Asha Parekh told in an interview that it was really hard for them to shoot this song because of the stardom Rajesh Khanna attained after Aradhana. So, when they saw the crowd gathered around their hotel in Nainital to see Kaka, the film crew called more security guards from Delhi. However those guards weren’t enough to handle the mob near Naini Jheel where this song had heen shot so they called more guards from Delhi the very next day and then the shooting for Jis Gali mein tera Ghar finally begins after three days of waiting 🤩😂. No Bollywood actor could ever match the stardom of Rajesh Khanna❤️

नैनीताल में शक्ति सामंत की 'कटी पतंग' (1971) की शूटिंग चल रही थी. एक बहुत गंभीर गाना फिल्माया जाना था - जिस गली में तेरा घर न हो बालमा उस गली से हमें तो गुज़रना नहीं... मगर इसका फ़िल्मांकन आसानी से हुआ नही. शक्ति दा को खासे पापड़ बेलने पड़े. हुआ ये कि राजेश खन्ना और आशा पारीख बोट पर बैठे हैं. शक्ति दा ने कहते हैं - एक्शन... और कैमरा चालू हो जाता है. टेप रिकॉर्ड ऑन हो जाता है. मगर इसके साथ ही सैकड़ों बोट पानी में उतर पड़ती हैं. उन पर लदे तमाम तमाशबीन हाथ हिलाने लगते हैं. ये कैमरे की जद में आ जाते हैं. इतना गंभीर गाना और बैकग्राउंड में तमाशबीनों का खुश होकर हाथ हिलाना, सीन और सिचुएशन दोनों को तबाह कर देता है. शक्ति दा गुस्से से चिल्लाते हैं - कट कट कट...वो तमाशबीनों से रिक्वेस्ट करते हैं, बराये मेहरबानी डिस्टर्ब न करें, तनिक दूर रहें. मगर तमाशबीन हैं कि बाज़ ही नहीं आते हैं. आख़िर राजेश खन्ना-आशा पारेख उनके महबूब स्टार हैं. आधे से ज़्यादा दिन निकल गया. मगर एक भी शॉट नहीं हो पाया. आख़िरकार पैकअप घोषित हो गया. अब चूँकि शक्ति दा प्रोड्यूसर हैं तो उन्हें पैसे का मोल भी मालूम है. शक्ति दा गहरी सोच में पड़ गए कि कैसे तमाशबीनों को दूर रखा जाए. जब समझाने से काम न चले तो जुगाड़ काम आता है. अगले रोज़ शक्ति दा ने तमाम बोट्स दिन भर के लिए किराए पर ले लीं. अब करो बोटिंग. तमाशबीन तरस गए उस दिन बोटिंग को. लेकिन शक्ति दा का काम हो गया. मुकेश की आवाज़ में रिकार्डेड ये गाना ज़बरदस्त हिट हुआ और आगे चल कर इस गाने के ज़रिये तमाम नाक़ाम आशिक़ों ने दिल का गुब्बार भी निकाला. उनमें एक हम भी शामिल रहे.

This was due to Anand Bakshi the lyricist of this song.... somehow he felt mukesh would blend better with this song as it has romance and pathos both a perfect mukesh song....and he requested pancham da to use mukesh....the rest is history...
