At Walmart, they have the Stainless Steel Stock Pot with Metal Lid FOR CHEAP..... 8-Quart or 12-Quart or 16-Quart and all you need is the Ceramic Filters and you can make it your own DIY CHEAP + SIMPLE !!!
This could be a great idea! Are the lids to the pots flat? That is essential, and do know how to drill 1/2" and 3/4" holes through the stainless steel? If so, please tell us here! Thanks.
@@3stepsorg - The lids are really thin, you can Step Drill it easily. Also, YES, you can put the lid right on top of it easily. You can literally just push the lid down, after taking the rivets off from the handle.
@@JodBronson Step drilling. That's great. For the filters inside the top pot, you have to drill both through the bottom of the pot and then through the lid it will sit on that goes on top of the bottom bucket. Then the stem of the filter goes through both holes and you are actually fastening the top pot to the bottom lid. This creates a seal so that dirty water running down the side of the top pot as you pour more water in to be filter but spill a little, can't run down into the bottom pot of filtered water. This is a problem with that Berkey can't figure out, although they sell their filters for up to about $350. Thanks, Jordan.
thank u, do u know of a good filter system but mainly an alkalizer(ionizer) one that will remove most of the flouride and chlorine. i found one ($1200) with an orp of upto -1100(and removes flouride to non-detectable levels, and reduces water molecule size upto 50%) do i need to soften it after. but do i need that. or should i get one with -300 to -500 orp. made in china or somthing. do u know how how much filter replacment is? sorry to ask and thanks for your time.
No. You might get a tiny bit when the filter is brand new, so you can run some water through it for a while if you're worried and then throw out the first batch. Activated charcoal is what Poison Control gives people when they've been poisoned. It's what's in all kitchen sink, refrigerator, and camping water filters.

@stevemccollum2011 How come a link worked for you? Great, anyway. good luck.
what about fluride?
Ceramic filters do not filter out flouride, but if you use rain or river water there is not flouride in it!
