Though if we consider physics, speed is force. If one could move at super speed, and let’s just say for the sake of the argument that they can withstand any impact. The force behind a punch traveling faster than sound would be significantly stronger than a slower person with super strength. A faster punch can result in a harder hit due to the increased momentum and force generated. This is apparent with bullets. Although the bullet itself is tiny, the small surface area concentrates its momentum. Which is also why needles can puncture your skin with little pressure, as the center of kinetic energy is concentrated to a single point.
So even if you accumulated all your strength into one arm, if your punch is not very fast, it won't do as much to your opponent. Strength cannot mimic super speed. Including the larger surface area your fist has compared to a bullet. Which disperses the force generated on impact. Overall, speed can be used to simulate the effects of strength, on top of being far too fast to counter. Imagine this fight again but Peirce here actually gave speed the respect it deserves. There would have been hundreds of punches in the span of a second.
Lastly, strength and durability are different. They are not the same.

    • @thehillbilly5097
      @thehillbilly5097 10 місяців тому +131

It also depends on size of the object traveling at that speed. Typically in real fights the faster opponents are lighter and smaller while the stronger opponents are heavier and bigger. A small amount of mass traveling fast and hitting a bigger target wouldn't do as much damage as a large amount of mass hitting a smaller target with a lot of force.

Love how the strength isn't a complete idiot and actually make full use of his strength's capability and adapting to the speedster's movement
0:07 after witnessing blue's speed, he immidiately adapts by using an unorthodox attack which is punching the floor so fucking hard that the enemy gets shot up. Blue could not react to that, because again he didn't expect him to be THAT powerful
0:17 he quickly adapts to the pattern of the opponent, when blue went all out with his speed he had a very noticeable pattern by going left and right constantly attacking his front and back.
Red quickly took advantage, when he got hit at the front, he immidiately positioned his body to face his back and threw a punch. Knowing that Blue would end up there

Not to mention the impact force that a punch at the speed of sound (or more) can cause. What's the point of being super strong but not having enough speed to make a big impact?

Superhuman physical strength just gives you the ability to lift and pull weights beyond the ordinary.
If you are super fast, in addition to having tons of air at thousands of kilometers per hour hitting you like something entering an atmosphere, you have faster cells too. Therefore, your regeneration capacity would be greater because you are accelerated. You still have more adaptation speed. Your training would take effect faster, your body can handle much more extreme things than someone super strong. So naturally, you super fast would be stronger, with greater impact power and greater endurance than someone who has more strength.
Just think, if you could move at the speed of light, not only would time stand still for you (because the speed of time in the perception of light is zero), your punch at the speed of light could destroy a planet.

The Red clearly has the same reaction time as Blue, or even faster, otherwise he would never win. So you can't really really say it's "strength vs speed". Apart from the speed of the punches and kicks. At this point 0:12 you can't even tell who is slow and who is fast.

One thing I always wished was for someone to portray super speed more realistically.
The speed of someone like The Flash is weird when you think about it, because they never have to worry about the downsides of too much speed.
The built up momentum not letting your body stop or change directions.
Casually breaking the sound barrier without the sonic boom obliterating your surroundings.
Hitting Mach 6 without the friction of the air burning you.
Don’t even get me started with the friction of the ground. The soles of your shoes would be molten by the time you eventually stop (assuming they’re still on).
In a fight like this, where the speedster gets reckless and starts dashing, it’s natural they get screwed up by running into their opponents attacks. They literally can’t stop what they started. 😂

At first glance, the animation appears to be a straightforward depiction of a physical confrontation between two opposing forces. The blue stickman, embodying the essence of speed, launches a swift and relentless assault on the red stickman, who stands as the embodiment of strength. The rapid movements of the blue stickman illustrate the undeniable advantage of speed in the initial stages of the encounter. It is a demonstration of the immediate impact and effectiveness of agility in overcoming obstacles and gaining an upper hand in competitive situations.
However, as the narrative unfolds, a pivotal moment arises when the red stickman delivers a single powerful punch, halting the relentless advance of the blue stickman and ultimately securing victory. This decisive action symbolizes the enduring power and resilience inherent in strength. Despite facing overwhelming speed and agility, the red stickman demonstrates that brute force, when wielded with precision and determination, can be a formidable adversary.
The confrontation depicted in "Strength vs. Speed" transcends the realm of mere physical combat, delving into deeper philosophical questions about the nature of human capability and the dynamics of competition. It prompts reflection on the value of resilience and perseverance in the face of adversity. While speed may offer immediate advantages and opportunities for swift maneuvering, it is strength that sustains endurance and resilience over the long haul.
Moreover, the animation serves as a metaphor for the dichotomy between different approaches to achieving success. In a world that often celebrates quick victories and instant gratification, the red stickman's triumph serves as a reminder of the enduring value of patience, discipline, and unwavering determination. It underscores the importance of harnessing one's inner strength and tapping into reservoirs of resilience to overcome obstacles and achieve lasting success.
Beyond its allegorical significance, "Strength vs. Speed" also raises questions about the interplay between physical attributes and mental fortitude. While the red stickman may possess raw physical strength, it is his strategic thinking and calculated response that ultimately secures victory. This aspect of the animation speaks to the importance of intellect and adaptability in navigating challenges and achieving goals.
Furthermore, the juxtaposition of strength and speed invites contemplation on the notion of balance in human endeavors. Just as the red stickman's overwhelming strength is tempered by the blue stickman's agile movements, so too must individuals seek equilibrium in their pursuit of excellence. Striking the right balance between strength and speed, resilience and agility, allows for a harmonious integration of diverse capabilities and enhances one's ability to thrive in a dynamic and competitive environment.
In conclusion, "Strength vs. Speed" transcends its simple stickman animation format to offer profound insights into the nature of human capability and the dynamics of competition. Through the dynamic interplay between the red stickman, symbolizing strength, and the blue stickman, representing speed, the animation explores themes of resilience, perseverance, and the balance between physical prowess and agility. It serves as a powerful reminder of the enduring value of inner strength, strategic thinking, and the pursuit of balance in the face of adversity. Ultimately, "Strength vs. Speed" invites viewers to reflect on their own approaches to challenges and endeavors, inspiring a deeper appreciation for the multifaceted nature of human capability.

Also another thing, in this video, that guy is just doing bunch, bunch, bunch of useless movement, he could have just stayed in front of him and dogded his attacks cause if he's fast enough to do all that, he must be fast enough to also dogde all of his attacks and punch him in jaw and knock him out cold because the brain tend to not like fast movement in the head.
3rd point, even if we take durability in account, timing would mean absolutely nothing if he the strength guy doesnt use a trick to slow down the other guy, remember that he move 10 times his own length before the other could finish throw his fist, he could just dogde it up at any moment if this was realistic.

Basically any Souls-like game. Either you get two dozen perfect strikes making use of speed and evasion, or prepare to be flattened.

If speed includes reaction speed then Speed > Power until the powerful person's attacks start doing area damage. The faster the fast person gets, the more impossible it is to hit them so they will always whittle you down no matter how strong you are. However, if the strong person can start dealing enough damage to the entire area that the fight is taking place in then speed will have no usage, you can't dodge the explosion of a planet (although in that case, it would definitely be a tie)
Also, speed gives strength through the laws of motion. Force = mass x acceleration. I would assume that strength gives large muscles which have high mass while keeping the same acceleration but speed grants acceleration. Even if speed did not grant super acceleration, human running acceleration is 3.51m/s squared which is around 8 miles per hour per second. Not bad as it wouldn't take long before you start generating enough speed to completely decimate anyone.
There is a pretty big problem with this equation, however. If we assume that the force generated is pretty much the same between powers and that the only change is their respective values then we get a few problems. 1st is that the strength user would weigh one hell of a lot which either implies a VERY high density of muscle fibers like what should be happening in this video or the guy would be massive (godzilla style). The 2nd problem is that "for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction" which means that applying a force in one direction causes a backwards force of the same magnitude. In other words, if either side were to land a blow, they would have to be resistant enough to withstand aforementioned blow. The likely outcome of this fight is the speed user begins to build up speed while dodging attacks from the strength user and eventually decides to go for the kill. Upon landing the blow, only some of the power actually lands. Probably enough to kill the strength user but the cost would be the speed user's entire arm as a best case scenario (further damage might be caused depending on the skill behind the punch). Arguably, the speed user could sacrifice a finger to whip the strength user, causing less damage but it could still be fatal to the head. However, the speed user would then take a long time to decelerate as stopping suddenly would obliterate them. If the strength user landed the punch instead, they would also destroy themselves (if I were them, I'd user Deku's strategy from my hero academia and sacrifice fingers for a blast of pressure).
In conclusion, it's likely that no one would win this fight. Speed is too fast for strength to hit but neither can land a hit if they want to stay fully intact. Mutually assured destruction

Realistically if someone was that fast they'd have reaction speed even faster than their movement speed, same goes for every living creature. Speed would beat strength purely on being able to dodge every single attack thrown at them. Plus strikes at that velocity would pack a punch even if the person wasn't particularly strong.

Strength still had good reaction speed, and speed had good striking strength. You can't compare these two attributes and have (stick) people portray them, it doesn't work.
