  • water hardness is the amount of dissolved calcium and magnesium in the water. Hard water is high in dissolved minerals, largely calcium and magnesium. This video represents a complete procedure for the determination of total hardness of a water sample.

    i have apprenticeship in some famous company,they do 100 ml sample not 50 ml,why is it?
    and what is that 1000 in calculation? for mg?

    How was the initial value of burette can be 33.9? I think the initial value of burette be zero is always🤔 can u explain?

      If you set the initial value at 33.9, then it is possible. You just need to count the initial titrant volume

    just asking is it possible to use a normal buffer 10 instead of an ammonia buffer

      In official method, it is said to use Ammonia Buffer 10. I think there will be no problem in using normal buffer instead of ammonia buffer but never tried. You can try this method by using both buffers in separate experiment to compare the results. If you found same result then continue using normal buffer 10.

      Because we need to show the result in 1000ml i.e. in one litre(mg/litre)
