One of the things that makes its so great is that you have so many guys in there that had great feuds over the years with Ric Flair. You've got Greg Vantetine, Roddy Pipper and Kerry Von Erich to start. It was like watching a whole history of Flair's career coming back to haunt him.
Awesome work as always man. 98 Royal rumble, I can remember it like it was yesterday. The build up was nuts and when the glass shattered, we nearly lost it at home and the pop was insane!
The font and effect that was used to write "ROYAL RUMBLE" in those times were so eye catching it was just fun when the Rumble season came around it was such a spectacle... the GRAND OLD DAYS
I could be wrong, they could be booing him because he murdered a lady in a hotel room and Vince helped him cover it up. Hey...Now THERE is a video idea.
Absolutely love this, great job. You even got that brilliant 80s WWF music at the start, man it took me back. NOTHING will ever beat these days of WWF, it was like no other.
Ric Flair stayed true to the whole old wrestling ethos throughout this Royal Rumble - he earnt the win throughout the whole match. Hogan showboating at the end just showed how hollow 'Hulkomania' was by the tail end of his first time with then WWF. Great summary of an epic and titanic battle. So glad the whole match is available to see on WWE's YT channel.
My favorite part of that promo is when Brain says "let's get a big one!! WOOOO!" But Flair just let's out a little "woo" that sounds like when Bender became human and died and air was escaping from his fat folds lol
@@hydradominatus3641 lol yea, but honestly as far as selling stunners goes.... everyone always talks about the rock or the way that scott hall took it at WM18.. but truth be told, Vince took it the best, the very first time he ever took it all those years back on Monday Night RAW... it literally looked like he died hahaha
Very good piece and I'm in total agreement, particularly on the commentary's part in it. There's a moment where Flair is on offense despite having taken a real beating late in the match, and Heenan says something like: "Look at that Monsoon - I told you, the man's a champion" and Monsoon says "Well he's proving that to me Brain". And for me, those moments where they break the 'cheer-the-face-boo-the-heel' dynamic you usually have in commentary are what are priceless and feel honest.
What a great period that was, watching this era at the time was excellent, the arrival of flair was a shot in the arm with his feud with piper and hogan.
It was by far and away the greatest Rumble ever with the best winning post match interview of all time. WITH A TEAR........IN MY EYE......THIS IS THE GREATEST MOMENT IN MY LIFE WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
The greatest show I had the honor of attending live. Even without Heenan's five-star commentary, it was heart-in-your-throat excitement. To craft an hour match that never loses the plot and keeps the audience frantic the entire time was no mean feet. I assume much of the structure came from Patterson. And man, did that building come unglued when Flair won it. As we all filed out of the arena that afternoon, every stairwell and corridor was filled with people going "whooooo!!"

One of the things that makes its so great is that you have so many guys in there that had great feuds over the years with Ric Flair. You've got Greg Vantetine, Roddy Pipper and Kerry Von Erich to start. It was like watching a whole history of Flair's career coming back to haunt him.
I'd love to see the 2001 Royal Rumble covered in this format!
The best
The world was such a different place back then sad things change sometimes
Most of the competitors and all the commentators and interview people are dead in less than 30 years
A lot the guys where dead before mobile phones became the norm. It’s sad wrestling so magic back then I watch royal rumble 1992 when was 3
Watch out, these sort of comments attract the attention of losers that love to use the line of "okay boomer".
That’s what happens when you take all the drugs away
Yup! I blame leftism
I watched this the other day and it was the first wrestling match I’d ever actually watched and it was incredible.
Snuka didn't come out to a round of boos it was the crowd saying ooh-ooh-ooh as they always did with Snuka.
Sid Justice looked like a super mutant in this era.
9:38 - most unbelievable kick to the face ever.
Awesome work as always man.
98 Royal rumble, I can remember it like it was yesterday. The build up was nuts and when the glass shattered, we nearly lost it at home and the pop was insane!
Sid had the most wicked shoulders I've ever seen.
he's so steamy
If he had half the brains of Kevin Nash he really could have been something
Sid did presses with 120 lb dumbbells.
@@andrewthorne3570 ha ha, LOL. I hear you..Ya, coming off the ropes vs Scott Steiner wasn't smart either.
@RA Diabolikal comment of the year!!!
The font and effect that was used to write "ROYAL RUMBLE" in those times were so eye catching it was just fun when the Rumble season came around it was such a spectacle... the GRAND OLD DAYS
I really wanted The Repo Man to win it. 2/10
I did too. One of the great underestimated gimmicks of the era.
I loved his gimmicks. Repo man 4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4 lyfe!
I loved repo man ( smash)
What's mine is mine and what your is mine too.....he he he he.
I don’t think they were booing Snuka, they did all that “ooh ooh” thing whenever he came out.
Yes. I was going to post the same thing.
It definitely wasn't boos , but (and Maybe I'm thinking about another match) but I thought it was Suuuuuuuperfly that they were chanting....
Was going to post the same comment as well.
I could be wrong, they could be booing him because he murdered a lady in a hotel room and Vince helped him cover it up.
Hey...Now THERE is a video idea.
@@AmateurBarbarian That would certainly be the case now and rightly so, but no one knew about it back then.
The crowd isnt booing Snuka they are all doing his “ Hoo Hoo” that he finished his spots and interviews with surely? Brilliant channel mate!
I was saying Booo-ka...
My 28 years old doubt has been finally cleared. Thank you.
Boo-urns.
This is the 2nd best thing to actually watching this Rumble, bravo sir. No crowd reactions like when Piper went after Flair happen anymore.
My favorite part of that promo is when Brain says "let's get a big one!! WOOOO!" But Flair just let's out a little "woo" that sounds like when Bender became human and died and air was escaping from his fat folds lol
😂
".....hoo...".. LOVE that episode.
Agree....the best "woooo" ever....cracks me up every time
Bro this is has become one of my favorite channels overall. The dedication shows in the quality of every video.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH i just watched the bump that slaughter took when Sid eliminated him, like 15 times.. perfect.
Slaughter takes the best bumps ever. Remember the stunner he took? Lol
He made Sid look like a killer.
I still enjoy Sid's work even if he wasn't always a fan of wrestling.
This was my first rumble I ever watched. Still the greatest!
i love this song that was played for the early 90s PPV
ua-cam.com/video/StwBHB1uqG4/v-deo.html there u go 😎👍
Thank you this is one series that I respect on UA-cam again thank you so much 💪
Cant wait. One of my favorite rumbles, part of me wishes I was alive to see it
I was....part of me wish i wasnt!😅
The 50's are looming ...
@@monsieurdubitatif8567 yeah that's exactly why I said part me. The 20s are looming for me so I'm great full for my youth.
What a great period that was, watching this era at the time was excellent, the arrival of flair was a shot in the arm with his feud with piper and hogan.
I really hope you do all royal rumbles especially the 2000 one.. love your videos man best wwe channel on youtube by far
2001 Rumble is right up there as well
No
Maybe third or fourth
I was so happy when I saw this on your channel. It is definitely the best.
Snuka was getting a "hoo hoo hoo" chant, like that noise he made in his promos, not boos.
I was saying -Boo urns- Snoo-kah.
Boo-Urns
Yes, this is exactly what happened. Paul got it right
It was by far and away the greatest Rumble ever with the best winning post match interview of all time.
WITH A TEAR........IN MY EYE......THIS IS THE GREATEST MOMENT IN MY LIFE
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
that's amazing. I would love to see Ric Flair's career covered as well. He seem to have a finger in every important event for so many years.
The ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH 1992 is my favorite Royal Rumble all time
40 minutes of Bobby Heenan quotes would be amazing. Hell, you could probably make a best of and just cut together him talking about Helen Hart.
This was my very first Royal Rumble I've ever seen! Nothing compares to it!
Lol I always thought the 1992 Royal Rumble was the best, it had the most legends in it out of all of them
Come on everyone let’s make Wrestling Bios millions of subscribers. Best Wrestling site thus far!!!!💯💯💯
I couldn't click fast enough lol !!! This definitely is the best Royal Rumble in my opinion .. I will never forget ordering the PPV as a 9 year old kid and had my friends over to watch : ) I actually just watched this about a week ago (12/27) and was thinking that you should make a video documenting this '92 Royal Rumble .. Awesome stuff man !! Thank You !!
Ric Flair and Rowdy Roddy Piper, my two favorite wrestlers.
This was the best. I recorded this and put on the VHS tape The 1992 royal rumble - Flairs night. I have to say I really enjoy your videos you do a great job this!!
The ‘tear in my eye’ promo is my favourite promo ever. It’s clear how much it means to Flair.
1992 was the greatest in wwf/wwe history imo. I went back and watched from 85 to 99 and 92 was far and away the greatest year.
No boos for superfly, it was ooh ooh ooh!
