I need to replace mine 4 of them, I went to Honda for an estimate and they charge $335.00 for labor and $37.00 each trim. Thank you for making this video is very helpful.
Hey, thanks for this video! My 2006 Civic needed these replaced really badly, but thought it was outside of my capabilities to replace myself. I got a quote from a local shop... $293.00!!! Bought the parts myself and for $88.00 and 40 mins of work.. my Honda looks good again!
This video was a perfect example of how to do this. The tip of making sure the weather stripping is pushed all the way in behind the mirror is important. Easy job if you watch this video. Thanks so much.
The black trim ..I detailed and refinished a 2018 civic and used something called "Back to Black" and it works very well its polish on I haven't had to repolish it and its been 4 months said I may have to do it every 6 weeks buts staying good 4 months later-its good stuff got it at Advanced auto.
I ordered the parts and will be changing mine today. Thanks for the video. The part numbers for the 8th gen coupe are as follows. 72410-SVS -A01ZA (right side) 72450-SVA-A01ZA (left side) I got them on Ebay for $55 each as the dealership cost was $75 each.
Awesome, Eezy-Peezy! Just had a friend purchase a 2010 4 door Civic with the same problem and I am so pleased to see how easy (so long as we source the correct parts) to replace the four crap spent moldings will be thanks to this video. Thanks
works perfect on a 98 civic too!!! i also removed the middle screw on the side panel piece (not sure if newer models have 1 there). got the job done in 3min after that. much better then trying to muscle it off...
If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the replacements? And what the part numbers are? Just bought a '98 DX sedan for my daughter, and need to update it a bit.

For under $10, get a can of plasti dip at home improvement big box stores. Mask the area you want to fix. Cut out the damaged mold. Clean it with rubbing alcohol. Spray the plasti dip. Let it dry and spray additional coating. For best looking results, I would do 3-4 coats. Let it dry in between. 👍
@@peterleung6586 "Cut out the damaged mold" - THAT IS THE ENTIRE THING. Replacing it is no big deal. Is it more expensive than a $10 can of Plasti Dip? (plus cost of rubbing alcohol and other supplies) Sure, but you wind up with all new materials, not a patch job.

Hey Brett, thank you so much for sharing. I'll be able to give mine a go soon. Any tips on replacing aftermarket headlight bulbs (that are both h1 for high and low) with some sort of harness to hold them in correctly
I have both strip moulding from the bottom of the windshield to the top of the windshield that came off...just flapped in the wind until they both came off. I heard you have to take the windshield off to replace them. Ugh. Is this true, and do you know where I can purchase the replacement parts? I have the exact same car with the exact same color. I love it!! Thanks for the video.
which do you prefer though, the lambo or the civic? (bubble tint aside) ps don't put your VIN into amazon. that's a privacy fail. just put the model/make
Hey Brett, do you know if this is the same process on the 9th gen civics? I watched a video that basically took the whole door apart, is that whole process necessary or will just removing the 1 screw suffice? Thank you!
W then it rains where I live it eventually fills the inside of my 06 ex coupe doors, I have aftermarket speakers and lighting. Will this keep the rain out? Thanks
Do you have any videos on the aftermarket headlights for the 08 civic coupe? I am just trying to replace bulbs they are now h1 bulbs and one doesn't just go in and quarter of a turn and looks like retainer clips are impossible to get right for this one...
This is a two-door also referred to as a couple, the four-door would be referred to as a sedan. A handy little tip is on Amazon you can create a garage and put your cars in by VIN number and then it will only show parts that fit that exact car car. That would be my suggestion to make sure you're getting the exact correct part
Brett...regarding the piece that you reference at 0:51, I've seen some youtube videos where they bring this back to life using a heat gun. You gotta be careful not to overdo it, but the idea is the gray haze will melt back into the original black material. It's almost like burning away the top layer. I haven't tried it yet, but it's on my to-do list as I continue to update my 2008 Civic. Search youtube and you'll find someone who has done it. On an unrelated note, how much did you spend having that front bumper re-sprayed? That, along with the window molding weather strip, is what's next on my list.
I just removed 20 year old tint on a 1999 Civic ek hatch (1 owner I just bought 😊)... it was a nightmare. Thanks dude. You saved me a lot of money on this. I need to replace all 4 and thought it would be complicated but you made it look easily. Subbed
Thank you Brett for this. I did not see the little screw mentioned on other vids and that was one key essential component! Went pretty smooth overall.
A heat gun will help bring the oils in the plastic trim back up to the surface. Then a ceramic coating on it and it's good to go.
It works very well
