Just a reminder that this is all happening on the night of One Day Left. The same night where, on the true ending, the final confrontation with Basil happens - the one where he was about to kill himself before you showed up. Dream Basil is thanking you for being a good friend and always being there for him at the exact same moment the real Basil is dying in his room because you weren't there for him.
Ok so basically, the game kinda remained the same except Basil was never told that he was moving away and he never had to worry about the little time they had to recover the friendship and stuff I see this as a win,I'm sorry
It's kinda telling that Sunny's quest for Basil finishes and when things go back to normal... It's just a complete loop of the first day. He's just gonna be stuck in that moment forever until something shakes him and Dream Basil goes crazy again, provided Sunny doesn't end his life.

The part that always makes me feels so guilty is the faint "Playing Forever" as you head back to bed. Because the moment you go to sleep, you'll truly be playing forever in your own mind.
I wish there was an ending in the hikikomori route where Sunny goes catatonic and stays in headspace forever. It might seem bad but at least he would be forever happy. Compared to the other endings in this route which mostly involve suicide, this would be the best one.
@@failure_atlife That seems to be Sunny's/Omori's mindset in the bad ending, with Omori heading into the neighbor's room and exiting into the hospital balcony and jumping off it.
----SPOILERS OF THE ENDING BELOW---- If you have finished the game and got the true ending you'll know that the lightbulb represents all the events that happened which caused Sunny to be in a traumatized state, in the true ending, Sunny destroys the lightbulb, thus revealing the truth of why he isolated himself for 4 years, however, because it's the Hikkomori route Sunny decides to leave it alone, eventually making it impossible to know what the contents in it are, a dark, cold way to represent how Sunny's denial has reached it's lowest point, he can no longer see the truth, he will now live in WHITE SPACE, his little safe space, out of any possible redemption, until the day he dies.
@@Sourcy yeah but isn't the black lightbulb just the thing that suppresses the truth? The coral says the black lightbulb is the suppression of a thought. I kinda wish this game had a way to play just a post final day good ending + after the credits, where maybe instead of getting red hands you get an ability just called "The Truth" which could either have an effect that maybe makes everyone depressed or maybe heals omori, and in turn basil who in return has been saved takes over the picnic and everyone stays the child model except audrey gets cool pink hair, ah. what a dream. I just wish I didn't feel punished gameplay wise for choosing the good ending and not wanting to replay, and there's definetly ways to allow the gameplay to continue without answering the open ended interpretation of good ending+ ORRRR in turn add an option called COMAtinue which jumps you into NG+ headspace only forced hikkiroute unlocked by the stab ending in your bed where the game now loops the adventure to save basil without overworld content increasing the difficulty, maybe starting you off with red hands, reliving your personal hell your wrong decisions and your inability to now save your friend who would have killed them self just like you. Just feels so fitting
I don't think it would be fitting, lore-wise, for the Headspace stuff to continue post-good ending. Sunny has chosen reality over dreams, and no longer needs that escape outlet. The hikki route's Headspace is vaster because Sunny has abandoned the real world for good.
also, it would have to be sunny instead of omori since omori has been completely removed from headspace. I don't think another version of headspace is out of the question, because sunny is known to daydream a lot, but adding headspace back would also probably ruin the pacing of the game, since the hospital is really the only way you can end the true route.
