Hey man, Keep up the good and consistent reporting. Love from Ireland
The Toretsk offensive could have two main goals, one to probe the Ukrainian defenses and force the Ukrainians to keep significant force there. If they manage to pin down these forces, an attack north of Avdiivka/Keramik/Kalinove could become possible, with a major encirclement of a large section of Ukrainian fortifications. I agree with your assessment that this is what it going on.
as the Russians are already behind the Toretsk-Line in the South - frontal-binding attacks are "by the book"
... the main question - whether UAF has still offensive-capabilities beyond tactical level may be known by the USA and Russia
in any way i think russia will continue their attritional way until UAFs defensive capabilities are depleted
Great updates , thank you Weeb
Russia needs to open a new front in Odessa with landing ships and airborne troops --- kinda like D-day.
That would IMMEDIATELY force the ukrainians to pull troops from the northern front.
Imho Russia wants Ukraine to have its troops on the northern front, as many as possible. Every battalion in Kharkiv or Sumy, is not in Donbass.
i think thats nonsense - without full air dominance and fully secured logistic lines and excessive logistic capacities
a landing in odessa would become a dieppe
... remember the russian retreat from cherson ? (and russia has a huge transport-helicopter fleet)
@@Betz23K --- Not really ... the ukrainians left themselves wide open when they pulled out their reserves and sent them to Kharkov.
Russia now has three times the number of troops in and around ukraine --- 750,000 vs. 200-250,00 for ukraine .... 80% of those ukrainian troops concentrated in the Donbas and the Kharkov region.
Oh yea --- and the Russians absolutely DO have 'full air dominance'. If they didn't, they wouldn't have been able to utilize their glide bombs with impunity as they have been doing through-out the country.
@@DreamteamCarlo -- Absolutely ... but they left themselves wide open by transferring the entirety of their reserves to the Kharkiv region.
A smart Russian general would take advantage of that, given their overwhelming superiority in manpower and machinery.
Thanks for good information bro

Weeb, is there any chance you could do an overview at the weekend of what happened in the week. The daily reports are great but I find it difficult to work out what's happening on the grand scale.
Week Union
tak for opdatering
I looked back and compared this video with a report from 3 months ago....hard to tell the difference really...
Mostly due to Eastern Ukraine being quite big and there’s defensive positions that have existed since before RU SMO started.
For the last 11d they (RU) have advanced 72km.
It is however a defensive bubble that RU is trying to pop. All it would take is for a section to collapse and (maybe) RU can exploit it and it will cause a chain collapse.
But we’ll see.
@@fidel4023haven't we been hearing that same message for months....?
that's what really war of attrition is they are just waiting for Ukraine to run out of soldiers, money, equipment which explains their hostility towards Loaning of equipment by other countries

Looking at the map is a bit misleading, and the multi-dimensional nature of this conflict isn't an amateurs game.
This channel could be sent once a month, not every day. Goes for all channels on UA-cam, not just this one. At least I have made up my mind only to watch channels on the the first Monday of every month. I have calculated my consumption of time and the result was catastrophic. Did my understanding increase? Absolutely not!
something not going right for Russia.
advances are down to next to nothing day by day.
and the idea was the Kharkov front would lead to Ukraine rushing front line troops to defend Volchansk, leaving Donetsk exposed, but Russia seems incapable of advancing anywhere and there is no Ukrainian collapse at all.
They have been advancing elsewhere since starting that Kharkiv offensive. The idea seems to be more about not allowing Ukraine to adequately prepare reserve forces from their new conscripts and those redirected from border guard forces etc by forcing them to respond to small pushes across a growing front line.
First, the Russian army can't outrun its supply lines. The supply lines are getting longer and longer over hastily repaired roads and bridges. Secondly, Russia's home front doesn't like casualties so the Russian forces have to wait for artillery and FAB bombs to pulverize Ukrainian positions before Russian troops move in and 'mop up'. All of that is slow going. A third reason is NATO getting excited if Russia makes a grand move; incremental gains can't be used as an excuse by the West to escalate. Icremental gains keep American and EU citizens calm, also.
@@RaymondCore-ts5jl All of that is true. So, I repeat, those pundits that have been talking about a "Ukrainian collapse" are deluded, and Putin's stated objective of taking control of Donetsk, at this rate, will happen in 2034.
@@fred4687 that may be so, but the advances in Donetsk were faster BEFORE the Kharkov front was opened.
those who have been talking about a "Ukrainian collapse" for so long have been misleading us. A "collapse" is not a series of small pushes/retreats.
@@duncansmith7562 In that case just ignore anyone who talks up an imminent collapse and pay more attention to those who instead continue to refer to this as a war of attrition.
Russia is apparently now pushing forward in another area to further stretch Ukrainian resources.

They want to be part of civilized world, not being under Russian control like Belarus
With all the death (500K+) and destruction ($400B+), there is no way the Ukraine comes out a winner. The first thing you do when you have dug youself into a hole is to stop digging. Putin offered a ceasefire and negotiations. That means if the Ukraine stops being belligerant, it may get some territory back. That deal will not be available forever, though.
@@RaymondCore-ts5jl He is asking for a deal because his „3 day special military operation“ is taking 8% of annual GDP
@@juancarlosjuancarlos4629 I'm curious what that has to do with the Ukraine getting smaller and smaller and a half million dead soldiers.
@@RaymondCore-ts5jl it will bring them freedom. They simply don’t want to be like Belarus. It comes with extreme costs, they lost Crimea, they will lose whole Donbas but in 30 years Ukraine will be country with GDP 2-3 higher than their big neighbor and they will have way more freedom than they have now. It takes time to build healthy democracy, but it is right way to go. If Russia would follow the same steps their citizens would have standard like west Europeans in 10-15 years. Russia has so much potential, but sadly live outside Moscow is not offering much. I am not against Russians, I think average citizens have very good mentality. But I also understand Ukrainians and their wish to be part of western world which offers you better live quality

Weeb how many square km have Russia taken in the last month. It seems a lot. It would be interesting to see a breakdown of territory gained per month. Thanks for your work
The more interesting numbers will be numbers of casualties and equipment lost.
It is obvious that NATO is reeling over a proxy boarder skirmish.
It is also obvious that Russia isn't willing to fight a conventional war with the full NATO block either.
Russia will attack in 2027_2029 to annex Baltics states and then defend it's territory@@justarandomname420
@@justarandomname420exactly what they are doing just that
Beyond the square kilometers conquered or not by the Russian side, it is important to evaluate that this war is a war between Slavic soldiers and this creates internal consensus within Russia for the policies of rapprochement with the Asian part of the world with particular importance for the rapprochements with China which the Russians wouldn't have wanted it until 3 years ago. It is a political operation that has become necessary for the Russian nation which no longer has commercial and diplomatic contacts with Europe following the oppositional block that was created in the West to the natural relations with Russia. It is a huge tragedy for the soldiers and populations involved and will have serious repercussions on European situations. Politics remains a truly dirty thing and often without a defined meaning.
Look at the map as a whole.... Barely any change 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

It's tactical game of grinding Ukranian forces and this tactic will take 1 or even 2 years.
