Okay,this is for the first time that I came to know about the actual meaning of feminism and I'm glad to break it to you that I'm a strong feminist.Mam,you explained this sensitive topic so beautifully and eloquently.Since the literacy rate in Pakistan is so low that people don't even know what's the basic women's rights even women themselves.Let's normalize the conversation about women's rights and the usage of word "FEMINIST". let's appreciate the women who are serving this country in the best possible way and of course let's try to understand the actual meaning of the phrase"MERA JISM MERI MARZI" without making it an ego problem.Stop sexualising it.Thank you so much mam for talking on this topic because it was highly needed.

The majority of men are in politics, business, sports, medicine, religious institution, etc. could also mean that the majority of men are more competitive in every walk of life. If that's true, even if it would have been a level-playing field for women, the ratio would have remained more or less the same. The scenario in advanced societies like the US, UK, Russia, Germany, Australia, Irland, France, etc. -- where women have every right to exercise what they want to exercise -- is a clear testament to the fact that women's default mode is to relax and chilll (usually!). Otherwise, you would have seen more women coming out, stacking up against competitive men, and becoming successful entrepreneurs, politicians, preachers, philosophers, artists, writers, scientists, engineers, plumbers, bricklayers, and so on.
I have nothing against women demanding their human rights (their rights of education, of pursuing career goals, of choosing a life partner, of participating in the affairs of human society, etc.). But, ah, how deeply I wish if the staunch defenders of feminism would have the courage to go deeper and reflect on a few hypothetical scenarios of what it would mean to have equal rights at the promise of equal responsibilities. They should imagine, for a brief moment, how at the grand scale of things (where life isn't all sunshine and rainbows) feminism can lead you to shoot yourself in the foot (if you're a woman). You don't want to swap your life with the life of a man because you know his life kinda sucks in a lot of ways.

Dr Hina it was very nice to hear ur thoughts about feminism. I too is a strong advocate of women rights, independence n equality as a human being. I feel the patriarchal culture of our society is deeply embedded in the following factors: The traditional religious doctrines particularly Sunnism. Contrary to Quranic message a parallel religion was created through unauthentic hadiths to politically keep women subjugated n dependent on men. Now this non Quranic Hadith literature has been falsely thought as the part of the Islam. Second factor is the shame based sexuality of men. They feel sex is bad sin shameful dirty n need to be abolished hide prevented n punished so women n their body must be controlled n made asexual to be used for reproduction or men's sexual gratification. A lot of patriarchal behaviour revolves around men subconscious shameful sexuality mind set. Thirdly in our society poverty lack of education, socio economic n political deprivations does not enable men n women to challenge what they have learned blindly from societal traditions. All these factors r to be seen as big blocks for feminism.

Mam what is the first and foremost step,should I take to prepare for CSS. I read in 12th class and I am worried about my future. Some people say that if your schooling is not good, CCS is impossible. It takes long time. And how many books and what sort of books you read in your life.
I want to do CSS insha Allah . But I have met two to three people who have given or are planning to give CSS exams but they are not that much sure. I felt they are very disappointed by the criteria about how CSS exams are checked and all that. And they also think that only those students get chance or are preferred who have political background and reach. Is that so?

It's the responsibility of every privileged women to talk about women problems, because underprivileged women in this society cannot stand for themselves easily. Society doesn't allow to talk about their needs, problems and necessary desires. Even when an underprivileged women want to talk about her issues, she first has to make her base strong, get financially stable and independent, only then she safely uphold that topic.

I agreed with your point of view but i want to ask about Orat March. Mara Jism Mari Marzi is not what you telling. I agreed with your view on it, but what world is understanding is wrong. We r living in lslamic society, where our body( including both men women) is not completely owned by ourselves. We owned our body from God, and we have to return it. Even , in islam , if we hurt yourself in any way by knowing it, you have punishment for this.

Being muslim trust in Allah and your ur religion but not western statistics and reports. Yes their are some discrimination but that are improving with the improvement of awareness & educations.
All rights are predefined for both male and female in our Deen Islam which is the complete code of life. We don't need any movement for women rights, as it is known to us if we start acting on Islamic rules. So feminism is not needed for us.
