I have had my Panasonic VCR since 1999 and it works flawlessly as well as rewinds insanely fast. No knocking Mitsu, though...they make an excellent product as well!
Mate that was a fucking sick video tape. I saw this one yesterday in Cancun, it was jammin. We went to my mate's house, sparked a zoot and rewound it till it broke. It was a good night.
Matt Bruns you should see my old symphonic VCR It rewinds so slow. My other Panasonic which I got later on rewinds much faster than this one. I still have this VCR and it still works to this day.
I once had a older Panasonic 4-Head VCR that had 3 record modes at the time. SP, LP, and SLP. One other unique feature it had was a LED/LCD audio VU meter that had a Hi-FI logo whenever a stereo source was played. It lasted for 13 years before it started destroying too many tapes.
Usually if a VCR eats tapes it isnt that big of a problem, unless it was an important tape which I do have a video on how to repair damaged tapes. However as far as preventing it from eating tapes again, you can open the the cover and clean the pinch roller using a cue-tip with rubbing alcohol, there may also be worn out belts unless it uses gears which I find more reliable. I have a 15 year old panasonic which I keep it maintained very well.
If You think that's impressive, then There is a particular Samsung made mechanism, That were in Samsung, Toshiba, And Sony VCRs that can rewind in a min. I have 2 VCRs with that mechanisms, A Sony, and a Toshiba. If that's not repressive enough for you, then i have A Panasonic VCR DVD combo with a different Mechanism, that Probably the fastest Rewinding VCR you can get. It rewinds in less than a min.
They actually do all work pretty well. The one in this video is the main one I use I have the 1998 connected to my larger TV which still is working well. The other 3 are in storage for spares, I take them out once in a while and use them and make sure they still work and keep them from sitting too long I have 1998 2000 2001 2003 and 2004 I definitely notice a difference in the build quality of the 2003-2004 models while the 2004 one works fine it feels so cheaply made and the loading mechanism isn't as smooth as the other ones (thats just how it was made) I use the 2003 the most (the one in the video) and it seems to do well. But yes the older ones were built much better.

This video is still relevant
What was the 6 hr tape called?
thumbs up if you looked up this video when you were high

Are you not sleeping?! The VCR shows 12:43 AM!
@angelpichu1 standard T120 tapes will record 2 hrs on SP and 6 Hrs on SLP, but Sp is better quality
@Ih8escalators well at least its faster than the symphonic that takes 6 minuets
6 minutes, not minuets (although it's funny that the VCR is from a brand called Symphonic).
What model VCR is this?
I think is the PV 4523S
2003 model
I have a Panasonic VCR from 1999.
+MrAndrewB1998 I have 4 now
one is from 1998
one is from 2000
one is from 2003
one is from 2004
Cool. I also have a Panasonic Omnivision VCR/DVD Combo from 2002 and a Panasonic Omnivison TV/VCR Combo from 1998.
MrAndrewB1998? its that you?
Panasonic rwinds about 4 m/s (Minutes per second)
DVD's rewind faster. :P
That's not high speed. Sony rewinds faster than that.
Matt Bruns you should see my old symphonic VCR
It rewinds so slow. My other Panasonic which I got later on rewinds much faster than this one. I still have this VCR and it still works to this day.
My Panasonic VCRs both have a jet rewind speed button and a quick erase button.
Are you not sleeping?! The VCR shows 12:43 AM!
Use your VHS vcr videorecorders and blank VHS tapes to get even with the news media and tell your friends to just use their vcr viddorecorders
It has 6 hrs and 47 min in the tape and at school
Use your VHS vcr videorecorder and. Blank VHS tapes to get even with the news media
@patricknedz what''s the difference between sp and slp?

I have almost the same model, except mine is black.

@cameron20101000 T120 is the same as the 6 hour tape, just depends what mode you record in, like SLP or SP

do you have any videos of the rewinding demo?
I would love to see it
that vcr is pretty fast. i have a faster one, but it's in my uncles shop.
@patricknedz ok thanks!
Some machines had a speed variation based on recording speed....
i got a samsung vcr dvd combo player and it much faster then this panasonic vcr
@Ih8escalators yes I know I saw the video
got a high end sony one and the high speed rwnd is twice as fast over that noise
Forgot to rewind, you have to pay extra charge when return to the rental store.
Dat blockbusters!
3:03
Also it has 6 hrs and 52 min that time at South and north high
2:52: -6:07:51
That rewind sound takes me back
That Videocassette VHS VCR Was Not Faster Than Mitshubishi However Mitshubishi And Sharp Are Faster Than Panasonic.
I never said it was faster, however I have another VCR i got after this video was made which is even faster than this one.
From what I heard that Panasonic VCR model from 2003 wasn't as well built as their models from the late 90's.
your right about that
this one was made in Indonesia
the 90s models are made in Japan
I have 5 panasonic VCR
all omnivision all different
And all of them work fine?
They actually do all work pretty well.
The one in this video is the main one I use
I have the 1998 connected to my larger TV which still is working well.
The other 3 are in storage for spares, I take them out once in a while and use them and make sure they still work and keep them from sitting too long
I have 1998
2000
2001
2003
and 2004
I definitely notice a difference in the build quality of the 2003-2004 models
while the 2004 one works fine
it feels so cheaply made and the loading mechanism isn't as smooth as the other ones (thats just how it was made)
I use the 2003 the most (the one in the video)
and it seems to do well.
But yes the older ones were built much better.
sanyo can rewind faster
it sounds like a train when i rewind lol
I actually have another Panasonic VCR that rewinds faster than this one.
