Quick update for everyone watching! Valve recently released an update for Half-Life 1 that fixed A TON of bugs with the Steam version! However, this can also cause some issues with select mods, here's how to fix them:
Right click on Half-Life 1 in Steam, go to properties, then Betas, and change beta participation to steam_legacy. Wait for Steam to download some game files and you'll be set!
This will revert your Steam install to the pre-update version of the game, which while still having some notable bugs will get those troublesome mods up and running. Enjoy! ✌️😁

I did All this .. ANd the mods doesnt appear in my steam library. Lol ANd no one has a explanation for this? Why?
What steps did you take? What mods are you trying to install? The more details you can give me, the better! It'll help me figure out what's going on

I put the mods in the source sdk base, restarted steam. and the mods do not appear in the steam library. for example, I put the mission-improbable mod in source mods. I restarted steam. I put source sdk base 2013 on upcoming and it still doesn't appear,,I want to mention that half life 2 ep. half life 2 ep1,, and half life 2 ep 2,,are pirated. it is because they are pirated??? Pls help
The mods do not go in the source SDK folder, when you open the steamapps folder you will see a folder labeled sourcemods. This is where all HL2, Portal, and other Source Mods go. Half-Life 1 games go in the Half-Life 1 folder in your games. As for non-official copies, no idea, I use paid versions 🤷

You made sure the mods were extracted? Again, no idea regarding your copy, I only use paid versions. The game is crazy cheap and goes on sale often, I got it when they had the Valve Complete Pack for $20. Keep an eye open for a sale, it's a great purchase!
