Bastion: What is my purpose? Blizzard: You destroy shields. (Bastion destroys Winston shield after a half second) Bastion: What is my purpose? Blizzard: You destroy shields... Bastion: oh god...
That's all McCree is known for; having the most badass gun and even then it isn't enough to get him through when his overall kit isn't up to parity. Flashbang is an unforgiving skill shot which can be countered by using aerial momentum near obstacles to get to cover unlike the Hook which absolutely slows momentum down now, the Roll is only useful to keep firing Left Click, and Deadeye is only slightly useful for zoning out the enemy team while behind a Reinhardt shield except that Soldier: 76's ult can do that and select who he wants to kill like the backline supports or the Widowmaker so that his team doesn't have to worry about long range superiority. Having a badass gun along with bad abilities isn't enough for him anymore. The Flashbang needs to be fixed so that he can punish people who are out of position against him without having to take into account of some random jump that keeps them going in an odd direction.
Bastion got a huge change guys and we will continue to test it over the coming weeks, mercy also got changed but we are unsure if this makes her viable still. Also a bunch of other changes!! Let us know what you think and be sure to drop a Like & Subscribe if you enjoyed!
Your Overwatch He's weaker now that he has shit damage as turret, lots of people whining that bastion was to easy to kill just cannot play bastion correctly, he does take legitimate skill. Now that they took turret modes gun away by making it like tracers but stuck immobile and at range (making it useless) you've taken bastions point and destroyed it, then you've buffed the rest of him that didn't need any in the first place. It's like putting a 12x scope on a shotgun after breaking the shotgun then saying "hey look this shotgun has a 12x scope now, isn't that great? I mean yeah it doesn't shoot anymore but still, 12x scope!"
as some1 who plays bastion alot I do like the self repair changes and config switch buff but I am concerned w/ the changes to sentry and recon (bullet spread only tho mind you)
I think custom games will bring up the replay value of OW substantially. On console, Halo 3 was a huge success due greatly to the map creation and custom games options. I just hope that the custom games community comes up with creative ways to play. This option could either take off or diminish depending on how much people take advantage of it right away. To help this along, can you guys make a video of you playing a super fun creative custom game for people to try? Thanks!
I think custom games are rarely played because you don't get any experience from those games, so it seems like a waste of time. It is nice that they're giving people more options though.
The targeting sensitivity option is brilliant, it removes the whole "i tried to shield you but i shielded the rein" and "Boostio" shenanigans, and as you get better, you can adjust it lower to have more precise nanoboosts and shields. I'm sure someone will find a "perfect" sensitivity to where its not so precise that you can't even use it in the first place, but precise enough to not nanoboost the Lucio that just became visible in the corner of the screen.
It's basically the auto aim, for example with zarya, when shielding an ally, you just have to point in the general direction and the game will shield the closest ally. You can now tweak the maximum distance your cursor can be to consider said ally your target, it avoids shielding a random ally when several are next to each other and jumping everywhere.
CTF on this game is cancer. all it is on ps4 is bastions in turret form while being damage boosted, torb turrets and symmetra's turrers set up right at the flag making it damn near impossible to get
Haven't seen the video yet, so correct me if I'm wrong, but Mercy's Buff is NOT. HUGE. It's a quality of life issue that makes rez a bit safer and may turn the tide of battle in some certain situations. It won't change anything about Mercy's viability because her core problems aren't fixed. However, in my near 200 hours on her I noticed so many things, huge chunks and little details about her that make her as bad as she is right now (maybe even the worst/weakest character at the moment). These include things like Guardian Angel bugs (getting stuck on ceilings, objects, not gaining or even losing distance after usage), problems with her Guardian Angel in general (too slow, too little range, idea: split the ability in part. If she flies to a teammate it's the normal Guardian Angel (with a 1 sec cd please the 2 seconds cooldown is ridiculous) however if no one's around she can dash like Genji with an 8 second cooldown), problems with her beams (too little range both latching on and letting go, she has the tools for a front line healer but not the survivability of one, idea: if you heal you'll have 10 or 15% damage boost, and when you damage boost you have 10/15 hp heal per second), problems with her rez (range too small, make it 17 metres so she can cover a whole point, idea: mark souls that will be rezzed), problems with her survivability (convert 25 or 50% of her health to armor - she doesn't have that valkyrie suit for nothing right?; make weapon switch faster) and problems with not having a second ability (maybe give her an AoE or single target, depending on the strength of it, cleanse that removes all negative effects and grants a 1 or 2 second immunity to said effects (no more healdeny for you Ana, it would bring some counterplay for our meta dominatrix) but with a 10 or 12 second cooldown). These are some ideas of mine to make Mercy a better character, apart from the small buff of her new rez invulnerability. While I don't say my opinions are absolute or these must be included, things like the armor (NOT additional armor, still effective 200 health) would be easy to bring to the PTR and have a lot of impact. Blizzard has proven that they can rework a character properly with the case of Symmetra (I'd even say she is too good now, not OP but too good /cough/ beam range /cough/), why not do it with the hero in the most dire need of change - Mercy?
We agree on the mercy part (the bastion change is huge) in fact we have a video in the works saying why this buff to her ult isnt the issue in her kit. Its the fact that she is never in the fight really and you are basically planning on losing a fight to get rez value which is never enough. It will be interesting to see what they do with her from here. I like a lot of the suggestions recommended by the community and hope they get her in the right place soon -w
i dont think bast got buffed "Hugely" aswell... correct me if im wrong, but basiclly now you need to get much closer to do the burst damage that he used to do with his old stats. if he gets closer that means that its easier for close range heroes like roadhog or reaper or mei to just fuck him up from close range where the 35% dmg reduction wont help to get away from the enemy when they turn to him. the recon buff is pretty nice tho. :D i have no experience with the new bast so thats just what came to my mind when i heard about the changes...
I personally am fine with Mercy's buff. I would like a way for her to escape more easily, but it would be a bit overpowered at that point. Her healing is fine as it is right now (any faster and it would probably be a balance issue), and her damage boost is fine the way it is. Another area I was hoping to see was maybe a bit of armor, since she does feel squishier than some of the other supports. However, with the buff to resurrect, she can at least be sure to survive until her team comes back, which is actually quite important. Had a match a while back where I had to sacrifice myself for a 4 man revive which won me the game, but the last fight was very close with only two of my guys left on the control point, both of which were nearly dead. Had I been able to survive going into that fight, it would have been much more decisive. To me, it rewards going for a riskier play in a revive as it won't need you to sacrifice yourself anymore.
Give her a cleanse ability for one of her teammates with a five or six second cooldown. Removes discord, stops bleeding damage from attacks like Widow's mine or Ana's sniper, and clears stuns like Rein's ult or McCree's flash. Sombra hack, Roadhog hook, and Junkrat trap remain unaffected.
alfislegend While I think some of that is a good idea, I don't think giving mercy an ability that can be used every 6 seconds that completely denies Reins ult is a good idea....
nah, tell reaper hes ok when compared to roadhog. right, the inbalance is clear. mccrees ult suck donkeyballs, need a nice buff. winstons barrier needs a slight buff, its CD is huge
At this point nothing short of giving Mercy a new ability will put her back into the Meta, she was completely ult focus back in her prime and now with the longer ult build ups is simply ripped out all her power. My idea for a new Mercy ability is to give her a new alternate fire that allows her to plant her staff into the ground where it would radiate a aura that gives all allies (including mercy) the buff for the mode she was into when she planted it but at half strength(Either half healing or 25% damage boost). This would allow her to put her staff down when holding points or fighting on chokes and then pitch in with her blaster. You could also make the staff itself a guardian angel target so she always as a static point to fall back on when pressured.
What else could they buff? Her movement speed maybe, but in all fairness Blizzard needs to overhaul everyones moving speed because everyone walks at the exact same pace except for lucio and tracer who walk like 1% faster than everyone else. Plus it might be her best aspect but its also her worst because when you do rez people there's a big chance a lot of them will just die again. I would have preferred they got some overhealing when they get rezed like what Lucio's ult does.
Nah. People just keep on trying to shove a standard tank comp through her deathgate and fail due to their stubbornness. Get a dive comp with Pharah and Winston and she's useless the rest of the game.
Unfortunately Mercy is still terrible and honestly this change makes such little difference. Blizzard seem to not realize what is actually wrong with Mercy. *Terrible Survivability:* Mercy is really one of the most fragile characters in the game at the moment. First of all, she only has 200 HP. Which means it doesn't take long for her to be dropped. Now i realize most of the characters in the game have 200 HP. but almost all of them have a way to peal for themselves. Mercy however does not. Which moves us on to my second and third reasons why her survivability is bad which ties to the "she can't peal for herself part". Secondly, her blaster. Her lone self defence weapon is a pistol that does 20 damage per body shot, firing 5 rounds per second which results in 100 damage per second with no damage over distance fall off. Doesn't sound too bad right? That is until you realize that it is a projectile weapon with a rather slow travel velocity which makes it not very good when you need to defend yourself in CQC or MQC. You might say "In CQC you don't need to worry about projectile travel time" and that's true. However, take this into consideration. Who are the characters that will want to get close to you when you are using Mercy? The answer is Reaper, Genji, Tracer and some others. And there is no way on earth you are wining a 1v1 as Mercy against these characters. Thirdly, Her lone escape tool. Guardian Angel. Now i'll admit. This isn't that bad of an ability. However, being forced to have a teammate in line of sight is the biggest issue with this ability. Let's use a certain scenario to demonstrate why this is an issue for her survivability. You and your team are attacking and going through a choke point when a Mei puts up a wall which leaves you isolated on your own and an enemy Genji happens to be going through a flank route and he reached you and now you're stuck alone with him. You see what i mean here? What is really bugging me about this problem of survivability is that she's the ONLY healer that has this issue. If we use the scenario from earlier on the other supports. Ana can use her sleep dart, Her grenades and great damage of her rifle to defend herself. Lucio can use his push to keep Genji away from him and use his Amped up speed boost as an escape. Zenyatta can defend himself with discord and destruction orbs to defend himself. Mercy however? You might as well leave your keyboard and mouse/ controller because you are dead no matter what. *Lack of utility and versatility:* Now this is one that i constantly ranted on about so many times. Mercy has literally nothing to offer to her team and has no versatility to be a viable character. Let's look at her kit, part by part and break it down. Shall we? Her healing beam might be the only ok part of her kit to help her team. But again. It's not the best healing per second in the game as it heals 60 HPPS while Ana's rifle can heal around 75 HPPS. and that doesn't include the healing from her bio grenade too. Now Her healing is without a doubt better than Lucio's and Zens. But those character's value doesn't lie within thier healing. The second part of her kit is her damage boost which increases damage for a teammate by 30%. But why choose that over discord orb? I don't know about you guys but i would rather have a an ability that helps my whole team focus down one high priority target rather than Amp up the damage of one teammate. Lastly, i already talked about guardian angel. But in short, it's an ability that only benefits her and not her team. A final statement on this subject is a little summary of what the other supports have to offer to the team just to demonstrate why Mercy is a bad pick. Lucio: he provides unarguably the best ability in the game. Speed boost. This ability has so many uses and versatility such as team fight initiation, Disengagement, enemy ultimate ivasion, etc. Ana provides her sleep dart which is basically the best anti flanker tool in the game, one of the best abilities to shut dosn enemy ults, etc. She provides utility with her bio grenade as It's the only counter to Zenyatta's transcendence and it also serves great healing purposes. And Zenyatta provides discord orb which i explained the value of it already. With this massive lack of versatility, it creates the third and final issue with Mercy. *Ultimate dependency:* Not much to say about this one. But it's definitely one of Mercy's biggest issues and it is directly related to the versatility issue. Due to the fact that Mercy offers no other utilities, i would confidently say that 80% of her value to the team lies in her ulti. The main issue with that is that it forces Mercy to hide when her ulti is ready to make sure she gets value out of it. That's not the case with the other supports which also means that since she's hiding, she's not providing healing to her team. And also, who would pick a hero for the sole reason of an ultimate unless that ultimate builds stupidly fast like Sombra (which Mercy does NOT)? Mercy is fucking awful and i don't see her ever being viable without being broken unless she gets a full symmetra style rework.
TheHobbitMonster yeah he should have considered that youtube commenters and a bunch of lazy kids. I read all and he is 100% in my opinion as a Mercy player (not main)
Scσяρισи Tнє Hєℓℓѕραωи You sir don't know much about the game and shouldn't be speaking on this subject, essay or not. Survivability? Hide behind cover, stick with teammates, and she has an automatic selfheal passive. Utility? She is meant to primarily be a healer, but other than her healing her utility is her damage buff and rez (which charges pretty fast). Damage? Lol her damage is fine. I didn't even bother to read the rest of your points if there were any. This buff is actually VERY helpful and game changing for her. Now she can have a second to breathe before having an instant death due to the entire enemy team focusing her upon rezing her team. That is all. Good luck climbing out of gold/platinum bud
Would have appreciated it more if you turned on bloom when you were testing Bastion's reworks so the increased spread for Sentry and decreased spread for Recon (or as you call it Robot Mode) would actually be more visible.
Exactly. As a D.Va main, I never block his hooks. And it's kinda weird if she can block the hooks, after all, in my eyes, it isnt a bullet or projectile, right?
Jonathan Hasiholan its a special projectile, since the hook can't be vaporized it cannot be blocked by the matrix, its like a heat seaking rocket following a flare, if its a normal rocket it will keep going straight
Just a request, but next time you show off the difference in spread could you enable bloom? I can't get a good read with just the dot crosshair. Great roundup anyway!
i like the idea of merging her beams but having one do say the current heal with a 10% buff to damage, while the other beam would do the current damage buff with a small(like a not amped up lucio amount) of healing per sec. this was she has more utility. she is still squishy, still an easy target. but now she would be closer to the value an ana or lucio give to a team fight overal
He still puts out a lot of hurt in sentry mode IF all his projectiles hit. Tanks still need to watch out for his sentry mode, but smaller targets can move in and out if his fire with less risk. Better Recon and transition speed makes his positioning way more flexible as well, meaning he can set up in a pickle and melt heroes who are too close to him.
A suggestion for future patch videos: whenever there is a change to the recoil of guns, please turn on crosshair bloom in the options so that we can see the difference. It would also be great if you changed it to the default crosshair. That way we can really see how fast or large the recoil is. Thanks!
arenkai god you PC players are so stuck up and annoying lol we may play console but at least we don't get fuckin reported for not playing someone in the meta :/
Good video but it would be nice if in your gameplay demonstrating the new bloom on Bastion, for example, you could have bloom turned on so we can see how much of a difference it actually is.
I don't know if zylbrad will like this... it was a big part of his playstyle to headshott and melt everyone on the enemy team in half a second and as a mercy main, I can't count how many times my fkn damage stream targeted zen while he ulted and I cound't get it off of him because it would just clip to him again
I still say losing headshots on bastion is a massive nerf and he'll be worse off in the long run. But the damage reduction and other changes are nice i guess
Mecha Zard He'll be better this way. Takes less damage in turret mode and then can heal while getting away. He has that 300 magazine as well so it's a good trade off imo
Mecha Zard it's just like adding bells and whistles to a bike, then breaking the bike and calling the overall job a "buff" they broke bastions entire point as a turret by ruining the spread and taking away headshots. His spread makes him like tracer except he cannot move in and get closer to attack the enemy so he's stuck with the shittiest damage of possibly any hero in game now
The Bastion changed were brilliant. It was a nerf in the lower levels where sentry mode was too strong, and a buff in the higher levels where his mobility and versatility were too weak.
ahdoah Hsieh I reckon invincibility may be a good route to take, obviously it doesn't help fix her underlying issues, but it does offer a rival to Ana's nano boost. Nanoblade vs Invinciblade? Would work well with Mcree's deadeye too.
I think that the new meta for defense might become Rein, Roadhog, Bastion, Soldier, Ana, Zen For the attackers (on non KotH-maps), i think Sombra might be in a great spot, since she can bring Bastion out of his Sentry Mode or bring down the Rein shield. Also you would probably need a Pharah on a long distance to do some damage and Rein would fall out of the attack comp because his shield is just melting to Bastions Sentry Mode. The best way to approach the comp I propose would probably be a dive comp with D.va focusing to hold the bastion out of the game for the DPS to get into the fight and through the choke points
Right, let's bring a CTF mode that was mostly disliked to the game but not say a thing about a PvE mode that a huge amount of people enjoyed. Blizzard.
MegaWater S. , I knew I could be bullshiting because I don't actually play the game. Although from what I read on the internet it was REALLY hated. And people seemed to enjoy the PvE mode way more and now Blizzard says it was loved by everyone I thought it was bullshit. Sorry.
i think the only other thing mercy need is her mobility sped up like, people shouldn't be able to react to a mobility skill. I'd also possibly like to see her get a double jump with it because it makes sense with her kit. and lucio won't be hurt by it because he still has speed boost. and ana has the range/cc/burst healing so i think THAT would separate mercy who would have better emergency escape options
The Ironclad passive is HUGE when it comes to flankers. It turns Tracer's crit box DPS to 84 when you account for the Ironclad and the Armor reductions, Reaper's crit DPS would be 98, and Genji's would be 43 DPS. These damage numbers are all applied when you're hitting his crit box in Sentry mode. This passive really makes Bastion tough to take down as a flanker if he sets up to try and tear down your shields/Tanks even if you succeed in getting on his blindside. I'm not sure if I'm okay with this. lmao
I feel like the Eichenwalde change will still favor the defending team cause now they can see and shoot the attackers on the other side of the door, while attackers still can't use that entrance much, besides heroes with vertical mobility.
Really damn excited for the server browser for custom games. I've only brainstormed a couple fun and dumb gamemodes that could be done with it. Excellent video as always.
I was complaining about zarya's bubbles going to on to people you weren't looking at because there was someone else near to them the other day, now they've fixed my issue!
Zenyatta could be targeted while in Transcendence which meant you could Zarya bubble him, or Nano boost him by accident. (The Zarya bubble was actually kind of useful sometimes when you were clutching out a point and needed energy but had no other teammates to bubble and Zenyatta was in the line of fire... but it also was frustrating when you bubbled him unnecessarily). The DVA buff needs clarification. There were TWO DIFFERENT things going on with that. A) Her Defense Matrix comes out as a cone from a single point on her mech, getting progressively wider with distance. This means that, theoretically, you can bypass it by being close enough to DVA HERSELF, so that at that point in space, the cone is a single point (blocks nothing). B) Her Defense Matrix required some time to delete projectiles so that if they traveled very short distances, they would not be blocked. This affected players in the Defense Matrix that were right up against enemies, so for instance Roadhog shooting point blank into DVA's teammate and landing the pellets because they didn't travel far enough to be deleted. Are BOTH of these changing? or just B)? Because if it's just B) then you would still be able to point blank damage DVA herself, just not her teammates further out in the cone.
Genji need a buff: when he use the dagon blade and use the reflect: when there is 1 sec left or less on his dragonblade and you need to use it it does get cancelled and you need to wait 8 sec before using it again
That damage resistance is going to be annoying on bassy bc only while yes his recon got a buff most ppl will be spending their time on sentry just as before.
I've played bastion, You can kiss sniping pharahs out of the sky goodbye. His turret form is pretty useless now at mid to long range. It's interesting that his recon mode is now comparable to soldier, the only real difference is soldiers AOE healing and burst damage Rockets and Bastion has no recon burst and only a self heal. You'll see more of him but his turret will not be sniping anyone anymore.
Interesting new updates. I jumped on PTR to try out Bastion and he's great fun to play as now but this is great regarding Mercy. Now I don't have to worry about resurrecting a D.Va and have to instantly heal her to give her time to get into her Mech. That's always been a pain. D.Va players could complain about a res cos they would die almost instantly...I hope this temporary invulnerability helps.
What if mercys staff had the technology winstons tesla cannon uses, and connects to everyone who is close to her? Then she would be more useful even though her lack of mobility would still be present
Honestly - all I want is a double jump, that way I can reliably get to my snipers and turrets on ledges; that and restoring all of your own health after rezing. I mean the invulnerability undoubtedly helps, but half the time I am rezing on low health if it is chaotic anyways.
I honestly think the buff D.Va gets here along with the rework to her gun is more significant than her armour. In summary, over the last balancing patch and what's now on the PTR I'd say her sum total was a buff. Of course, if you didn't actually knew how she should be played but mostly did well 'cause she was immortal, then for you it was a nerrf...but personally I don't even really notice the difference from when she had 400 armour and 200 hp.
It's this kid that was nerfed. it now only "autoreloads" your other form's gun once the normal reload time passes. (i swap and and reloading takes place in the backround)
Interesting bastion buff as a GENJI main in kinda scared lol mostly at the damage reduction passive cause it just got 35% harder to kill bastion and he can heal through it and that spread reduction is also scary he is like soldier now with that gun
Sombra needs a buff, the spread on her gun needs to be decreased, she either needs to start sprinting sooner when she activates invisibility, or reduce the the time it takes to go in and out of it. The second wait while exiting invisibility while glowing bright purple and not being able to shoot or do anything is a major disadvantage. Also wouldn't mind a couple second increae in her teleporter timer, then she might be viable in Competitive.
i like the fact fact that they slowly reworking heroes every hero may not be balanced but definetely viable first they reworked D.va then they reworked symmetra fixed roadhog aswell as tweaks like the widow maker scope reduction the soldier damage buff and the pharah lift increase and now they are fixing bastion now they just need to fix trobjorn and add doom fist it really is looking like the game is getting to the point where every hero is viable and that is a great thing
It would be cool if Mercy could fly boost like Pharah, so she can find targets to heal faster, plus it would help her escape in some situations. Yesterday I had Pharah target me at the spawn and I had no way defending myself on a big map. Although I did have a shit team that let Pharah and Widowmaker flank them.
I feel mccree's flash needs a shorter cooldown, I mean, at a 10 second cooldown with minimum range? Roadhog has his hook combo that can almost instakill a winston at a 6sec cooldown and mccree has his flash at 10... as well as his flash has a way to long cooldown for what it gives you, his ult is also pretty much trash... mccree really needs a buff...
I suspect that D.Va's buff is going to have a lot more impact than anyone suspects. The minimum distance was a flaw in her defense that people exploited without even realising it - now, she can shield her allies in close quarters firefights, cancel out Roadhog picks, and generally will be a far greater disruptor of enemy pushes than she was before. Shame about the health nerf though.
I like the idea to have Mercy's beam combined into healing/damage buff. I also think the ability to counter Ana's anti heal in some way would be good. The rez buff is nice, but it's not enough. Maybe since the beam could be combined, the other use of her beam could be a 'cleanse' that removes negative effects like discord orb, and anti heal, widows poison when used on allies, but could target enemies to remove harmony orb, health nade, or sheilds/armor provided by torb and symetra? Something like that. I know blizzard won't want to implement too many changes at once and over buff like they did with Ana, but Mercy still needs more love.
So bastion could annihilate a deathball if he gets the jump, I could see a stealth bastion playstyle that capitalizes on the enemy team being in a big pile that's fairly close
That Eichenwalde gate change is so important. Final stretch of that map was far too defense skewed. Res buff is cool, but I wish they'd just give her an E ability.
Give Mercy's heal a damage boost when in close range and make her right click a beam attack, ditching the pistol, giving her a better way to switch between heal and DPS, and a good risk v reward playstyle option.
Mercy needs an "E" ability. Maybe something like a Clense; i. e. remove discord, freeze, antiheal, poisons, etc from teammates. Maybe 15sec CD, AE pulse from her staff. Thoughts?
Some guy on another video convinced me that the changes to Bastion are a huge nerf. He claimed to be grand master and his description was in great detail. So take it for what its worth, but it was quite interesting. I told him to switch to Hanzo. He didn't reply. His final thoughts were it was a weak version of Soldier 76.
Here's an idea for a Mercy tweak: Boost the range of her heal by 5 metres or so and make it 75hp per second, but make it ignore the effects of friendly and hostile Anas. Now you have a consistent solo heal that always heals for 75hp per second, but can't be denied by an enemy Ana's bio nade. This would give Mercy a nifty niche, that's not too broken, as you can only heal one target at a time, so positioning and target prioritization are key. That would be a trade off for friendly Ana's being unable to boost her healing potency. This would make an interesting Passive ability.
the quality is really a-mai-zing! pls could u be kind enough to give me some help with render settings?? cause my videos are fine on my computer crystal clear image but when i upload them are really blurry/messy! Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!
for the love rein need more health on his shield. with bastion changed just to break it plus others like roadhogs right click and pharah. it just gets shredded. not even fun to play him.
Symmetra: less range, or 80 dps instead of 120. Roadhog: 8 second hook Cooldown. Soldier: 17 damage per shot. Genji: faster speed in the air. Mercy: 100 health per sec. Or an E ability. Ana: reduced projectile size on sleep dart. McCree: flash bang is hitscan. Moves faster with his ult. Pharah: 100 damage instead of 120. Increased knock back. Junkrat: reduce damage to 99.9. Remove aim assist on console. Zenyatta: smaller hitbox or faster speed. Torbjorn: turret health upped to 500. Reinhardt: reduce charge hitbox. P.S this is coming from a console pov.
As the PTR went down yesterday we left this video for today so we had the right footage, it won't be our only one so look out for later ;) -w
When you wrote -w, I thought you ment Weedo.
Your Overwatch so there is no sombra buff?
Will you still post the Mercy video?
Your Overwatch "huge [...] Mercy Buff"!? Resurrect was not the problem, rather the lack of mobility (without the team)
Is this update for console to ? Pls answer
They referred to Bastion as "it" do they have emotions Bastion is mah little robo boy
Bastion is a she
Ayoub P how do you know?
Ayoub P gender identity in it's myraid of forms is a human weaknesses that our ironclad overlords do not share.
Bastion is a tank, don't assume Bastion's gender.
*whispering* "Is Bastion a girl robot?"
Guess we won't be hearing this anymore:
"Heroes never-- AGH!"
Bastion: What is my purpose?
Blizzard: You destroy shields.
(Bastion destroys Winston shield after a half second)
Bastion: What is my purpose?
Blizzard: You destroy shields...
Bastion: oh god...
Blizzard: Yeah welcome to the club. Go sit next to McCree, fuck that guy.
Mcree is amazing, you just need accuracy, something 95% of overwatch players dont have.
Empologin I love when people don't get references and feel the need to comment anyway.
To be fair, who doesn't destroy Winston's shield in half a second ?
Let us know what you think and be sure to drop a Like & Subscribe if you enjoyed!
no he's gonna be kinda like soildier except the difference between helix and run vs. sentry and heal while move will set their playstyles apart
Bastions hit box is very large so he won't be used exactly like soldier though
+Fearghus Keitz lol I sense a bastion player .lol play of the game no more. I like what they've added he's more viable in recon now
as some1 who plays bastion alot I do like the self repair changes and config switch buff but I am concerned w/ the changes to sentry and recon (bullet spread only tho mind you)
I think custom games will bring up the replay value of OW substantially. Thanks!
Carl Jones I'm hoping for Lucio 24/7 Illios Boop Only
I think custom games are rarely played because you don't get any experience from those games, so it seems like a waste of time. It is nice that they're giving people more options though.
that's one of the changes as well, you receive experience for playing custom games.
Obversechaos you will receive xp for custom games now
The targeting sensitivity option is brilliant, it removes the whole "i tried to shield you but i shielded the rein" and "Boostio" shenanigans, and as you get better, you can adjust it lower to have more precise nanoboosts and shields. I'm sure someone will find a "perfect" sensitivity to where its not so precise that you can't even use it in the first place, but precise enough to not nanoboost the Lucio that just became visible in the corner of the screen.
OhItzaJaguar WOOO JACKPOT
I'm still confused by what they mean by all of that
It's basically the auto aim, for example with zarya, when shielding an ally, you just have to point in the general direction and the game will shield the closest ally. You can now tweak the maximum distance your cursor can be to consider said ally your target, it avoids shielding a random ally when several are next to each other and jumping everywhere.
I boost Lucio on purpose when I play Ana^^
R.I.P Boostio 2k16-2k17
now Bastion actually feels like a proper defense hero
CTF on this game is cancer. all it is on ps4 is bastions in turret form while being damage boosted, torb turrets and symmetra's turrers set up right at the flag making it damn near impossible to get
Logan Kirkpatrick zaryra zen ult into team wipe? It's not that hard, but you are playing on console sooo..
Logan Kirkpatrick Pha. Rah. Wins. Ton.
even tho console vs. pc has no difference :/
Mastah Guardian there is a huge difference between the two
That is what you get for playing an fps on console 4Head
Ikari I agree with exactly what you say, I feel your pain as a fellow mercy mai
We agree on the mercy part (the bastion change is huge) in fact we have a video in the works saying why this buff to her ult isnt the issue in her kit. Its the fact that she is never in the fight really and you are basically planning on losing a fight to get rez value which is never enough. It will be interesting to see what they do with her from here. I like a lot of the suggestions recommended by the community and hope they get her in the right place soon -w
Ok, thanks for the info, looking forward to that video =) I really hope it gets some attention over at Blizzard :D
If symmetra's broken why does noone play her. *cough* *cough*
i dont think bast got buffed "Hugely" aswell... correct me if im wrong, but basiclly now you need to get much closer to do the burst damage that he used to do with his old stats. if he gets closer that means that its easier for close range heroes like roadhog or reaper or mei to just fuck him up from close range where the 35% dmg reduction wont help to get away from the enemy when they turn to him.
the recon buff is pretty nice tho. :D
i have no experience with the new bast so thats just what came to my mind when i heard about the changes...
I came and eye rolled the bastion buff, but stayed for the mercy buff
Still a bit upset that the mercy buff was so small
Vanilla Nexus Judt like in tf2
Mercy needs an E ability that places a soul that she can fly to. It would increase her mobility and survivaibility, and synergize with Rez.
Evergrand I think that'd be a little too op, but I may be wrong.
Would make sense if it had 10-15 seconds of uptime, with a 5-6 second cool down. Similar to Sombra's teleport beacon.
*****
Yeah, that seems like a good idea, although I think the cooldown should be a little longer.
alfislegend While I think some of that is a good idea, I don't think giving mercy an ability that can be used every 6 seconds that completely denies Reins ult is a good idea....
You should've turned bloom on so we can actually see the crosshair for bastion
Bastion no longer has bloom in turret mode. It's always at max bloom.
Ex Queue lol damn I meant changing the crosshairs to the circle for reference. My bad.
still waiting for reaper, winston , mccree buff
these three are fine, they'll need to fix mccree's gangbang, but otherwise, they're completely ok
nah, tell reaper hes ok when compared to roadhog. right, the inbalance is clear. mccrees ult suck donkeyballs, need a nice buff. winstons barrier needs a slight buff, its CD is huge
Neiro.Ferine, Reaper is fine scrub
Buff mccree pls. plsssssssssssssssssssss
they are all perfectly balanced, mccrees ult could use a rework tho
I think D.VA's "buff" is rather a bug fix.
not a bug if it was intentional
Its rather a fix fix not a bug fix
No, its a buff. The protection deadzone in front of Dva was completely intended by the developers. Changing it means that is a buff, not a fix.
Mayby it should be like that from the begining you know? thats what i mean like the hook 2.0 is a fix (and a buff) but a fix nonetheless[
Yea i like how his hook can be a buff when you can throw a hook at someone but because of hitbox it slides right past them.
Lol buff mercy's best aspect
K den That ass
K den but her armor covers up her.....oh wait, you meant her res, didn't you.....well....how bout them patriots *awkward laugh*
MrKago1 I would like a buff in those aspects, but if people get mad at mei getting thinner how would they react to mercy getting more thicc?
All my aspects are my best aspects
What else could they buff? Her movement speed maybe, but in all fairness Blizzard needs to overhaul everyones moving speed because everyone walks at the exact same pace except for lucio and tracer who walk like 1% faster than everyone else. Plus it might be her best aspect but its also her worst because when you do rez people there's a big chance a lot of them will just die again. I would have preferred they got some overhealing when they get rezed like what Lucio's ult does.
thumbs up for symetra nerf?
Fuck yea
Nah. People just keep on trying to shove a standard tank comp through her deathgate and fail due to their stubbornness. Get a dive comp with Pharah and Winston and she's useless the rest of the game.
her weapon literally only got extended 2 metres
She's just the new Bastion guys eventually people will figure out she's actually easily countered
as a symmetra main: yeah we are pretty easily countered
Unfortunately Mercy is still terrible and honestly this change makes such little difference. Blizzard seem to not realize what is actually wrong with Mercy.
*Terrible Survivability:*
Mercy is really one of the most fragile characters in the game at the moment.
*Lack of utility and versatility:*
Now this is one that i constantly ranted on about so many times.
*Ultimate dependency:*
Not much to say about this one.
Scσяρισи Tнє Hєℓℓѕραωи she is used by top 500 players ha your just bad
Christopher Gahan Yeah, and because I'm bad she hasn't seen a pick rate of over 1% in the tournament scene in the past 4 months. Nice try, bud ;)
Can't be fucked to read that
TheHobbitMonster yeah he should have considered that youtube commenters and a bunch of lazy kids.
Yay, no longer POTG of mercy reviving 5 people and suddenly died. "HEROES..... Ughhhh".
So will we finally get that Rez Value Freedo and Weagal keep talking about?
Wait, what? Since when can D.Va block Roadhog hooks?
they used the hook as a projectile example, not a blocking example :P
***** oh its just example.
I thought I was dumb and my matrix never protect me from that hook. Lol
she doesnt block the hook, she blocks the damage much easier after a hook. but not for herself, only her allies -w
Just a request, but next time you show off the difference in spread could you enable bloom? I can't get a good read with just the dot crosshair. Great roundup anyway!
A Seizure Salad its always at max bloom. so take the current max bloom of bastion and increase it 50%
finally, we live in a world where we don't need to hear "Heroes never-AUGGHGH"
i like the idea of merging her beams but having one do say the current heal with a 10% buff to damage, while the other beam would do the current damage buff with a small(like a not amped up lucio amount) of healing per sec. this was she has more utility. she is still squishy, still an easy target. but now she would be closer to the value an ana or lucio give to a team fight overal
I really did not enjoy CTF at all, if it ever hits comp playlist I would really like a way to choose what modes we play so I could avoid it.
CTF would be better if the carrier couldn't use abilities
CTF was good, but the maps were lazy and rushed. If only they borrowed from tf2 or halo 3, games that already mastered those kind of maps.
all the mobile carriers are squishy so imho it works out fine
12171010011010 have whinston grab it and jump away.
Honestly so excited for the res buff. I constantly am killed when I'm resurrecting people.
A suggestion for future patch videos: whenever there is a change to the recoil of guns, please turn on crosshair bloom in the options so that we can see the difference. It would also be great if you changed it to the default crosshair. That way we can really see how fast or large the recoil is. Thanks!
Im really lucky because i have started to play both of these heroes more
Bleach HD why you are not 4k ultra HD?
Probably because he's a console peasant !!
arenkai Pretty sure most consoles support 4K now... Xbox one s does... And HDR
arenkai god you PC players are so stuck up and annoying lol we may play console but at least we don't get fuckin reported for not playing someone in the meta :/
+Nagito Komaeda And you console players have trouble recognizing jokes :/
You know what would be cool, a support hero with a deployable buff. Like a deployable track that speed-boosts teammates, or a deployable jump pad.
I want Mercy buff now!!!!!!!!!! I hope Dva can stop Hog killing shot. Would be a good counter when an ally gets hooked.
Zarya has a 12 second cooldown on that bubble, Hook has 6 seconds.
Good video but it would be nice if in your gameplay demonstrating the new bloom on Bastion, for example, you could have bloom turned on so we can see how much of a difference it actually is.
Robocock activated
I don't know if zylbrad will like this... it was a big part of his playstyle to headshott and melt everyone on the enemy team in half a second
and as a mercy main, I can't count how many times my fkn damage stream targeted zen while he ulted and I cound't get it off of him because it would just clip to him again
Not sure how I like the whole no headshots thing, but otherwise I like the Bastion rework.
Gavin McLaurin #PopplioPosse I guess he is more of a tank killer now
+Supertrex 725 less of a tank killer, more of a shield killer
Enzku or both
+Supertrex 725 bastion was good at taking down tanks BECAUSE of the insane headshot damage, they removed headshot damage so no.
Enzku Then again we haven't played the ptr and don't know how it'll play out so we have to wait and see
Another thing for Bastion, his turret ammo doesn't automatically reload when transforming anymore. you have to do it manually now
I still say losing headshots on bastion is a massive nerf and he'll be worse off in the long run.
His spread makes him like tracer except he cannot move in and get closer to attack the enemy so he's stuck with the shittiest damage of possibly any hero in game now
Bloodbug but raising spread has been tested on him and it shows he cannot effectively kill dpses anymore
Fearghus Keitz Proof? He already melts most heroes. This is easily a buff to Bastian. No doubt. You also win the award for worst metaphor ever.
Sangerino play the ptr and try to kill a pharah from mid range
The Bastion changed were brilliant. It was a nerf in the lower levels where sentry mode was too strong, and a buff in the higher levels where his mobility and versatility were too weak.
Mercy needs 2 ultimate 1. Mass Revive 2. Invincibility
ahdoah Hsieh how does invincibility fit in to her kit and lore?
TheHobbitMonster
That does have to do with his lore...
ahdoah Hsieh I reckon invincibility may be a good route to take, obviously it doesn't help fix her underlying issues, but it does offer a rival to Ana's nano boost. Nanoblade vs Invinciblade? Would work well with Mcree's deadeye too.
Alright lets put it in terms i know everyone will hate.. Invincible Roadhog enough said.
The Derp There you go, a reason to play mercy over ana
Really good update, still wish they had some kind of workshop support for custom servers (like custom maps weapons and skins).
BRADSTION IS BAAAACK
I think that the new meta for defense might become Rein, Roadhog, Bastion, Soldier, Ana, Zen
For the attackers (on non KotH-maps), i think Sombra might be in a great spot, since she can bring Bastion out of his Sentry Mode or bring down the Rein shield.
Blizzard.
TyCez "Mostly" It was the most played and loved game mode. You might not like CTF but atleast don't make shit up.
MegaWater S. , I knew I could be bullshiting because I don't actually play the game. Although from what I read on the internet it was REALLY hated. And people seemed to enjoy the PvE mode way more and now Blizzard says it was loved by everyone I thought it was bullshit.
Sorry.
TyCez lul
TyCez Some people hated it strongly. Loud minorities.
I see. It seemed flawed from the videos I watched on day one but I guess people learned how it fit on Overwatch eventually.
i think the only other thing mercy need is her mobility sped up
like, people shouldn't be able to react to a mobility skill. I'd also possibly like to see her get a double jump with it because it makes sense with her kit. and lucio won't be hurt by it because he still has speed boost. and ana has the range/cc/burst healing so i think THAT would separate mercy who would have better emergency escape options
Your Overwatch fans server when? :p
You should write ''time link'' for all subject in the description for skip the some we already know! It would be great!!
Winston and Mccree Buffs please
The Ironclad passive is HUGE when it comes to flankers. It turns Tracer's crit box DPS to 84 when you account for the Ironclad and the Armor reductions, Reaper's crit DPS would be 98, and Genji's would be 43 DPS. These damage numbers are all applied when you're hitting his crit box in Sentry mode. This passive really makes Bastion tough to take down as a flanker if he sets up to try and tear down your shields/Tanks even if you succeed in getting on his blindside. I'm not sure if I'm okay with this. lmao
2cp is bad enough I would hate ctr shits boring
I feel like the Eichenwalde change will still favor the defending team cause now they can see and shoot the attackers on the other side of the door, while attackers still can't use that entrance much, besides heroes with vertical mobility.
OMG!! MERCY BUFF
Who Cares
not as "HUGE" as the video title played it out to be tho.
but it's a start, maybe they'll work on her core problems soon
Really damn excited for the server browser for custom games. I've only brainstormed a couple fun and dumb gamemodes that could be done with it. Excellent video as always.
i still hate bastion
I was complaining about zarya's bubbles going to on to people you weren't looking at because there was someone else near to them the other day, now they've fixed my issue!
We're doomed! :D
Where my Mercy mains at?
Genji need a buff: when he use the dagon blade and use the reflect: when there is 1 sec left or less on his dragonblade and you need to use it it does get cancelled and you need to wait 8 sec before using it again
Mercy mains rejoice
That damage resistance is going to be annoying on bassy bc only while yes his recon got a buff most ppl will be spending their time on sentry just as before.
FIRST !!!!
uhh
65hps to the whole team?
Seems balanced
I'm so happy with the eichenwalde change, it will make more sense lore-wise as well. I always wondered why the metal gate didn't come down before...
Of course, if you didn't actually knew how she should be played but mostly did well 'cause she was immortal, then for you it was a nerrf...but personally I don't even really notice the difference from when she had 400 armour and 200 hp.
there is a trick with bastion where you switch from his mini gun mode to regular and then switch back, your amo is full and you keep fighting.
As a Lucio player even i think she needed a buff cuz I out healer in every comp game. She should really be able to heal the team better.
Give Mercy's heal a damage boost when in close range and make her right click a beam attack, ditching the pistol, giving her a better way to switch between heal and DPS, and a good risk v reward playstyle option.
Torb is now top tier with that reload change
Bastion without a headshot multiplier in turret form sounds like it makes him less of a threat on the battlefield.
Well it was nice being able to play Pharah again for that short period of time.
Bastion still turns out enough DPS to melt most of the OW hero cast in
Mercy needs an "E" ability. Maybe something like a Clense; i. e. remove discord, freeze, antiheal, poisons, etc from teammates. Maybe 15sec CD, AE pulse from her staff.
Thoughts?
You really deserve more subs
Any chance you could increase the volume? It's really quiet
Can you address the problem with Widowmaker on console where you shoot but, two shots come out of the gun and do no damage if you can please?
i love how he compares bastions heal meter to torbs scrap and not dva's shield lmfao
Kyle Couture Yea he definitely doesn't correct himself with an in-video message.
the quality is really a-mai-zing! pls could u be kind enough to give me some help with render settings?? cause my videos are fine on my computer crystal clear image but when i upload them are really blurry/messy! Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!
could you make a guide on the new Bastion? I have no clue how to use the reconmode and I kinda know how to use the sentrymode.
The targeting on Transcendence thing means we won't have any more nano boosted Zen's who've popped this ability. Thank the gods.
for the love rein need more health on his shield. with bastion changed just to break it plus others like roadhogs right click and pharah. it just gets shredded. not even fun to play him.
Elijah Anzak well if he is buffed than it would be hard for other heros
When you're talking about patch notes, could you please include a link to said notes? :)
any clues about implementing something like clans, clan wars would be awesome addition to this game.
that in-/outro beat is nuts
