June does an excellent job on harmony when they sing "Romeo and Juliet, Samson and Delilah." It's so beautiful, Vintage June with that adorable voice. Girl you'll always be missed.

The first two albums Richard Perry produced for the Pointer Sisters was virtually unprecedented - and all girl group singing rock-n-roll (though he had previously produced Fanny). The first album did very well with this as a smash hit single. Unfortunately the follow up album - Priority - didn't sell as well. It's a gem worth finding in old record bins. For my money, Priority is even better - a harder hitting, grittier rock album.
Here's a good one. I punched "songs containing word fire" and songs starting with "fire" into both Google and UA-cam and nothing came up. Who the hell works at these places????
@philburrell - I have been following the Pointer Sisters since 1973, been to many of their concerts since then and have seen them up close, that is Ruth. Check out some of the early album covers Energy - 1978, Priority - 1979 and Special Things - 1980.
This live arrangement is note perfect and uncluttered like the studio version; but the Sister's smoldering passion and Anita's nuance trumps the Energy album release. Not that the single didn't have an impressive pedigree with Davey Johnstone, David Paich, Jai Winding playing along.

Me and my sister used to sneak and watch TV late at night on the weekend and we would watch Midnight Special on channel 4 cause almost all the other channels were off the air. It was so fresh and new to me at 9 years old but the live music was outstanding. I always loved The Pointer Sisters and wish they got more respect. First thing I ever remember buying was a 45 of this song. I was about 8 years old and my mom had to have it but was too busy to get the record herself. I walked down El Camino Real passing under highway 92 to The Warehouse which wasn't much further than the overpass.
