I just bought a 5-acre property near, Parham, Ont. so howdy neighbor. My lot has nothing but an old hunting camp, on it, i have to clear a driveway to get my property plans started just like you. woot, congrats. Subbed to your channel. If you dont buy hardhat and safety glasses at least use jeans when using a chainsaw. if you slice into your leg, the jeans will get caught in the chain and cause chainsaw to stop cutting. Trust me only takes one accident to change your life.
This was so satisfying to watch. Thanks for the upload :)
It was fun to make. Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers!!!
Great video, love the ending credits too,
lol !!
We enjoyed your video and we like meeting new channels
exciting! looking to do it, DIY! ain't got that much land to clear an not that long a distance. there is lots of water going down hill between the drive and the landing port. don't want to have the drive wash away after putting in so much to have it stand solid. Blessings. -jdr
That's a heck of a lot fire wood
If your going to be using the chainsaw a lot you should get some chaps, hard hat etc. Good video I'm in the process of clearing my land to
Got the chaps....thanks
We'll be doing the same in a couple of months from now. We bought 19 acres over by Wilberforce, Ontario. Our real estate lawyer cautioned us NOT to build any structures without a permit. He has had clients build without permits only to have the town order them removed. The minimum size structure we can build is 700 sq ft. We considered a trailer but I HATE trailers. Just waiting for the snow to melt now.
Our township allowed us to build a shed under 108 sq feet if we had a permit for a principal dwelling in place even if it wasn't finalized. As for minimum size our township won't let us build anything under 832 sq feet. Obviously that's to prevent people building or parking tiny homes on the properties. I hate trailers too but my wife is afraid of bears so we opted to get an old trailer which we will live in while we build the house.
I think that's the same situation we are into over here in Haliburton. They'll let us build a shed (accessory building) as long as we have the permit for the principal structure in place.
I'm starting to clear my land and was debating if I should rent an excavator or have a contractor do it. If you don't mind me asking how much did the contractor charge you?
Shorts and tennis shoes is not chainsaw dress. That's all I could watch.
Great video, a bit unsafe with the chainsaw but who am I to judge. Hope the driveway got completed.
So what state is this? Always helpful to the viewer to have some context.
its in the rolling text at the start, its actually in Ontario Canada
It said it in the video!!! its in ontario
Looking forward for more videos. Make sure you do have safety gear and take every caution necessary before you start any project. Great job!!!
Did you save any money by cutting the trees yourself?
You need to wear safety gear when doing that work.
I do now. Almost took an eye out with a branch. Still adding equipment. Of course safety equipment is always the last you get when it should be the first.
That chain saw is a toy, buy yourself some real saws for a real project
I know, the Hitatchi is only good as a backup if that. Bought a HUSQVARNA 545 that is leaps and bounds more superior. Should be in my next vid. Thanks!
No safety gear whatsoever cutting over his head, bending over with the chainsaw reaching above I'm pulling down limbs with one hand while he's got a chainsaw in the other...wow. Asking for an accident if he doesn't use common sense.
