I have seen a few videos I never bothered to watch showing rebuilds on that style of transmission. Sounds like everything is gone on that one but would be nice to see what's really bad and be able to easily rebuild it. Pretty sure they make parts but probably not officially for the Mopar versions yet though internally they should be pretty much the same.
I see a plastic oil pan. That a hemi? We just picked up a really nice one at the dealership, 2011 grand Cherokee, hemi, awd, overland package. Really clean for a Wisconsin car. Man, I got nervous when I saw a Wisconsin car dealer sticker on the back, but there's almost no rust under it
Wow. That’s just way too complicated. I saw the mileage briefly and I have to say that my old 04 Sebring with the 2.7 got there before everything started magically breaking apart. But I’d rather work on those decade cars than these high-Tec gizmos on wheels ANY DAY.

I hate these cars, Over the summer my 2 transmission oil lines blew, and ever since then my car has been jerky from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3. The Dealership said the transmission was shifting fine after they did the repair, but nope. I'm was getting the Incorrect Gear Ratio 2 code for a while, now im getting the P1D90 code. Dealership also replaced the engine a little over a year ago. This grand cherokee is trash, and I miss my 06 SRT Charger that gave me 0 problems.
dealing with a trhashed transmission no on my 2016 300s, wife took it into get an oil change, some dumb fkn "tech" drained my tranny fluid, instead of the oil, and filled my engine with 5 additional quarts of oil.... without draining the old... and then let my wife drive off with no tranny fluid, she made it 2 parking lots down before returning and now getting the p1d90- Gear ration - Clutch 2 defective and 1st and 2nd gear are rough .. gotta go to chryler monday morning . yay, but they are paying for it .
Quick question I have 2014 jeep Cherokee sport 4wd I have a bad ecm on it had a local mechanic come out usually what is the cost for repair you can clear out the codes but those codes just pop back up currently I do have it at home thank you for any information that you can provide..
I would caution just simply replacing a PCM because of this. The computer usually the first item to be blamed for this type problem but hardly is ever at fault. What codes did you have? Also are you subscribed to the channel?
I just thought it was the battery at first it was throwing the code for the power steering and than as he was pulling out of relays when it would normal stall out it kept running as to all the codes I did not screenshot them.. but he did clear out the codes 3 times it just won’t start on its own and stay running.. if I am looking at some serious money I am just trying to estimate whether I fix it or just trash the thing mind I have a year left on payments just a rough estimate would be good and yes we are subscribed my husband watches all the time
@@ronaldmcseed2009 O wow, not sure a 2014 worth trashing. I will say this, the computers on this year model very good with pin pointing the problem. The problem is, you will need a good computer (scan tool) to translate the problems. Those great scan tools are mostly found at the dealership. Most dealerships will charge you roughly $200 to properly scan/diagnose the problem. After you gauge the estimate then make the case for is it worth it or not. It may be something simple or in fact hard/costly.
I have a question a code pop up p1d91 but it never had any shifting problems but it was rat dropping in my engine bay I was thinking maybe they bite thur sumthing but when I press the gas it just move like a fuel injector leak like it's not pulling
@@deeboysrt177 Yes I have seen this code before, these gear ratio error codes usually a low fluid condition or just simply an internal failure inside the transmission. Could also be a simple flash update. You mention that the harness may have been compromised, yo should get that looked at also.

Hey D, dang the computer picked up a problem in 2nd gear. If that car equipped with the ZF 8 speen trans, you cant even check the fluid. Have you at least looked under it and see if any leaks visible.

I have a 16’ ram 1500 sport with hemi 4x4 zf8hp70. When on the Hwy in 8th if I press the gas pedal down enough to downshift 2 gears (8 to 6th) it slams and lies into limp mode. But if I press the pedal slowly and shift 8-7-6 it’s okay. Showing codes P215C P1DB6 from the TCM. Do those codes mean I need a new transmission if so why? Also I I have 35” tires so wondering if the P215C could be from that?
So was it your transmission Arron? I also have a 2016 Ram 1500 Sport Crew Cab that I have over the last two years converted into a Race/Track Truck. But oddly enough, you and I literally have the exact same thing going on and nearly st the same time...im.showing the exact same codes as you as well as a few other unrelated ones..and I also can only get my truck to shift through the gears if I lay off the gas pedal..if I lay into it it will kick down a gear or Two and go into this strange governed throttle mode to where I lose the majority of my torque and power amd in many cases, ill be lucky to make it up to 6th gear but even then my truck is throttled down and forced into some kind of powerless cruising limp mode and struggle to go above or sonetimes even maintain 45 mph.. it all started at first wirh just slipping out and revving up anytime almost immediately when I would try heavy acceleration or going into WOT and within a week it's just gotten worse and to the point where I am right now. So im.really curious as to what you came to find out. If I had to guess here my hunch is that my TCM has gone bad...
@@iancarden5289 I think it’s the TCM too but might also be the clutch bands that brake the gear shafts when shifting. I’ve been putting changing my trans oil and inspecting but that’s my next move. I’ve just been driving it so it shits one gear at a time and it’s been almost a year. I took it to two shops that both said I have to replace the transmission. I told them I thought it was just the TCM and both said they won’t mess with partial part fixes because it’s just too expensive if it doesn’t fix it. So I figured I’ll drive it until I blow it up. Please let me know if you find anything out or try and replace the TCM or clean the solenoids and it works or doesn’t.
Will do...ive actually got an extra set of solenoids on hand already and a back up valve body and tcm so I will be trying these both before I jump to get another tranny for sure...prob be trying this in the next few days actually...

I replaced the transmission in came back up the same code and the car doing the same thing before I replaced the transmission
This question is missing so many moving parts. You replaced what transsmission? What code came back? And are you subscribed to the channel?

Mine is saying P1D93 incorrect gear ratio clutch 5 defective and it stalls when i stomp sometimes and it got hung up in 5th gear the other day

I am getting P1D90, P1DB8, P1B14, P1D95, P1D99 & P1D93. I must replace transmission yeah? Would the T-case also need to be replaced?
