This video truly struck a chord with me! It's not just about money; it's about empowerment and taking control of your financial future as a software engineer. The presenter's genuine passion and knowledge radiate throughout, making it an emotionally resonant experience. I couldn't help but feel inspired and motivated to take action after watching. Thank you for sharing such an impactful and heartfelt message! 💪💰🌟
You are my inspiration, I also live in Oslo but for now work as a kindergarten teacher. I am planning to change job and become UI/UX designer or software engineer. Great videos and masse lykke til videre! :D
wooow good luck for you😊 even this job you're currently doing si really tough...teaching kids is not a joke. you've done well so far but for changing job may Allah bless you and make it easy for you 😊😊
@@artemfed3389 I have been working in kindergarten for almost 10 years now and want to start with something different + working with the kids for 8 hours a day, drains you mentally and when you come home you just don't have mental capacity for your own child. So kindergarten at work and at home is a tough combo. In addition when I was learning my profession I remembered one sentence well, from the literature: variations bring joy. :) Thanks man
I believe in you, 2021 I was just working in the storage. Now i'm graduating with BIT degree specialized in software engineer. Good luck, you can achieve anything you but your mind into!!
Hey Marko! Just a reminder to say thank you for being such an inspiration. I landed my first internship as a Frontend engineer, at a company in my country and as a Team Lead assistant!! Thanks for your motivation! To the entire Marko community, and to me. Keep following your dreams guys! It will definitely happen!
Great video as always, Marko. As someone who is currently in the bootcamp process and trying to break into the field, your videos, as always, serve as great inspiration!
I love how optimized your videos are . Right to the point when you say 'like' and 'subscribe', an outline glows around the respective buttons. Quite smart !
Bravo Marko! Pratim te već od početka moje karijere i tvoj rad me jako inspiriše i motivira da idem dalje! Hvala ti svim savjetima koji su jako bitni jednom Software developeru koji je na početku karijere i koji ima visoke ambicije. Živio!!!
You are giving real life advices that i cannot find anywhere. Thank you soo much I am fresh chemical engineer graduate but trying to get a job in IT and hopefully move to Europe to live.
Great video, I see so many people/parent talking about having to save every thing you get. Don't spend. It might have worked during their time but times have changed.
"How about making more money than saving" - really love this line as it is very important. I used to be highly conservative with my money, but then I realised that thinking about ways to save money took up so much of my time, which I could have invested in working on new ideas. There is always only so much you could save up, but the is no ceiling for how much you can potentially earn. Just don't spend all the money from the first big check on a Porsche 😀 Love the video!
Hey Marko! I've been watching your videos since a long time now and all I can say is all of your videos are so relaxing and motivating to watch, and for sure all these videos have helped me stay productive and focused as well. Keep making amazing content man, cheers!
Great video. Agree with you on cars; expensive cars have large depreciation in the first years, expensive insurance, and a lot of worries when parking in crowded places. When you have bought a nice new car, you have to use time and money to switch to a new one after a few years to show you are keeping up with everyone. I fully agree that is better to buy smaller things or services that give you more time or are interesting to test out.
I genuinely love your videos. I currently try get my hands into the software development job market, but welcome to germany where paper is more worth than knowledge. After 4 Semester at university i quit i dont like it not the field, the university! So I am faced with the opportunity to do what I want, but nope! It is hard to get a job with no finished degree. I have to do my "Ausbildung" training/schooling for 3 years after that you get a paper where is written "you are now an expert in software development". This is not a sad comment where someone unknown cries about his life. Ausbildung in germany is strictly under payed you work 40h for an hourly rate of 4-5€ and after taxes there is only 600€ left. I work for 5h in a non sftware company and optemize their internal work on my weekends or in the late evenings and know have +300€ monthly! All of that only because of people like you, that inspire me. You are truely amazing and I thank you so much!
you defenetly were an inspiration to finish my coding projects this year, and I spent a couple days in Oslo, checked out the places I saw in your videos just for the aesthetic lol.
I totaly agree with you and your mindset. I came from game industry (curetnly I am working as an artist) worked for big company and more the company are big the more bullshit reasons I always get, such as bonuses etc , for what price - to be motivated for overtime - horaaaay :) It is almost two year since I work in smaller team, outsourcing environment art and it is incredible in every mean. Nice life-work balance, good compensation, spare time to go on hike, mounteneering and actually more time for husle. And yeah coffee outside is the best advice :D
Hi Marko! Alejandro here from Barcelona. I've been watching your videos since soooo long and I just realised something... Just went to my other YT account by mistake and I saw an old video from "Markonicus" showing some tips for fire mages in Castle Nathria and wtf this was you! I was watching your videos since more time ago than I already know! Thank you for your content, both of them, the one you did for WoW and your current vlogs!
I can see that this video came in clutch. I was wondering if I should buy a car or a new MacBook and keep the other money. I’m studying computer engineering and informatics in Greece, and I’m going for the second option. Thanks, Marko.
About the software company topic, I think it really depends. In Europe it may be better to work for a bank or something similar but in the Us people can make millions of dollars at big tech companies(I'm from Europe and I know not everyone makes that much money in the Us but just saying). Though I love your videos!
Hey Marko, what is your next step career wise? At what point in time do you think Kahoot will have nothing left to offer you to expand your skill set? When that day comes, would you consider working for a financial institution or perhaps a different software company? What’s your “projected timeline” ie where do you see yourself in 6-12 months? I work at a bank and have zero coding skills, though I’m looking to learn sql and python in order to work in a team that tests code based controls. Any tips? Love the videos as always, think I’ve been watching your channel for 2+ years now.
being a developer at times could be challenging. smart arse client loves your solutions but ignores the process it took to develop one and push for a lower price. being a fullstack developer do get bullied at times and it take guts to either value yourself our being desperate for a client. we could sound arrogant but that is how we respect our 'codes'. great content .. and advise..being a developer is challenging so be mindful of the money you make today. fancy cars might not bring you new client. invest into the tools you always wanted .. that is invest in yourself. cheers
I give you a like, and write you a comment, so you can afford even more coffee for yourself. Thanks for making me feel good, cause I find yours ideas really matching to mine ones
Hey Marko, I was wondering what backpack are you using? I was looking for a good one for school and eventually work, for my laptop, books, etc. Thanks!
I cannot really afford it, however as I am sitting at my computer 70% of the day. I have bought mechanical keyboard. I have been battling thoughts if it was a good purchase. I must say now that it was. I enjoy typing this comment even. Tools bring joy.. (can relate very much)
Yes, I feel like, focusing no making more is not being focused by a lot of people. Well, it's one way or other benificial for us as well. Suppose, there are 100 prople on earth and all started making youtube videos. After the craze wave is gone, nobody will actucally make a secondary money from it. Because everyone will lie at the same bed. So yes, focusing on making more money is really important. But telling people to focus on it, won't result in our favour. Because then each of us will be at same level. Anyways, I love you videos, man. I'm very youg as compared to you, You are almost like my elder brother, giving money advice and software eng. related advice. I recently started as a frontend web developer at a startup. I'm 19 as of this August, and I really love watching your videos. I suppose I'm your subscriber when you first posted the video, the Ep1 of "A day in the life of Sowftare Engineer". And it's a huge motivation watching your vids. I would also love to see the youtube income break down. As I really have plans for it. Once I'm financially stable to invest in some necessary tools for the same. Love your vids, and more importantly i really aspire to work with you one day. Have a good day!

having a side hustle is so helpful, even a small SAAS product can help. keep it up marko!
I made an ass of a Saas once. It never worked as intended, but I learned a lot from it, and now, I know what risks to take.
marko, you dont know, how much your videos inspire me to keep coding man, amazing stuff, love from India

Anyone else notice the like button does an RGB effect at 4:19 ??? I didnt even know you could do that wth!
Watching you use the arrows at 2:16 made my wrists hurt :(
The like button glows when you ask to hit it and I think that's cool
Do you think that older macbooks like from 2015-2017 can be still god for purpose of programming?

tools are everything. Still rocking the macbook pro 2017 with an Intel chip. Your videos are better and better. Are you thinking of trying Yabai?
What do you think about Frontend/Backend devs, and which one is better?

as a 24 yr old with no experience in this industry, only in construction since I was 12, how can I bring myself into this profession.
Hey Marko you should invest in a nice watch, you'd look really good in one.
Did you buy the mic and audio interface in norway?
Nice video, keep it up
This is probably one of *the most down to earth* that I've watched in a while. Thanks!
P.S. Subbed, liked and all the good stuff.
Thanks for the video
Hello Marko, how do i start coding and becomming a software engineer like you? Or how did you start?

what do you mean by, quote-unquote passion?
What software do you use to split your apps on your desktop like thaat ?
