update contains a major change to the Battery Health section in settings for the iPhone 15 series, issues with Podcast transcriptions, and more. So in this video, we cover those new features, and we also talk about the performance & battery life on iOS 17.4 Beta 4, along with when to expect iOS 17.4 RC and the final release. Enjoy!

Wow, I can’t believe were almost to iOS 18 already, I’m keeping my expectations low though.
We just got a leaked Camera app redesign image today (UPDATE: Reportedly fake) on MacRumors/9to5mac, which implies some level of visionOS-inspired redesign is coming. Re the macOS one, Apple may be pulling a Logic Pro for IPad and the rumors are saying it’s a year or 2 away just to prevent leaks-we could possibly see it this year. Remember that for macOS 11’s massive redesign, there wasn’t a single leak/rumor about it until the day of WWDC.
Did anything change on watchOS if will there be a video about it?

Is this worth updating to: 13 PMax on 17.4.1 and I get terrible wifi connectivity and overall feels slow

Quick question, why am I unable to see my "Bringing Devices Together" setting toggle on my iPhone 15 Pro Max that's currently running iOS 17.4.1.
Similar iPhone at home has the feature available. Any idea why this is?

When the stable version of iOS 17.5 is released, if I'm currently on the iOS 17.5 developer beta with developer and open beta updates turned off, can I install the stable version directly from the Software Update section, or do I need to wait for a subsequent version like 17.5.1 or higher?

Since I did this update my phone suddenly switches off after every 10 minutes and shows 10% battery when I switch it on. After I restart it the battery is over 60%. This update sucks.please tell me when they are planning new update?
Hey Brandon, Massive change that wasn’t mentioned is with the Crosswords within Apple News. Now connected to Game Center and a ton of stat tracking and new share image. For us crosswords things are BIG update!

Ever since I upgraded to IOS 17.4.1, my phone has been noticeably heating up and losing battery rapidly when using the UA-cam app (the app has been updated to the latest version). It has become quite frustrating for me. I hope Brandon can help me convey this issue to Apple for resolution. Thank you very much.

"When I play a game in landscape mode or keep it in that mode, the animation in the dynamic island looks very bad when I put the phone on silent, receive a call, or charge it. When a call comes in, the dynamic island moves here and there, doesn't open in the same place, and the animaton crashes plz do something brandon and the app closing animations are very jittery and when i open control centre it also feels too jittery
Please can you speak about the HomePod especially the HomePod mini, there is so many bug after updating to 17.4, and on Reddit and forums there is so so many user complaining about it.
The HomePod mini is frustrating to use, WiFi crashes, not pairing with Apple TV and so more!
Try resetting them. I have three and they all work fine with my Apple stuff

Anything introduced in the beta of a point release and then pulled before said point release ships is never guaranteed to come back, unless it’s a feature that was previously announced as coming later.

I normally just do the public beta, but I clicked on the developer beta option, thinking it wouldn’t allow - it did. I’m signed up as a developer but I don’t pay the fee - I just like to keep my hand in.

I am from EU but this third party software downloads from website. Will it compromise the security because its much easier to hack or place a code in app when downloading from website. So when it is downloaded once, it will store in icloud which in return will compromise icloud security as well?
It won’t log the download in your purchase history. Apps must be notarized by Apple to make sure they’re free of malware before being posted on the developer’s website.
It's a pity that no matter how many software updates there are that none of them will fix the hardware backdoor that was just discovered in M3 chips and 13th gen Intel CPUs...
Macs will never use any Intel chip 12th-gen and newer. Apple doesn’t disclose security content of beta updates.

No. You need to physically be in the EU, with a device purchased in the EU, with an Apple ID created in the EU, with everything set to an EU country. Apple REALLY didn’t want to do this but they had to.

Do you experience any issues in opening the camera on the Apple Watch Ultra ? Currently on 17.4.1 and 10.4 on the watch, camera application is opening on the watch and iPhone but the screen is black on the watch . If I touch the screen is focusing where I touch but can’t see a thing…. I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same issue…

Yes I have the same issue on my series 9. It’s so frustrating. But on my friends series 9 it works for him, he has an iPhone 12. Meanwhile im with a 14. If you find a fix/solution, please let me know. Thanks.
@@bajaman_36cc62 will be fixed probably on the next update. I’ve noticed that on short term is sorted if your restart both phone and watch . It’s working for a short time ….
@@bajaman_36cc62 just went into settings, switched on watch mirroring under accessibility menu and it stay working. Not sure if is going to stay like this but tried several times over the day and every time I had live feed. Let me know if works for you as well :)
How to become a beta?
You have to uninstall your latest version of ISO.
Big question is what took them 5 weeks to work on for this beta release because it definitely wasn’t colored podcast widgets or adding a glyph icon for web passkeys!
I’m happy with that so long as a big chunk of the delay was for security and optimization!!
And still none of the macOS bugs like the add app button in personal voice settings always being grayed out have been fixed…

iPad is excluded from these changes for some strange reason-it’s just as locked down as iPhone.
You make it sound like it’s a good thing to have to go to the developers website to have to do any updates. I don’t think that getting my information is a good thing. That’s why I like going into the Apple Store to update. Why make really bad sound like something good?
