Hello to everyone watching and welcome to the Chateau. I wanted to leave a quick note to let you all know that Mark is very ill at the moment and we are doing out best to get videos created so that you can see all that is happening here. Exciting times are upon us ! Thank you for watching - Mark and Phillip
Dayna, Thank you for choosing the larger size ! It was indeed our choice but we have decided to scale it down about 20 percent to reach a happy medium. Thank you Mark
I love the dining room! I think the small pattern looks more age appropriate but the large pattern is really nice . The large pattern does look more modern. Its going to be so nice either way.
The dining room is lovely and I like the smaller scale, as it fits in with the historic restoration of the chateau. Things are progressing nicely and I hope that everyone’s health is restored as well. Take care, Ralph Rocchiccioli
I had a turn of the century cottage off OSU campus and when I stripped the walls I found a section of 120 year old wallpaper and I saved a section by putting a picture frame around it. This is so much more amazing
We have a Ramsey room in our château, well not really, it is a Ramesses room 😂. An exquisite ancient Egyptian room, yet very French; think of Napoleon in Egypt and the magnificent engravings of the 1809 publication "Description de l'Egypte". The room is in muted yellows and sand colours, with pale sunset pinks with the delicately inspired Orientalism of ancient Egyptian decor, fabrics and artefacts, and souvenirs of our travels. Our very best wishes to Mark. We hope Mark is relaxing, recovering and returning soon. ❤
Great video guys! You can't go wrong with either paper/stencil size, as both will look fantastic. One note to consider on the larger size, when hanging artwork the larger size print may make "centering" the art a little harder as the way the pattern lies on the wall could make the art seem off-center, even though it may be perfectly centered. The smaller print gives a little more flexibility, doesn't distract the eye as much so you can focus on the art that's hanging, not so much the art that is the wall. Hope that makes sense. Get well soon Judy! 🙂
Wishing Mark a speedy recovery, your videos have been missed. The Dining Room wallpaper is lovely, what a find behind the cabinetry!!! The large stencil is an "in your face" reaction and the smaller stencil is a "quite presence". The smaller stencil invokes a feeling of calm, so the decision is what type of mood do you want to set for the Dining Room. Something to ponder. I like the small stencil, the large one overpowers the senses. It would be nice to see another stencil example, in a size somewhere in between the other examples. The Ramsey room, with the yellow and blue color scheme will be beautiful.
All the best, sent from San Diego Calif. Wishing you a speedy recovery Mark ! Chin up, chest out, looking like thing's are going to be better soon. Blessings, sincerely sent, your way❤
Denie, we have too many former moisture issues because of wall paper on the ground floor. So we can only look a breathable paint options, so we are trying to have fun with paint ! Thank you for your comment Mark
Mark, feel better! Love the wallpaper design. I'd try something sizewise in the middle range. Not to small, not too big. When you guys are ready for paying guests I'm bringing my granddaughter and myself! Thank you for the video update!💋
The larger version of the wall stencil is the best proportion wise, for such a large room . Imagine that smaller version with that small pattern looking like Pooka dots. Good Luck.
Hi Gents. Loving the progress. Congrats. First comment: I think the smaller stencil for the dining room. As you commented, the larger stencil does look more modern, in fact, it looks very mid-century. As much as I like MCM design, it doesn't look right in that room. Second comment: the yellow ceiling is super. I'm a big fan of ceilings with a hint of color. I've used dolphin gray several times on ceilings as well as two occasions in which I used black enamel on ceilings. Third comment: thank you for opening the video with the images of Stephen. Awe... ☺ I hope Judy is feeling better. Cheers guys-
Always happy to see an update from you both . Love the idea that you will recreate the old wallpaper design! Either one will look beautiful. Hard to say which one … not seeing the size in person. Best wishes for your health Mark !
Seaview, Thank you for your well wishes and I am finally doing a lot better. As to the wall design size, we have decided to go in the middle, leaning to the large size but still a lot smaller than the sample size. ❤️❤️ Mark
Personally, I like the larger print of the wall paper. I can see the design much more clearly. The smaller design will have too many yellow dots which will look a little busy. But, I'm entirely open to whatever you decide. Take care, DA
Truly appreciate the update. I understand why there has been a pause posting vlogs. This is the fun part. The painting. Wallpaper. The rooms and hallways etc are so close. Please just share with us. Could care less about the quality of the editing. 😊. Get well.
Great interior design development. Suggest viewing Timothy Corrigan's Chateau. An American designer. I felt his own recent Chateau was his best design, to date. He embraced delicate detail, with subtle colour change. I appreciated his stairwell carpet strip design for functionality. Some of his older designs are quite bold and weighty, but not his last chateau. The only thing I wasn't keen on was picture hooks drilled into stone wall atrium, entrance. Drilling into stone didn't preserve for the future, would leave holes. It's worth a view, and again well done to date.😊
Another wonderful video! It brightened my day. I still think the small print is too small as one can’t see all the lovely details unless you are fairly close to it.
Janet Thank you, I am glad the video brightened your day. As to the design to be painted on the dining room walls, we have split the difference between the large and the small. ❤️❤️ Mark
I LOVE your tartan shirt, Phillip. I hope you feel better soon, Mark. I enjoy your cameos! It's fun to see your color choices come to life. The stenciling will be beautiful, no matter what the scale you choose. It's sometimes difficult to imagine furniture when choosing scale of wallpaper/stencil. Do you want to make it the focal point or the background of the room. Hard decisions! The colors and design are wonderful.
Cyd in the USA. I'm sorry to hear you are a man down, but I know he will do his best to bounce back. In the the dining room...I like the large print. My choice is assuming you will have some wonderful artwork to hang. By observation in historic homes, I find I enjoy the paintings more with a large bold background...not lots of distracting figures on the paper. Perhaps art is not the plan for the dining room. Either paper is beautiful (I'm pretending it's paper as the thought of stenciling all that gives me hives). Love to you both.
We so enjoyed this. I very much hope Mark is soon on the mend. I particularly love the wallpaper. The larger size is a modern twist, but given the scale of the room, I preferred the original. Very best wishes to both of you - and love from Normandie.
At first glance I liked the larger print, however these are just relatively small samples. To visualize them all over the wall space I think the big print is going to be overwhelming. Beautiful original paper pattern for sure! I hope Mark is getting all the care he needs to recover!
So nice to see you again I’ve been waiting for one of your Vlogs. I’m sorry to hear about Mark. I am sending him get well wishes. As for the wallpaper I like the larger print.
Well that's not good news but I see Mark and Judy still have their sense of humour. Bahahahahaha I have husband's that I'd ask myself: " do you even live here?" Yes, LOVE the wallpaper ❤ great idea to use the pattern but the super enlarged one us too big for the room and to my eye, dwarfs the trim. Not sure about all those yellows but do like the ceiling.
Mark please get well soon. Love love love the wallpaper design. I like the larger print but it’s not my home!! Missing Miss Judy (National Treasure). Hope to see her soon. Deborah. North Carolina 😊😊❤❤
I always love seeing all the progress you are making at the chateau. For the wallpaper, is either stencil the same size as the original? Be well, Mark. You too, Phillip.
Well l hate to be one of those people but bigger is better 🤠, however when on the wall it makes it hard for placement of art and things the yellow will be the problem l think. I do hope you recover at a speedy pace Mark , always better when we see one of your smiling faces. 😁
Mark, hope you are feeling better ... the large motifs work in the film set because the design is more monochrome. If you go that large the contrast (yellow/cream) may need to be muted in tone. If the colors are locked in, and you, Mark, are feeling up to scaling another sample, I feel a design about 7/8ths the scale of the larger sample will make for a more pleasant yet impactful room. The small scale might be impactful for the wrong reasons. Surely someone on the payroll will tape it up for you 😉
Sorry to hear that you have not been feeling well and hope that you are on the mend. I like both sizes of the stencils so my input means nothing. Lots of progress happening which must feel great.
So sorry to hear you are unwell Mark. Wishing you a strong recovery. You are in good hands with Phillip. Thanks for sharing the fabulous progress, the hard work, patience & planning is really starting to show. Love the wallpaper options....bigger is better and gets my vote. All the very best to you both. Celia NZ
Mark hope you’re feeling better, while you resting giving Judy a hard time have her look up Château Purnon they have recreated some original wallpapers and scaled up the patterns. I don’t think you have scaled the pattern large enough yet, that’s the problem. I have no idea what happened in that bedroom 🤷🏻♂️ Hi Philip how are you? Where’s the cat this week?
I agree about taking the yellow out. I know it’s in the original wallpaper but it looks like someone came in with a paint gun and shot at the walls. Just my humble opinion.

Oh no! Poor Mark! He's had such a rough time the past few years. I really hope he's better soon.
Get well soon! Hugs!
Hope Mark is well by now❤
Sending all my love to you both and speedy healing wishes for Mark ❤
I love the larger design for the dining room walls. Agree that it lends a bit more modernity to the space. Love watching the transformation!
Dayna, Thank you for choosing the larger size ! It was indeed our choice but we have decided to scale it down about 20 percent to reach a happy medium.

It's OK Mark !!! We need you to be resting and recovering for your full recovery !! Prayers and❤ from Oklahoma
Hugs to you Mark 🤗🤗🤗
And thank you for this video and all the hilarious comments you throw in!
Love you guys 😁🤗🥰
What progress!! Looking good.
Marianne, Thank you, we are making great strides.
❤️ Mark
This is going to be absolutely stunning and I’m privileged to be able to see you transform this incredible property with such incredible talent.
Dennis, Thank you, you are very kind. The transformation will take a lot of time, but we will make it in the end.
❤️ Mark
Make it your own style cause frankly you have done all the work! Trust the process!
Linda, Thank you ! We do trust our own instincts, and you are correct, it is our style that we have to adhere to.
Thank you
Mark
I love the dining room! I think the small pattern looks more age appropriate but the large pattern is really nice . The large pattern does look more modern. Its going to be so nice either way.
Timbob, we have split the difference and landed between super big and really small. Still modern but not as "in your face" 😆
Thank you

The room design artists for the Ramsey suite are so inspirational..

In my humble opinion I believe the smaller is more conducive to a Château.
Great shirt …getting there
Patricia, nothing like a plaid on plaid on plaid !
😆
Thank you
Mark
I Hope mark gets well soon, He's a very funny guy. You guys a doing a quality job. the bigger scale wallpaper is so much more impressive.
Hope you feel better soon, Mark!
All the best, sent from San Diego Calif.
Wishing you a speedy recovery Mark !
Chin up, chest out, looking like thing's are going to be better soon. Blessings, sincerely sent, your way❤
I like the smaller wallpaper choice! Much more traditional looking in my opinion.

You did not ask me but as your mother I would vote for the larger print.
Middle scale. Healing wishes for Mark.
I quite like the large scale stencil but no doubt whichever you choose it will be beautiful!
And Alice has mad skills!
A yellow and white damask wallpaper would be beautiful
They didn’t move to France to live in a Chateau to paper and paint it like beige and white like a middle class suburban track house…
Denie, we have too many former moisture issues because of wall paper on the ground floor. So we can only look a breathable paint options, so we are trying to have fun with paint !

The stonework is beautiful!
I had to wait a long time for an Avensac update, so I hope "Saint"Judy finds a miracle cure for the video editor ASAP.
Jerry, I am finally out of the woods and able to attend to my duties better. Mark is doing ok as well 😂😂😂
Much love, Judy
Oh no, this worries me! I hope you're doing better now, Mark! I'm really loving progress that's being made at the chateau. Sending you both hugs!
this is for gary an in between size stencil would suit ( don't yell at me ) 😘 .Good progress let's hope the 2 ladies decide 😂
Kath, I hope you see the new video where we have made a decision and you will be quite pleased with the outcome.
Thank you
Mark ❤️

THE BIG ONE !!!!!!!!!!!
I like the large format for the wallpaper. Have fun deciding
Joanne, we have finally made a decision and it will be... between the two 😆
Thank you

get well soon, Mark. The small pattern is the best, the large one is very hippi like and 60´s and not chateau

Hi all! The pattern is glorious! ( the music definitely influenced my reaction!)
Bravo !
Le papier peint avec les grosses fleurs n’est pas le meilleur choix, les petites sont plus agréables à regarder.
Take care Mark 🦘🦘🦘🦘
Love to you Both. Gods speed Mark. fab video guys. Go big said the size Queen.
Love from Canada
Love the progress!
Something in between re. The size of the wallpaper might be perfect..
Go Alice, great to have her onboard.

What a team you have there to help you with your vision ❤. Love the wallpaper you discovered. I feel the larger motif would be amazing !
It's all coming along beautifully! I think a size somewhere between the two for the stencil, if you can persuade Gary to do just one more!
I always love seeing all the progress you are making at the chateau. For the wallpaper, is either stencil the same size as the original? Be well, Mark. You too, Phillip.
judy hope your getting better ❤️🩹
Kath, Mark and Judy are finally back on track !
Thank you

Ok whos playing Guns n Roses...LOVE IT❤
Suzanne, 😂😂 our workers have the most interesting taste in music. 😆
Thank you
Mark
It’s Peter Gabriel or Dire Straits when my Bluetooth is connected.
I love the larger size.
That’s what she said 😂
So sorry to hear you are unwell Mark. Wishing you a strong recovery. You are in good hands with Phillip. Thanks for sharing the fabulous progress, the hard work, patience & planning is really starting to show. Love the wallpaper options....bigger is better and gets my vote. All the very best to you both. Celia NZ
I like Lady Ramsay.
The small design paper as hanging artwork will be tricky.
Mark hope you’re feeling better, while you resting giving Judy a hard time have her look up Château Purnon they have recreated some original wallpapers and scaled up the patterns.
I don’t think you have scaled the pattern large enough yet, that’s the problem.
I have no idea what happened in that bedroom 🤷🏻♂️
Hi Philip how are you? Where’s the cat this week?
Regarding the wallpaper, I think you should take thd yellow colour out of it no matter which size you choose ❤
I agree about taking the yellow out. I know it’s in the original wallpaper but it looks like someone came in with a paint gun and shot at the walls. Just my humble opinion.
That was the whole point of it the color palette of the blue and gold tones the reference to “the gentleman” and then the scale!
The smaller.
Oh my god, only the original format. Otherwise you can also make a design lock out of it !
Stay well Mark=order not request.
Forget the stencils and use some doilies 😅
I love the gals.
I want to sponsor one of the tower rooms and have saved up £3.11p
I have some old car spray paint I picked up from the dump and an old Lilo from the last century, so it's coming together. Going for a relaxed squatter look, so don't clean it and if you have any old net curtains put them to one side for me.
Still need:
Cracked enamel mug and plate and
pre-WW11 Swiss army Penknife
String, and Saucepan.
So won't be long now......
As an old sly(hic), I won't tell anyone I saw Dawn whoops🤭
💕
Daisy, I am finally able to get on with my work and doing a lot better. I think 3.11 pounds sterling should do the trick, and although I don't have those exact items, I am sure I have similar crap around that would be marvelous !!
Relaxed squatter is the new look for 2025 !!!
😆😆😆
❤️ Mark
big
I shudder at the thought of an accent wall. That practice should be stopped in historic properties. Bless the Ramsay's for sponsoring a suite, but a tartan in a French chateau seems like a slap in the face of the history of French design. It's your chateau, but it's important to honor the state in which it exists.
…/… Dommage que la transcription ne soit plus écrite en français !
Larger
Bigger wallpaper the little one looks too busy to me.
Small is better
Sherryl, we have decided not to go big, or small, but a mid range. Still a bit modern but leaning toward the small a little bit more.
Thank you !!
Mark
Bigger
Ring, ring… hello?… yes, this is the 1970’s calling. We’d like our harvest gold ceiling and walls back please. That conversation could be had with someone, unless you were my mother…who paired that color with sculptured turquoise carpet! Not a good combo.
It’s also very Napoleon 3rd colors!
Sorry, so sorry Philip ! but these two old ladies don't have much talent…
They are not my idea of interior experts 😱 sorry
I’m no expert. An ‘ex’ is a has been, and a ‘spurt’ is a drip under pressure!
That was tiresome
You should try doing the work!!!
{{{{{Phiiiilllllip}}}}} from Avonsac, I've missed youuuuuu!
You're going to hate this; That wallpaper? The design needs to be smaller.
Yeah, I know.
Toodles
Wrong! It actually needs to be bigger! 😊
