Ottawa is in Ontario. It sits on the south side of the Ottawa River, which serves as part of the border with Quebec. Hull-Gatineau is a city in Quebec sitting on the north side directly across from Ottawa.

just some corrections, ottawa is in ontario u were right the first time lol, and you got newfoundland and labrador mixed up, labrador borders quebec and newfoundland is the island where St John's is
