Just a quick note: In the output job file, if you want to print the schematic with variant information, remember to select 'Project Physical Document', not 'All SCH Documents.' Thanks Robert! I often go back and watch the video "Learn to Design Your Own Boards" if I forget something! :)
Great Video! How long have I been doing this the hard way? (Too long) How long did it take me to learn how to do it correctly? (20:35) Thanks again Robert
Great video, im trying to find how to do this for my pcb document. Ive seen them before with the outline and mechanical notes, usally a layer stack up top. Is there a template for that as well?
Hi Alejandro. SchDot - is that only the whole page template or you can make just Title block template? www.altium.com/documentation/altium-designer/managed-schematic-templates-ad?version=18.1
@@RobertFeranec it's a template sheet so you need create one for each paper size and also you can add custom title block and even your logo on it. If you need more info let me know. Regards
I think I just answered your question on our forum: designhelp.fedevel.com/forum/main-forum/altium/13830-project-parameter-in-schematic-template Basically, I do not really use templates, but I would expect this to work the way, that you can use parameter name in a template but you still may need to define the parameter and its value in your Project -> Project Options -> Parameters
I drew title block and made my own template with it. Problem is how to update title block. I made some changes to title block component and I go to my template file, but I'm not figure out how update title block on my template sheet. If I drag title block from component window, it is the new one, but old in template and it not update. If I try Tools\Update from Library, it not found anything to update. I'm newbie with Altium (used almost 20y Cadstar). Altium support not want help beginners . When I told watched Robets great series for beginners, they command to watch Altium Academy's videos, witch are not for beginners and deny watch your videos. 😂
Thank you Jukka. I understand, they need to promote themselves :) I do not use templates, so I am not sure how to update it. I would maybe just create a new document and copy paste everything.
why do they always want to show themselves in the bottom corner of these videos? We dont want to see you. We just want to see something about the subject not you.
Hi Robert, I appreciate the methodical approach you use. In some videos from others, I have a hard time following their keystrokes as they are moving so fast. I do have one question: As you were drawing the lines for the title block, you were watching the "Status Bar" below to see the x/y coordinates of the cursor. In my version of Altium (21.0.9), the status bar coordinates stop changing once you enter the line drawing mode, making it hard to place the line at the exact coordinates desired. In your video, they seemed to keep updating. Is there a configuration setting which controls this?
Even for a simple Title Block creation, you put so much effort to explain. Salute you again and again and again ROBERT Sir.
Just a quick note:
In the output job file, if you want to print the schematic with variant information,
remember to select 'Project Physical Document', not 'All SCH Documents.'
Thanks Robert!

Finally Got the title block working. It would be nice to save outside of the project somewhere and use it over and over.
Robert very nice work. Altium documentation does not even come close to these video lectures, but one can still learn from all sources.
Thank you very much Phillip
Robert
Thank you.
I have 19 Altium.
I did not remember how to do it.
You saved me

Just Created a new title block in Altium ... Excellent Video by RF :)
Another very helpful video. Thanks Robert!!
Very helpful. I took this and built on it and created a schematic template. Thanks for all of your help!
:)
All are so clear. It is very useful tutorial. thanks!
Thanks mate, you're doing great tutorial videos.
hey Robert Can you share the library you made for Title Block?
Dear Robert,
Thank you very much, I did it with following step-by-step your video 😊😊😊😊😊
Do you know of good way to create flexible revicion table at the top of the schematic sheet that grows automatically as lines are added?
my question is how to fix or lock the title box when you place it in the schematic document
Outstanding Thank You Robert.
Outstanding tutorial Robert! Great job!

Nice tutorial
How can i remove the title block by default?
Great video, im trying to find how to do this for my pcb document. Ive seen them before with the outline and mechanical notes, usally a layer stack up top. Is there a template for that as well?
you can download our open source projects and have a look how it is done there ... but I only use a very simple title block there: www.imx6rex.com/
Hi Robert, also you can create you own schDOT and use it as template, better than library component in my opinion

Great Work!! Thank You
How to use the Project parameter in the Schematic template

Hello everyone, what kind information normally is used in Variant parameter ? Please give me some examples !
This explains variants, it may help: ua-cam.com/video/L36KicrU45Q/v-deo.html
Awesome
None of these options work for me, the title block cannot be selected....
Same here. I can change the text fields in the "Document Parameters" menu options, but the changes do not propagate to the schematic title block.
From 9.37 min, how you are copying all text together and pasting it one after another ?
I am copying it one-by-one
@@RobertFeranec oh I didn't see the copying..

you need long time to explain any thing It disturbs the listener
When I find videos too slow, I watch them at 1.5x or 2x speed. I watch my own videos at 2x speed. Maybe it can help.
