I never thought being so wrong could feel so good. Let's get to the playoffs and prove one of 2 things 1 I don't know my favorite team, or I have traveled to an alternate universe.
It doesn't suck to be a Saints fan right now. It sucks being a so called fan and counted this team out though. There was a lot of that. Saints shut them up too.🤔⚜️💯
Players can only run the offense as the coach designs and calls the plays. If the design, sequence called in the game is not good, the players are not going to be successful. Carmichael was not a good play designer or caller. Result the offense was very inconsistent and hit and miss. Kubiak is not Carmichael, and his design of plays and sequencing of the calls proves my point. We essentially have the same team on offense as last year. Is the light coming on?
🤦♂️Media Narratives. I know humans perceive the world through stories that we tell ourselves. I just wish people in the media could be more accurate with the stories they tell. Your narrative completely leaves out the 4 of 5 games won by the Saints to close out the season. The +40 points scored on Atlanta in Week 18. How the Saints improvements occurred last season only AFTER Carr confronted teammates and set a mutual standard. After Carr got healthier. After they forced Carmichael to do SOME motion and play action. Carr stating that they wanted to carry the success and culture they had began to build at the end of last season into this season. That Klint Kubiak was chose to fix the run game, use motion & play action. You have to ignore ALL of that because it conflicts with the FALSE narrative you participated in last season. And the “Rattler is the future” narrative. Etc. Not all Americans will ignore reality to believe some fantasy concocted by the media, because it’s what they want to hear. Well, about half will.
Wrong pod for this take... Sean was called a Carr apologist last season. At no point did anyone on this podcast say Rattler was the future.. in fact we were one of the few to say Haener was the 2...Please go back and check our pods from the last five weeks of last season.
@@Fox8OvertimePodcast I’ve listened to most of your podcasts, yes, I realize Sean was called a “Carr Apologist”, however, just because the people who hate Derek Carr are unreasonable AND unhinged, doesn’t change anything Sean has said about Derek Carr to be anything more than “damning with faint praise”. Derek Carr IS & has been a borderline Top 10 QB, meaning, in 2016 he was Top 5, other seasons he’s been Top 10, last season he was around 11th. Saying he’s 17th is inaccurate & like I said “damning with Faint Praise”. Sometime, during the next 2 seasons, Carr will be in the TOP 15 ALL TIME in both Passing Yards AND Passing TDs. You DON’T have that much production as the “17th best QB”. Your season win predictions tell the whole story. Yes, the Saints “only” won 9 games last season, but they were better than that. Their “strength of schedule” this season is equivalent to 2023’s strength of schedule. If you believed Kubiak to be at least equal to Pete Carmichael, than the BASELINE for your 2024 Saints win prediction should’ve been 9 games based on what Carr and the Saints achieved last season. The Saints had the 7th best point differential in the entire NFL last season at +75. Every team with a point differential over 33(9 teams) won 11 or more games. The Saints were on the extremely unlucky side of variance last season & there’s little chance that would happen in back to back seasons if the Saints made no improvements at all. Gauging Carr’s performance over the last 6 games of 2023, which was arguably the best in the NFL, and that Klint Kubiak would be an improvement over Carmichael. You should have expected an improvement from 2023, not a regression. I would have to go back and listen to the exact words you used, but it was MORE than implied that you think/thought Carr will be gone, by the end of this season or next season at the latest and for Rattler to take over. Something you have NEVER said is that Carr could play well enough to get an extension with the Saints.

Great stuff guy! I look forward to seeing you again at the Senior Bowl.
