When out of the body you experience whatever your sub-conscious conjures, which is basically whatever your belief system has programmed into you. Escaping THAT is the only freedom you need. You are the great Self that spawned yourself.

Not everyone that dies gets to have these experiences- these people lives change afterwards too, it’s almost like they are given a gift afterwards. OR, what I think is that you probably did have something similar but you have no remembrance of it which also happens a lot.
If you felt something PEACEFUL, then it wasn’t just a sleep- when I “sleep” I have no knowledge of “PEACE” when I sleep at night or a nap.. So, with you saying it was “peaceful” there you have it. You just don’t have memory of it just a feel- which is nice also. I am in noway scared of death even though I wouldn’t rush it, but I’m not scared of it.
