It's not a beginner nib. It is capable of beautiful flourishes, but I'm having a lot of trouble with it. It catches the paper, but maybe it's the paper I'm using. I've gone through a couple of these nibs because they get damaged easily. I purchased two more of them.
You're absolutely correct that it's not a beginner nib! It will take some practice, but I promise you'll get there. :) I love that you're not giving up!
So ..from what I've found out..Robert Crumb the Underground Cartoonist uses these kind of pens! Going from a thin line..to a bold wide line!
robertszymanski717 I just saw a UA-cam video of a cartoonist using this nib. He held the pen upside down. I tried it and it just doesn't work for me.
